About this cottage rental
This charming, cozy, 4 season cottage overlooks the Moon River in the heart of Bala, just 12 minutes off the 400! With over a half-acre of land, this gem is located within minutes to the grocery store, Don’s Bakery, Beer Store, LCBO, The Kee, markets, the beach, hiking trails, snowmobile trails & more.
2 minutes to Bala (15 min walk)
10 minutes to Port Carling
15 minutes to Gravenhurst
25 minutes to Bracebridge
Cottage is fully equipped for you to enjoy, just bring your personal items!
This recently renovated cottage is full of things to do!
In the warmer months, enjoy the use of our two kayaks around the lake, enjoy a great book on the dock, gather on the lakeside deck equipped with a built-in bench & high top table, and enjoy quality time around the outdoor fire pit.
In the cooler months, enjoy the fall foliage or snow covered trees from the cottage, enjoy the hiking, ice skating and snowmobile trails in the area, challenge your friends or family to a board game, curl up beside the fireplace and watch your favourite shows and movies.
The cottage is fully winterized with baseboard heaters as well as an indoor fireplace. In the summer months, air conditioning is available.
All bedrooms are equipped with new beds, pillows, sheets, quilt set and comforters.
The kitchen is fully equipped for you to cook your favourite meals and enjoy around the dining table with your family and friends. There is a propane BBQ to grill your favourites!
The laundry area has a new washing machine and dryer if you choose to use them.
There are floaties for you to enjoy during your stay.
Cottage is equipped with a smart TV, wifi & cable.
Low Season - September-May (2 night minimum)
High Season - June - Aug (7 night minimum stay, check-in on Friday)
Dock - The floating dock will be available for use from May long weekend until Thanksgiving.
Winter Access - The cottage is located off a main road that is plowed by the city. The cottage driveway will be cleared by a snow removal company we have hired each time there is a large snowfall.

Lovely, well maintained cottage close to so many towns and highlights in Muskoka. The cottage was very inviting, cozy and tastefully decorated. All the amenities we needed were there. Plus, access was given to two kayaks...a real bonus. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Thank you, Jessica

We were up to visit Muskoka Beer Spa and this cottage was an easy 10 minutes away, and walking distance into Bala.
The cottage itself had everything we needed and was clean and modern inside. We didn't get to explore the dock much as it was still cold and off-season but looks like it would be a nice place to hang out and swim in the summertime. Would happily go back.

We were attending a wedding at the Kee to Bala and this location could not be more perfect. We rented the cottage for the weekend checking in Friday night. Very cozy, well equipped cottage with a beautiful view of the lake. It worked very well for our needs.

Very cute cottage… decor was thoughtful. Clearly not for anyone with small kids or handicapped. Many stairs down to dock and no where to sit once you are down there. It’s a steep walk back up and it is sad that the grounds around the cottage are neglected.

But the cool air doesn’t reach the rooms. The rooms all have little fans but ceiling fans are needed to move the air.
A little difficulty checking in and the cleaning crew were a little crusty when we arrived 20 minutes early trying to get the lock combo but the owner did call us a little while later and sorted things out.
It’s a comfy cottage but lacking and that’s the truth.
It was a rainy weekend and no outdoor coverage to even sit outside…2 nights was the right amount.

Stayed at this lovely cottage with my wife and 2 daughters for Father’s Day weekend. Cottage was very clean and the host was amazing. Jessica was so quick to correspond and very helpful. Excellent location too with a sandy beach 1 min drive from the dock! 10/10 would recommend!

We spent some time away as an adult family. Place was nice and cosy, the propane stove kept us warm! Bala is more a summer water sport area, but there's a nice walking tour of the town available online that's all-weather, and trails exist for snow mobiling.
Pluses: Pleasant decor, warm gas stove, nice view of river, responsive owner, well equipped kitchen with above average equipment.
Minuses: Very close year-round neighbour on one side. Cottage is on the small side for the number it sleeps.

Spent a quiet family weekend celebrating my husbands 60th birthday. The cottage was nice and toasty upon arrival . A welcoming feature on these cold winter days. Thank you Jessica . The cottage was very close to neighbours but since we weren’t spending time outdoors it wasn’t a big deal. Kitchen was well equipped, hot shower , however it was a small bathroom .
I would love to see this place in the fall.

The cottage was more than we expected with every imaginable equipment available. The kitchen was well supplied with accessories and dishes. The barbeque worked well and it was a good workout to get down to the dock and back up the hill. Felt like we were on an is and as it was so quiet and we saw no neighbours. A perfect spot for visiting all the nearby villages and attractions. We enjoyed some fabulous nearby restaurants, and found some great gift shops. The leaves had well begun to change colour making our drives spectacular. We would definitely visit again.

Lovely Lakeside Getaway
From booking to checkout, communication with the property manager was quick and easy. The property itself was very easy to get to and was exactly as depicted through the listing. The property was fully equipped, modern, and very clean. It is situated next to a small town which had a grocery store, local restaurants, and a LCBO. The only thing I would suggest is to have the cushions for the patio furniture brought in as they were left out by the previous guests and were soaked through. It took them nearly two days to dry, which in our case was ok since it did rain. All in all, 5 out of 5 from me!

Late winter/early spring is such an odd time of year and returning to Jess’ cottage after a day of messy outdoor fun was absolutely perfect.
