I want to emphazise that the the Northern Lights are predicted to peak in 2025. 2021 was an exceptional year and so far 2022 has had some incredible Auroras. Generally, the peak season begins August 20-April 15. Realize that the earlier and later in the season, the darkness is less, so you generally have less of a window to view the lights. It is warmer, but your viewing period is shorter. I was just above the arctic circle for a week (Sept 2-11) and had 2 phenomenal evenings of lights viewing 4 hours and 2 hours. If you want to have a good opportunity to view the lights, check out the UAF Geophysical Aurora Forecast which can help predict peak times to have success. That being said, I have had excellent viewing with a 2 kp level. This year there have been a number of days with a 6 kp level which is extraordinary.. If you are interested in viewing or photographing the lights, let me know what you are interested in and I will do my best to help. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast

This property is across from Pioneer Park and the Chena River bike/walking path. It is also on the busline (M-F) and is walking distance from the
The grocery store and UAF. We
7 didn't rent a car so the central location was essential.

Owner is wonderful and made me feel welcome before I even got there. Great location for the midnight sun run with the end at Pioneer Park. Had all the amenities needed.

This place was excellent! Easy to get to and right across from Pioneer Park, one of the highlights of our trip. Brian was easy to communicate with and provided us with several activity options including tickets to local ball games.
The apt was cute and clean and it was nice to have a place we could do laundry there.
Wish we would have extended our stay there and just drove to Chena Hot Springs instead of getting a room at the springs as Brian’s place was much more comfortable.
Would for sure stay here again should be get a chance to come back.

Brian is a thoughtful and welcoming host. Prior to our travel, he shared local information and tips for our trip. The large bed in the bedroom was so comfortable - better than in many hotels. Be aware that the couch does not convert to a bed, but it works well for an adult or child. There is a large camping cot in the closet, which we didn't use. I love having kitchen access, and we easily prepared several meals.
The apartment is above the garage. You must navigate stairs with your suitcases and bags.
Having garage access in the winter was amazing. I'm unfamiliar with snow and didn't realize how valuable that would be. No need to plug in your car or shovel snow!!! Wonderful.
The apartment is a bit rustic (which fits Fairbanks) but provided all the necessities. I would definitely stay her again.

I am an Alaskan from a remote community who flew to town for basketball and doctors appointments. Brian’s vrbo is the ideal location for getting things done in Fairbanks. While its central spot is in walking distance to a lot of things, the access to a garage was very nice to be able to park our truck. The apartment was just what we needed to find rest amidst checking things off the to-do list. Comfortable bed and bedding, nice kitchen appliances, and thoughtful miscellaneous supplies. Brian was excellent with communication! This vrbo is one we will consider stating at for future trips to town.

First time to Alaska - to see the lights and have flexibility. We wanted to avoid a rigid schedule set by a tour company, so we made our own arrangements in Fairbanks and Anchorage.
This second story apartment was ideal for just the two of us. Heated indoor parking and access to a washer/dryer were definite plusses in the winter.
The owner was very helpful in suggesting sites to see, and communicating promptly when asked questions.
Bathroom was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the apartment.
Overall, a solid 5-star stay at a reasonable price.
And ... we got to see the lights!
Two minor suggestions: a dishwasher and an upgrade to the two element electric countertop stove. I'd replace it with portable induction coil burners (maybe a two coil setup).

Brian is a top-notch host and his property is very quaint and comfortable. The place had everything we needed for our quick trip to Fairbanks to see the aurora borealis. The heated garage kept our rental car nice and warm, as well, as keeping the apartment warm on those cold nights.
We loved our stay. Highly recommend this property!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cute little A-frame building over a two stall garage. Water heater and forced air system worked great, even had a cute kitchen set-up with 2 burners for cooking. Lots of complementary items like soap, coffee, spices and linens, so don’t worry about packing all of the essentials. The building is located in the alley behind the dentists office, so there’s no highway noises despite being probably <100 yards from Airport Way. Perfect distance from town, grocery, and not a bad spot for traveling out of town to visit parks or view the Aurora.

8 day stay in cold Fairbanks. This upstairs garage apartment was warm and allowed us to eat in/prep lunches more so as last 4days of this Alaska trip has us eating out each day at Healy/Denali. Enjoyed eating at German food truck at Hoodoo’s brew pub in Fairbanks. We are active 70 yr olds who like to be in by 6 pm. Husband easily connected with You tube TV; good reception. Good sleep; plenty of bedding n blankets; shower head good. Garage kept our car warm. Washer-dryer: large sizes. Host has supplies for most any need: Soaps/paper products, coffee filters, bread boards/sharp knives, adequate kitchen prep space, seasonings and pantry items left by previous renters. Last day I saw first aid kit in bathroom cabinet. Much thought given to daily needs Location is easy access to stores, Catholic Church across the intersection, University of Alaska museum, Creamer Wildlife refuge, Antique Car museum, Pioneer Park -do walk through it across the street. Great sunsets from front room window. Saw northern lights at Cleary Summit pull off; full moon was too bright and the Aurora lights were low level intensity but still exciting. Drove to 12 mile summit, Chena Hot Springs, hiked Angel Rock Trail and Birch Hill’s Nordic center has a good hike too. Do head to North Pole’s Santa Shop, drive through Birch Hill Cemetery- unique how graves are decorated. Not the Marriott, but would rent again….. we kinda been here and done Fairbanks! Yay

Only minutes from the airport, it lived up to its name an apartment over a garage but it was clean and afordable the owner was great and stayed in communication from days before arrival through out thw stay and offered great advise.
The apartment is directly next to pioneer park which during the open season looked cool. Traveling from here is very convienant. I would recomend it for couples or business people on a budget

A cozy apartment close to everything. Not in the center of the city, but just close enough where you're just a few minutes away. The space has all of the basics you need, but more than anything, it was Brian that made our first trip to Alaska such a great experience. Without boring anyone with details, all I can say is that this girl from Hawaii who was a little clueless was able to experience the beauty of Alaska in a way she otherwise would not have because of the knowledgeful help of Brian. Thank you so much Brian, and we will let you know when we're coming back!!

Central Location
It was quieter than I expected, given its location near the highway. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to do (downtown, North Pole, fairgrounds). It was comfortable. The use of the garage was a plus given the cold (to us) weather.
