About this house rental
You’ll be grateful for all the space in this historic home in downtown Pacific Grove. A former event venue, it has multiple living areas on the first floor, including a den with books and games; a large dining room; a commercial kitchen; two side-by-side powder rooms; and a spacious patio with an outdoor fireplace. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one Queen and two doubles) along with one full bath (tub, walk-in shower, and separate toilet compartment). There’s so much to be thankful for in this location: just walk around the corner to cafes, restaurants, and shops—or head to the ocean and Lover’s Point a few blocks in the other direction. Aptly named, the gratitude in was the perfect respite for my family and I ( 6 adults) to enjoy Father’s Day. Will have to try the many local restaurants some other time because we fell in love with the kitchen and enjoyed meal prep and breakfast in the spacious dining room most nights.
Will definitely consider gratitude for my next stay in the area.

FYI, when we arrived a dinning room chair back was broken, half of the upstairs window shades were broken and one fell down, bathtub was dirty, half of the lights did not work.

My family and I just returned home from an amazing stay at the Grattitude Inn at Pacific Cove. The location could not get any better it was a quick walk to the beach and you turned the corner and you were directly downtown. We were also so close to the farmers market that happens on Mondays. The place was clean and fully stocked. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!

We loved staying at Gratitude Inn. Perfect location for our family! Thank you!

Great location. Cool property. Easy access to all Monterey and Carmel have to offer. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is a chef’s dream.

We enjoyed our time very much here. The location of the property was perfect. Close to the beach, and also downtown shops. We would stay here again.

This house is better than the pictures show! It was roomy and cozy at the same time. The kitchen is a dream and the music system was a great bonus. We spent hours around the outside fireplace enjoying the cool weather and card games. The house is located 15 yards to the shops and restaurants of Pacific Grove. And we could see the ocean from the sidewalk in front of the house. We look forward to the next time we get to stay here again!

When we first stumbled upon this house on Vrbo it seemed almost too good to be true. It was a girls trip we had planned and thought there was a catch! Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Michelle is the most thoughtful, and pleasant host. She provided us with all the information we needed doing our stay. The house is really comfortable, cozy, extremely clean and antique. The kitchen is commercial style with the cutest sitting nook and contains everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were also equipped with everything. I’m a tickler for towels and was so impressed with the high quality towels and bed linen that we were provided. We all felt like we were in our own home. The washer/dryer were high end and was such a convenient to return home with clean clothes we washed the towels we used daily. The outside patio area was cozy, the lights made the ambience even nicer while sipping on our wine.
We walked and toured Pacific Grove which had such amazing shops and restaurants especially(Aliottia’s Victoria Corner) if you decide to eat there please ask for the server LEXIE she provided PHENOMENAL service, Winston’s, Beach House Restaurant at Lovers Point and The Red House Cafe. The beach was gorgeous. We stayed (5) days went to Carmel by the Sea had brunch at Clint Eastwood’s restaurant the “Mission Ranch” did the 17 Mile drive, went to Pebble Beach, the Monterey Jazz Festival. If I could give more than (5) stars I definitely would have.

We stayed here including my wife, two year old, and my mother and it was a fantastic setup for everyone. The place is spacious and has a wonderful patio with gas fireplace out back The location couldn’t be better in Pacific Grove since everything is so walkable. We’ll try and get this house again next time we’re back in the area.

We are so happy that we found the Gratitude Inn for our recent Labor Day getaway in the Monterey Bay! The house is in a wonderful location, close to everything that you could want to do in the area, with shops and restaurants steps from the front door. We had everything we needed and more at this house that had modern amenities, all while keeping the home's vintage charm. Incredibly comfortable beds, a commercial style kitchen for any culinary adventure, an amazing library for reading and enjoying your morning coffee (I also did yoga here and it was perfect!). It was truly a wonderful stay! Thank you!

We had a great stay at this charming historic home. It was very clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed to cook basic meals, do laundry, etc. The location was super convenient, walking distance to Lover's Beach and the beach trail.
While I want to be clear that this is a lovely house, and we very much enjoyed our stay here, there are some things to be aware of: it's directly across the street from a construction site, where they're building a large commercial building. Noise and privacy weren't problems for us, but don't expect a quiet residential neighborhood. The bathroom light switches are odd, my kids weren't able to work the lights during our entire stay, so we were constantly helping turn lights on and off. And finally, the kitchen is enormous and well-equipped, but it's a commercial kitchen so some things are a bit strange, like the open drain under the sink that splashes your feet! (Which my kids thought was hilarious, of course.)
All that said, the home was clean, comfortable, and very convenient to everything we wanted to do. We had a lovely stay, thank you!

Perfect for a larger group that wants to have their own space but still be able to gather and spend time in community together. We were able to easily walk to so many different tourist locations. House amenities and space are amazing and we loved our stay. Only issue was there was so many flies on the patio that we were not able to go out there at all.

We had such a great time staying at this property. It was wonderful! Great location! Great space! We would stay again!

Everything listed about the property is accurate! The construction across the narrow street is not too bad at all. But parking is sparse! Only real parking is on the driveway, which can fit one car. Excellent location! The kitchen is bomb! Library nook is really cool.
Things to just be aware of before you go…
There is only one shower, as disclosed, and the water is very low flow, which is a bit annoying. Also there’s only ONE TV in the whole house, so if you like your TV time, this isn’t the ideal place for you.
The windows all seem to be painted shut, which is inconvenient, but not a total deal breaker.
But if you can get past those two things, this place is awesome!
I would stay here again.

Would definitely book again!

This is truly a great location and property. The property was exceedingly clean and large enough for my family to have space. We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen. Overall, a very good experience.

Best VRBO (or AirB&B for that matter) that we have ever stayed in. Thanks for everything!

The Gratitude Inn was the PERFECT place to stay and base out of for my family & friends who were in town for my son's Carmel Valley Vineyard wedding. The house is so spacious and serene. We LOVED the outside area, with fireplace and evening cafe lights. All amenities are top-notch, including the SONOS sound system. Although only one shower, this was never an issue for us. The kitchen was AMAZING; even though we didn't do any cooking, we had everything we needed for serving up appetizers & cocktails. The location of Gratitude Inn is ideal for walking into town for eating, shopping, & browsing. Most of our time spent there was on the weekend so the construction did not bother us. On our last morning there the only sound from the construction site was the occasional beeping of a truck in reverse. We needed to contact the Maintenance Man twice (code wouldn't work, iron & ironing board were missing) and his response was instantaneous! It's great to know that you'll never be left to fend for yourself should an issue arise. Our only suggestion would be for guests to bring their own boxes of tissues and napkins: tissues were a few mini packs of airline-type tissues and napkins were non-existent. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Gratitude Inn!!!!!

The place was musty and old smelling. Very dated, lacks a second full bath. Very limited parking. Not a top of the list place for sure!

Comfortable for 3 couples
This was a former restaurant so the kitchen was amazing (for us non-professional chefs!) The location is nice, just a couple blocks from Lover's Cove (we scuba!). Noise wasn't too bad despite construction site across the street. Some fixtures need repair, bulbs replaced etc. but overall very nice. We would book again!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this house! The location was perfect for us, being a close walk to downtown for food and snacks, as well as a couple blocks from the beach. The kitchen was nice option to have and it was plenty of space of all of us to spread out if needed. We plan on coming again in the future!

Spacious and rustic, comfortable and quiet
My family of 5 (3 young kids) loved staying here. We came down for Cali Roots and wanted something spacious, somewhat affordable and close to the beach. The kitchen is a former commercial kitchen of some sort and was absolutely amazing to cook in. Cozy backyard deck. Cozy indoors with big spacious dinner table. Comfortable beds. Bathrooms and shower and bath were great. Super quiet neighborhood. Code lock on the door was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay and would come back again!

The check-in process was extremely easy. The house is very comfortable and well-appointed. Plenty of soap, and location and towels.
The kitchen also has everything you need.
The location is great. There are amazing restaurants on on the street right above the house. Easy to walk to.
The Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row are 1 mile away along the beach.
The only complaint is the seagulls can be loud in the morning. There was one we named Phil who likes to sit on the roof and chat with his friends.
Beyond that, it is a quiet area.
Great location and host. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this property for our family of six. The commercial kitchen was fun to use, as well as the nice private deck. It is right in the heart of a very cool neighborhood with lots of shops and great restaurants. And the bay is only a few blocks away. Thanks for the great memories!

Gratitude Inn
I really enjoyed staying at the Gratitude Inn. I traveled solo, but felt that this space would be great place to spend time with friends or family. The house seems to be made for people to enjoy each other's company. The ad warned about the construction; but to be honest, once I was inside the home, it never bothered me. There are many options to dine close by and in the neighborhood, but the kitchen beckons one to cook. The Gratitude Inn is a gem and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Location is amazing. Place is a former restaurant so the layout is a bit weird and the bedrooms are very bright, thin walled and a bit loud. Hard to sleep in but extremely clean and easy.

Had a really nice stay here. The check in process was super easy and there was plenty of advance communication so I didn’t have to stress about figuring out how to check in. The property is a historic home, looks like it does in the pics, and it spotless. Everything you could want, from tons of kitchen supplies to plenty of TP, is there. Yes, there is some construction noise, but not much. It certainly didn’t bother me, and I was working for part of my visit. The seagull that liked to sit on the roof of the house was louder than the construction!
The property is on a narrow street; it is a little difficult to get in and out of the driveway, but that’s not a big deal. The only constructive feedback I would provide is that it would be nice to have more curtains in the house. The living room, bedrooms and front door have window coverings but other windows didn’t. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay and I enjoyed my visit.
