About this chalet rental
3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms house on the slopes of Tyro. Walk out of the door and strap your boards or skis on and go !!!!
We supply all bathroom and bedroom linens, soaps, coffee K-cups, creamers, towels, full kitchen supplies. WIFI, smart TV's.
This is a perfect location for skiing in the winter and hiking in the spring and summer along with being very close to great breweries and wineries. Very quiet and an amazing sunrise view over the mountain.
We are pet friendly and I have always allowed pets without charging but this was being abused. Excessive hair, pee stains, even scratching up the carpets became regular. We ask that if your dog sheds excessively or is not potty trained that you leave them at home. We will have to charge you extra if we find pee stains and excessive hair. Thank you for understanding.

Loved the place! Location is great - although the slope wasn’t accessible because of conditions. Regardless, it is very close to the lodge. Beds were comfy and the rooms were functional. Exactly was our group needed. Host is easy to get a hold of and is very accommodating.

We had an amazing stay at this slope side rental at Wintergreen VA Ski Resort! The ski-in ski-out access was incredibly convenient, making our winter getaway hassle-free. The host was super responsive, addressing all our questions promptly. A perfect choice for a ski vacation!

Great property, very comfortable. We enjoyed the location and convenience to the slopes... even with Lower Tyro closed. Everything you could want for a mountain stay! The home is very nice and the owners are prompt to respond. Planning a return visit!

Our family ski weekend got canceled due to Wintergreen ending their season due to warm weather, but thankfully we were still able to enjoy our time in a beautiful home. The sunrises from Treeloft are breathtaking. So many "extras" such as additional toiletries, snacks, coffee, etc. were provided. We had our grandchildren with us, and they took advantage of some of the games and puzzles. There was plenty of firewood and we enjoyed cozy fires. Ironically, our first full day we spent there we were under a winter weather advisory. It rained, sleeted and was foggy ALL day. Because we were in such an idyllic setting, we were able to spend a perfect day with family and enjoyed watching the wintry mix from the comfort of indoors. The fog was so thick, we couldn't even see the slope outside our window. The grandkids said it was like we were perched in the clouds. All of those "extras" sure came in handy!
Check-in was easy and convenient. Communication response with the owner, Jimmy, was immediate. The beds were extremely comfortable...much more so than I would expect. The grandkids loved the spiral staircase and the loft bedroom.
Treeloft is an ideal place to enjoy time with family...we hope to be back again!

Great location, wonderful home with all you could need and more!

The house was as billed. Pictures are accurate. It is a bit cold and the mini-split has a hard time keeping up. But there is plenty of wood for the fire. Kitchen space is fine. I would prefer a traditional drip coffee maker over the Keurig, which is all that is available. Views are nice. Beds are comfortable. It is technically ski in/ski out but snow was not being blown on lower Tyro for some reason, causing us to have to drive up tge mountain. That was a bummer, but no fault of the owner. All-in-all a good trip.

Great little getaway for Christmas!!!!

Property is perfect for a ski trip (on slope, ski in/out), but also a great location for a summer break -- beautiful view of sunrises, quick access to several trailheads and overlooks, close to resort center, etc. Place was very clean with plenty of room for 4 people and 2 dogs (didn't even use the upstairs bedroom). We stayed in for most meals, and the kitchen had everything we needed. A slight hiccup at check-in was resolved immediately by the owner. We've recommended this property to several friends and family members.

We had a great Labor Day weekend in Wintergreen. The house was conveniently located; beds were comfy; house was cozy with nice deck, fireplace (although we did not use it). We were there with our son and his wife. Perfect lay-out although you could add more people with the loft bedroom. If you skied, slopes were right out door.

Fun weekend getaway
Fun weekend getaway to visit wineries in Charlottesville/Crozet! Lots of steps (more than we realized), but doable for our group. Jimmy answered all of our questions promptly and had everything we possibly needed available for us.

Great location
Excellent location but we were late in the snow season and we couldn’t ski out of the property. The place was very nicely decorated and updated. I had a little trouble checking in

This is your mountain spot!
We stayed for 2 nights to ski and were more than happy from start to finish. Communication was easy - house is well stocked - and it truly is a ski in/ski out. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep, eat, and relax. Linens and towels are high quality and they even supply extra toiletries if you forgot something of your own. These are the homes you want to rent again and again.

Nice Location!
Property was exactly as pictured. The views were extraordinary and the extra amenities - soaps, shampoos, coffee pods, creamers and bottle of Chardonnay were over the top. We could see the skiers from our deck. (This is especially nice for Grandparents to watch family members ski.) The furniture was comfortable--only one comment (We could have used more seating for meals ) Good ski-in/out for intermediate skiers. House is located just after Tequila Turn-off on lower Tyro. We definitely will consider renting again!!

Wonderful winter ski weekend!
Perfect property for ski in/out! We loved staying at Treeloft for our annual ski vacation to Wintergreen! There was plenty of room for two families, and everything was provided to make our stay as stress free as possible to include firewood, coffee, creamers, laundry detergent, shampoo, and conditioner, etc….
Jimmy was so friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We definitely plan on staying agajn next year!

Beautiful views, cozy and comfortable house.
We were here to attend a wedding in the area. This was nicely decorated comfortable place to stay. Nice touches included a Keurig with lots of pod choices and creamers as well as baskets of supplies in the bathrooms in case we had forgotten to pack essentials like toothbrushes. This house is high up on the mountain which provided for great views but also occasional very foggy trips up and down the mountain roads. Overall, we would highly recommend this lovely cabin.

Not a bad house
It’s a cute little house, could probably use some updates. Hot water runs out pretty quick when showering, the walk up the hill to the door is a bit rough esp having older people with slight mobility issues. Gorgeous views from the little deck out back with nice chairs to sit in. Mixed reviews on the beds, some of us were fine, some of us were not very comfortable at all (queen beds off the kitchen). Free bottle of wine was a nice touch. Contacting Jimmy was quick and easy when needed, getting into the house was easy. Parking was ok, but it seemed to be pretty crowded in the morning and some of the drivers made it difficult to get out of the driveway. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay. It was close to all the wineries we were visiting.

Mini-Vacation
The house was suitable for our needs. Check-in was simple, the homeowner was prompt in responding to messages. The parking leaves something to be desired, prior to unpacking I was beating on neighboring doors to move vehicles. Overall, it was a quaint little place to get some R & R.

Perfect getaway house
The house was well-maintained, clean, and had everything we needed. I appreciated the coffee supply and bottle of wine greeting. Sitting with coffee on the deck while catching the sunrise was a nice morning ritual for me. I stayed in August for 5 days with my two young adult kids, and this was our first trip to Wintergreen. We enjoyed nearby hiking, sliding on Pauls Creek natural slide, berry picking at Critzer Farm, James River Runners (tubing - about an hour drive away). Everyone had their own space in the house, so we had times to just retreat and enjoy some time alone as well. Thanks to the owners for giving us this opportunity to enjoy Wintergreen.

We had a pleasant stay at Treetop, and there were some very nice touches, but there were definitely some simple improvements that could be made to improve the overall experience. We were happily greeted by a nice bottle of Virginia Chardonnay and a plentiful supply of coffee. The cabin was clean and comfy in a nice setting. There were plentiful wine glasses and a nice large set of plates, but no small plates, glass bowls or tall tea glasses. I may be a little particular, but I’m not a fan of eating or drinking out of plastic. Also, no vegetable peeler or ice cream scoop. Otherwise, the kitchen was adequate enough. (If you like to cook, bring your own knives .)There could be a great view off the back deck, but trees were overgrown blocking the view of the range. A little trimming and it would be great. I suspect that in winter it’s just fine with no foliage on the trees. Decks were nice, but the grill was dirty, ash can was left full, and the chairs on the back deck were dirty and had to be cleaned before we could use them. We had to clean the grill before using it too. Exterior of the cabin could use a good cleaning and paint job.We had the luck of a cold front that came through, so opened most of the windows for a pleasant experience. Some screens were missing, and one had holes. No AC, but from what Jimmy said there was one on order.Bedrooms and beds were comfortable, but no place to hang clothes. The Master bedroom had a locked closet and nowhere to put clothes beyond a small bedside nightstand. So, we had to live out of our suitcases for the week. :( The washing machine was the smallest thing I have ever laid eyes upon and was ancient but worked. Don’t plan on doing much laundry when you’re there.Flatscreens in each bedroom and large one in living area were really nice. Also excellent was the water pressure and showerheads in the small but clean, newly re-done bathrooms. We were there in mid-June so activities included lots of great hikes and climbs, pool time, trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and visits to breweries and cideries. The flora and fauna of the area abounds and is wonderful to observe.Jimmy promptly answered questions and set up keycode for entry and was pleasant to deal with.All-in-all we had a good stay. Wintergreen, though known for winter fun can be a great time in the summer too.

Mountain Retreat
A cool little mountain get-away. Had a rustic feel with modern conveniences. Very clean and well stocked. You do not have to worry about forgetting anything. They’ve got you covered. Very quiet neighborhood inside the Wintergreen Resort. While you cannot play golf at Devil’s Knob (members only), we played at Stoney Creek and enjoyed it very much. Breathtaking views and hikes on the mountain. Breweries and more beautiful scenery in the valley. We had a great 4 day weekend!

Perfect location, hospitable host, relaxing getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway. This is the first time away from home during the pandemic and we desperately needed a safe change of scenery. Jimmy could not have been more communicative or accommodating. The house was adorable and cozy and exactly what was described and what we needed. The views were breathtaking. Everything from check-in and beyond was very easy and there was even a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. We definitely intend to come back to this cozy little place.

Can’t beat location!
This stay was amazing both location and host! The connivence of being able to ski in/out allowed us to thoroughly enjoy our days on the mountain. Jimmy is an excellent host who provided clear instructions and was readily available if needed for clarifications with the property. The kitchen had everything needed from pots and pans to coffee in the morning. We definitely enjoyed our first stay at Wintergreen because of this property and plan on booking again!
