Friendly Staff, excellent in Dining Room, very good food.

Lovely inside and out. Log fires, big dining room, spacious bedroom with plenty of storage for clothes.
Bathroom was a nightmare. Very small and strangely arranged with the washbasin being separate. Also took ages to get cold water and kettle took ages to boil.

The set up of the room was unexpected, upon entering you’re in a room with two chairs and tea/coffee making facilities and a separate bathroom, then you go upstairs to the actual bedroom. This made it feel spacious. The location was pretty great if you’re exploring that area of the Cotswolds with a car, unsure on public transport but we did see a bus pass by til pretty late heading into Banbury.
The actual pub part of the Deddington Arms was lovely, reasonable prices and a good variety of places to sit whether you wanted a quiet drink or to be closer to the tv showing sports.
Breakfast was included with our stay and it was delicious, very prompt service from quiet staff (which is welcoming in the morning in my opinion) and we would all happily recommend the Full English.
The lady who checked us out in the morning was lovely, and though I had some complaints about the stay I found her too nice to complain to 😹.
The main bugbear for our stay was the emergency light in our bedroom. It was a bright green light that was on constantly and led to the room being far too bright throughout the night for us to get any real sleep. This was in room 18, our friends were in room 19 next door with the same room set up and whilst they had the emergency light, it was not lit up so they slept well. We only got two hours sleep because of it unfortunately.
Rating a 7 overall due to the rest of the stay being good, it’s my fault for not complaining about the light so I’ve no idea how the hotel would have dealt with the issue had I raised it.

The restaurant side of the Deddington Arms was excellent. The breakfast catered for all needs including gluten free. We ate twice in the evening and both meals were delicious. Shout out to the chef. Special mention as well to Solomon and Adele who were especially attentive. The location was perfect and we enjoyed walking round Deddington. Parking at the Hotel was very good and off road.
My Mums room was very comfortable and spacious with the walk in shower for her which we asked for. Our room was rather disappointing. The bed was very comfy but both rooms need updating but ours especially so. The shower head needed replacing as the water coming out was one torrent. The bath was very narrow to stand in for showering and although it was clean, some of the tiles looked mouldy. The windows needed cleaning as you coukd hardly see out of them. I only drink green tea so I couldn't have a hot drink. Lucky I had bought my own. Usually hotels have a better selection including hot chocolate and biscuits. I understand the Deddington is a old and quaint hotel but it can still keep all the charm, it just needs to modernise the rooms and bathrooms.

Lovely restaurant/pub area with open fires.

Lovely quiet location. Our room was at the front overlooking the road but still quiet. Room was spacious and the bed was large and comfortable. Food was fantastic.
Decor and furnishings upstairs a bit tired in places, hallways didn't look the cleanest. Not a big issue though.

Country pub B&B with nice pub grub in the evening and good quality breakfast. My room was clean and comfortable. I would stay again.
Although my room was very nice, the room above had loud and squeaky floorboards , and of course the guests above came back at 1 am and proceeded to march up and down.
The wi-fi doesn't work in the rooms you have to go to reception to get a signal.

The location is very pleasant with plenty of hanging baskets etc. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable.
There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu for an evening meal. Seems lots of pizzas and pasta. The drinks are quite expensive and felt you were being rushed. Had to ask for a plug for the bath and extra milk. Was given a large container for the milk but only a a small amount of milk in it. Not enough tea bags and milk. Advertised there was also biscuits but no biscuits.

Staff were friendly enough, although when some questions were asked about local facilities, they did not know.
The Bed was too hard, and I did not sleep well, for the 3 nights I stayed.
Prices for an evening meal, were extremely over flated and not much choice, which resulted in me having to eat out at other places.
Options for Breakfast and evening meal.

All good.
The restaurant wasn't open. That might have been my fault and I didn't notice.

Woodwork in room looks a bit battered.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly young staff.
We didn't have dinner at the hotel, but have eaten in the restaurant when we have been in Deddington on other occasions. The meals were always excellent.
We found the night entrance extremely handy as we usually returned after the pub/restaurant had closed.
The room was rather warm. The shower was excellent but it would have been safer to have had a bathmat available for use to prevent slipping, and also, for older guests, maybe a bar to hold on to when getting in and out of the bath (easily attached).

nothing

Breakfast was very good. Bed was comfy. Shower over bath was hard work for me as I have mobility problems - would have helped if there had been a grab rail over bath. Nice little village and handy for Oxford, M40 etc.
No good if you can't climb stairs - no lift. WiFi in rooms was very erratic and no mobile signal at all.

Excellent breakfast, good variety of drinks.
Bar area cold.
Buffet breakfast cold at 9.00am

Nice shower. Nice location. Sky Sports in the bar area.
Wifi does not work. Breakfast service was disappointing, the staff didn't seem to care about providing a good service or stocking up items when they ran out . Room was on two levels, it wasn't helpful having the bathroom on a different floor when pregnant. Parking limited at the hotel.

Lovely Inn in a charming village- quiet, large room, great food, free parking.
I liked everything and will be back!
