Au calme, chambre et salle d'eau très propres, lit excessivement confortable et de qualité, le personnel est très gentil. Le grand plus le roof top, très appréciable en ville. Je vous recommande cet établissement si vous êtes en transit à Colombo.
45 mn d'attente pour avoir son petit-déjeuner alors que l'horaire avait été défini la veille, et que nous étions les seuls à prendre notre petit-déjeuner, mais il était très bon ainsi que le repas du soir.

Le lit etait très confortable, la chambre et la salle de bains très propres. L'hôtel est bien situé. Nous sommes arrivés par train de nuit à 4h du matin et nous avons pu directement avoir notre chambre ce qui a sauvé notre journee du lendemain. Fortement recommandé

Amazing rooftop to watch the sunset, the room it very simple but clean and with an AC. Great value for money. As soon as we arrived we were greeting with two bottles of water and found 2 extra in the room (sometimes there’s none). That’s an extra mile from a friendly staff.
Location is so so as it’s next to a canal which can be really smelly. But nothing to complain about as you won’t feel it while at the hotel. More if you wonder around.

The Den 23 is the best accomodation we've been to in our four months travel. Felix is an absolute legend. Never seen a host more committed and determined to make his guests feel like home. The roof top is spectacular. Beds are super large and comfy. Good location in a quite street and a short tuktuk ride from main sights. If you're in Colombo, don't think twice and book this place.

Es war ein ganz toller Aufenthalt und eine perfekte erste Unterkunft in Sri Lanka. Felix und sein ganzes Team waren äußerst hilfsbereit und ständig um unser Wohl bemüht. Felix hat sein kleines Hotel perfekt in Schuss und man merkt, dass er mit ganzer Seele dabei ist.
Genau diese Seele strahlt das Hotel auch aus, es ist sehr sauber und die Dachterrasse auf zwei Etagen ist einfach der Hammer. Dort haben wir auch sehr lecker und landestypisch gefrühstückt und zu Mittag gegessen. Felix nahm sich auch die Zeit, etwas zu den Gerichten zu erklären.
Die Lage ist auch gut, der Viharamahadevi Park ist fußläufig erreichbar und für alles andere gibt es an der Straße vor der Unterkunft sofort Tuktuks abzugreifen.
Kurzum, rundum empfehlenswert, schade, dass wir nur einen Tag da waren :)

Super Unterkunft für einen Aufenthalt in Colombo. Wir haben unsere erste Nacht in Sri Lanka im Den23 verbracht und wurden sehr herzlich von Felix Willkommen geheißen. Er gab uns Tips für die Weiterreise an die Hand und kümmerte sich um ein Frühstückspaket, da wir schon 5.30 Uhr am nächsten Morgen los mussten. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und das Bett bequem. Man kommt schnell an die wichtigsten Orte in Colombo.

Appreciated being able to pay for the room on card - often not possible in sri lanka which can be very inconvenient!
Useful to have a bar/restaurant in the building (although we didn't use it much except to buy water and beer)

Found the bed/pillow a bit uncomfortable - ended up with a bit of neck pain. Clearly I'm getting old. Also the bed was very loud and creaky, which was surprising as generally the place looks very new.
The location isn't amazing but it's fine, tuk tuks to wherever you need to go are affordable and quick. There are a few restaurants around if you need.
Would be good to have a fridge in the room.
Limited Internet was our biggest issue - we didn't realise this beforehand, and as we needed the internet for work this was a big problem for us. You get a voucher for 2GB per day (which wasn't enough for my partner), but also a lot of the time the Internet didn't even work at all. This was surprising.
I believe you can buy more Internet vouchers, but we just ended up going to cafes because the signal was bad anyway so we didn't see the point in paying for more vouchers.

I am usually very critical, but I have nothing bad to say. I was allowed to have a sooner check-in when I came, there is 24/7 access to tea, coffee and water on the 24/7 opened excellent rooftop terrace. It is possible to have breakfast/lunch/dinner not so spicy, in the amount as much as you want and could eat and tasting delicious. They stored my luggage after I checked out and when I came back for it I could go to have tea on the terrace before departure. Felix helped me to find the best way to places I wanted to go and was very friendly, as well as the rest of the staff.

There was not a single thing we could dislike about the Den. The staff were so kind and friendly and their hospitality was some of the best we have experienced so far in Sri Lanka. Felix is truly an outstanding host.
The Sri Lankan breakfast was so delicious too. The beds were huge and comfortable and the shower products smelled great!
The views from the roof garden were so special and we enjoyed reading in the sheltered seating area.

Die Unterkunft ist wirklich unglaublich sauber, sowohl die Schlafzimmer, als auch die Bäder. Es gab sogar Duschgel & Shampoo zur Verfügung. Die Zimmer haben auch eine Klimaanlage. Das beeindruckendste ist die Gastfreundschaft mit der man empfangen wird. Sowohl das Personal, als auch vor allem Felix sind sehr sehr freundlich & sehr hilfsbereit. Es wird auf jeden Wunsch eingegangen. Er gab und sogar seine Handynummer für die Weiterfahrt mit dem Hinweis, dass wir bei jedem Problem jederzeit anrufen könnten. Es war wirklich ein super Start in den Urlaub, wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt.
Es gibt einen Supermarkt der innerhalb von 1 Minute zu Fuß zu erreichen ist, nur Restaurants beispielsweise sind etwas weiter weg.
Vielleicht noch als minimaler Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre ein weiteres Handtuch im Bad, da die Dusche ebenerdig ist & wir so den Boden beim duschen schnell nass gemacht haben, sowie fürs Hände waschen wäre noch ein kleines Handtuch perfekt. Das ist aber absolut meckern auf hohem Niveau & nur ein minimaler Hinweis.

Great spot. Comfy rooms, comfortable bed. Aircon. Roof terrace with seating, you could hang out, covered area too with games etc. You could get breakfast there although we just had coffee.
Staff were lovely. We parked our Tuk Tuk under cover so it felt safe.
I think you can use the kitchen too but we didn’t.
They have a lift.
Some noise as the doors bang quite loudly.

Hotel is run by lovely Felix, who was very helpful during our stay. It has all necessary amenities. We loved the rooftop terrace and had all our meals there, the view is amazing and there are also board games you can use or yoga mats to exercise on! There's water dispenser which was very nice.
The only thing not working was the WiFi. It is limited to only certain amount of data and in the end we couldn't even connect to it. we had data on our mobiles so it was not a problem, but I know that for some it might be.

Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und ordentlich. Man konnte sich in der großen offenen Küche selbst etwas kochen und den Kühlschrank benutzen. Die Dachterrasse ist klasse.
Alles sehr freundlich gestaltet.
Herausragend ist der Manager Felix, der super freundlich und hilfsbereit ist. Er gibt sogar gedruckte Infos zur weiteren Reiseplanung weiter. Absolut empfehlenswert! Frühstück und Abendessen kann man dazubuchen. War lecker.
Tee und Kaffee gibt es rund um die Uhr.
Unser Zimmer 55 war doch sehr klein, kaum Ablagefläche, Bad OK.

Lovely modern and clean. The staff was so friendly and made you feel like a family member. Felix has got to be the best host ever!!! He made me a special celebration for my birthday and also took time to help me rearrange my travel plans so I could experience Sri Lankan in the best way. His hotel is a gem!
