Weekendje Giethoorn

Perfecte locatie .... drukte overdag, maar s'avonds rustig en relaxed. Je moet natuurlijk geluk hebben met het weer.

Eigenlijk was het zoals verwacht.

Beautiful Lovely Clean and Cozy place

Beautiful Lovely Clean and Cozy place. Have great facilities for vacation. Center to everything just located near the museum. Free and secure Parking in the backyard. Tasty and photogenic breakfast. Very kind freiendly and helpful host.

In case that you have big luggages. You better ask the host to leave all big luggage in their 1st floor area instead of taking it upstairs. And just pick some essential stuff up to your living area on the 2nd floor. By the way, it's not a big deal and our family love this place very much.

Séjour inoubliable

La maison est vraiment idyllique. Elle est idéalement située en plein centre de Giethoorn avec une vue de rêve depuis le salon. C'est un séjour hors du temps , plein de charme et loin du stress de la ville . La maison est parfaitement équipée et la décoration est très belle. Nos hôtes ont été adorables et disponibles , nous avons pu profiter de leurs succulents petits déjeuners faits maison et de leurs précieux conseils pour visiter la ville et la région . Merci pour les délicates attentions à l'égard de nos enfants , elles ont adoré ce séjour autant que nous . Nous repartons avec des étoiles pleins les yeux et pleins de magnifiques souvenirs grâce à Janny et Koen . Nous reviendrons très vite !

Absolument rien . Tout était parfait .

In the heart of Giethoorn

1. The location. Everything was in a few meters reach which was great for my handicapped friend. 2. The cleanness 3. Had a parking garage 4. The owners were very very nice and tried everything in their power to make our stay comfortable 5. The communication was very fast through WhatsApp and Janny answered all the questions very fats and swiftly 6. The property has its own front and back garden which you can enjoy every time of the day 7. The kitchen is well equipped but we did not use it. They made us breakfast every morning which was really nice. 8. They sent us the exact location so that we reached there without any problem 9. We did not stay the last night as I had to be at work the next day. They bought us some chocolates in compensation for the night. That was one of the best things that I have experienced throughout my travels. Thank you for being so thoughtful. We really enjoyed our stay.

1. The stairs were a bit steep and you should be careful, which is quite usual in Dutsch houses

A dream location

A beautiful location with wonderful hosts. We could see the canal out the kitchen window so we could watch the boats go by. It was right in the middle of everything making it easy to find a restaurant, go shopping, take walks. We were given the entire 2nd floor. The breakfasts were amazing and served in the dining room that looks out at the canal. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly with great English since we don't speak Dutch.

The only thing that I would warn others about is that there are steep stairs up to the apartment. We were fine with it, but I could see someone with difficulty going up and down stairs having a problem with them.

A wonder within a wonder.

We stayed for 4 nights at this lodging. Everything was amazing but the kindness and generosity of the hosts really stood out. Janny and Koen are wonderful hosts, 2 perfect persons for the role they decided to embrace. Giethoorn is a small wonder and this very central accommodation the perfect anchor point to start exploring its full cuteness and almost-theme-park vibe. Just recently, the hosts have changed the name of their lodging, emphasizing the “with breakfast” on the property name on Booking.com and they were quite right to do so, as our breakfasts were little feasts and yours will be too, since the hosts make a point of asking what your preferences are. So that you have an idea, Koen made different style eggs every single day and, in the last day, presented us with a “pannenkoek” small banquet that made us quite understand why their grandchildren love to visit them so much 😊. Our oldest son and our daughter-in law are soon to be going to New Zealand, the antipodes of Portugal where we live. They will reside there for a 3-year-minimum stay and this trip of ours with them before heading back to Portugal for a couple of weeks more still together was a farewell one, for our family. I can not but fully endorse this lodging for a most pleasant stay in Giethoorn, while fully thanking Janny and Koen for having so strongly contributed to the deep bliss and happiness of these farewell days with our close family. “Bedankt en het allerbeste voor jullie twee”.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved the adorable couple that runs the place and the great location as well. The hosts were very kind and gave us a lovely homemade breakfast - loved the experience!

Exceptional

Amazing location, within easy walking distance to coffee shopsz restaurants and attractions. Beautiful view of the main canal. Janny was extremely friendly and thoughtful, would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a getaway in Giethoorn.
