The bed was comfortable to sleep in and this place had the basics. Ok view but it’s just above the loading area so it’s busy. We went the first week of July so we had to open the windows at night and use the fan because there’s no AC. No biggie though. The pictures look nice however, the place is smaller and darker than pictured. There would be room to walk around the bed in the master if they went to a simple headboard instead of the oversized piece they have now. I’m always annoyed when you pay a cleaning fee and they ask you to take out the trash. I wouldn’t go back but the experience wasn’t bad.

Our family stayed for an extended weekend vacation in June. We enjoyed it a lot. The condo was clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was like new. The bedrooms were a little tight. The beds were really too big for the rooms. Bathrooms were OK. Nothing fancy and a little dated, but clean and functional.
Our biggest complaint (not a big one) is that we had to park a good ways from the condo and take a shuttle to and from our cars. It wasn't horrible, but you have to add an extra 15 minutes or so to your plans when driving anywhere.
All in all, it was a great home base for our mountain adventures. We would definitely return.
4.1
The shuttle service was great. The Bus over to the Slopes at Sugar Mountain was great! The Condo was clean. The view is pretty. Pool area was nice! The only thing that needed improvement was…Needs more towels! & the complimentary Shampoo, Conditioner & body soap all had water added to them. This can cause bacteria to grow. They really need to buy new stuff & not add water to them to make it last longer! Thank goodness we brought our own toiletries!

Not as advertised at all!!!!! Property is dark and gloomy. Not clean for such big cleaning fee. Sleeps 6 yet they only leave 4 towels. Sleeps 6 but only provide one coffee cup to drink from. Pots and pans are so warped you can’t even cook. They advertise pullout couch yet don’t provide sheets blankets and or pillows for the pullout couch. They advertise two parking spots, but what they don’t tell you is you have to park your vehicle at a lower portion of the mountain and take a transportation bus up to the property. There was a snowstorm and they only had one transportation bus .. took over 2 1/2 hours to get to our vehicle with our luggage. Total disappointment in this entire trip will never book at this property ever again. Contacted the owner twice with no response either time.

Communication with the caretaker was excellent but had a hard time staying. Many lights were not turning on, there was no AC and master bath was clogged with water ( not able to take shower 😑). I would rate 2 for cleaniness and 5 for the access to the property.

A beautiful updated condo with awesome layered views. Love setting on the balcony people watching.

Could really use a deep clean. New towels and pillow cases in guest bedroom. The he balcony is pretty noisy with the shuttle constantly coming back and forth. The master has a TV but it’s not hooked up to anything.
4.1
The accommodations were nice. They have very big furniture in small rooms, but it works if you’re skinny. Dark walls and not enough lighting to achieve the brightness in the online photos. The clouds receded a bit so we could see the mountains. Looks like the perfect ski lodge. Loved the personnel and everyone we met. Was a little surprised that the cleaning fee price included us stripping the beds, gathering the linens, & starting the dishwasher. The exterior of the building is being prepped for paint. May 2023

This is our second stay at Sugartop resort. We really appreciate the amenities (pool, hot tub, sauna, steamroom) after a long day on the slopes. The condo was well kept and had all needed supplies.

Had a great time
Condo layout was perfect, comfortable and location was ideal
The staff and people were very positive and helpful

Overall Sugar Top was very enjoyable & the view! The Mountain View is gorgeous!

What a week!
Lots of crazy weather but once the winter storm passed after 2 days we got to enjoy amazing 3 days of skiing.
I suggest investing in new towels for bath rooms, kitchen and swimming pool.
Wonderful set up and patio mountain view!
Thank you

Traveled with my husband 13 and 17 year old sons and extra 17 year old friend- was enough room for everyone and building is very sturdy and soundproof! We enjoyed the dry sauna at end of ski day! Tracy in housekeeping answered our questions at warp speed and was very sweet.

We did enjoy our stay here, but you could definitely tell the owners had a dog. Every time we walked in it smelled horrible. They were also doing renovations on the outside so our view was blocked from all the equipment hanging from the windows and the balcony was unusable because of the renovations.
4.1
Close location to activities, great views of the mountains. Nice indoor pool for the kiddos

Very noisy construction going on. No AC. Could not open door or windows for ventilation.
Tub did not drain properly. Remote did not work on the TV. The volume was very loud and we couldn’t turn it down. The little fans were noisy. However the property manager was fantastic. The next day we had a working remote, maintenance had the drain working and the contractors had removed the wood keeping the door shut and she found the balcony furniture even though the table was broken. The renters should be told in advance that there is going to be a lot of noise. The stay would have been a disaster without the property manager. We could not have stayed.

Over all, everything was good.

Overall the condo was very clean and nicely decorated. The only complaints we had were that the rooms were very small (barely enough room to fit our suitcases) and that there were plenty of lamps, but no lightbulbs. It felt very dark. Also there was not a lot of communication with owner or property manager. We had a lot of questions that didn’t get answered until well into our trip. Also it would have been nice for the property manager to have put the heat on when the temp was going to be 6 degrees upon arrival. We were unable to use the fireplace, so it took a while for it to warm up. Other than those things we enjoyed our stay. With a little effort those things could be corrected for future occupants.

Picked it because the interior looked nice & the week we needed was available. The only communication I received was from vrbo and auto-emails from Evolve, the messaging system this booking uses. I sent several questions that were unanswered. Had to call & request info.
The details: This unit is on the first floor. The check-in and swimming pool is one floor down in Lobby. Balcony faces the front of the building. This unit is in the middle just slightly over from the main lobby entrance. So, from the master bedroom, there is always light from the parking lot and people from the shuttle that runs 24hrs. They can see you, you can see them. The furniture is nice, but most items too big for the space. The condo was built 1983-1984 and no matter how much you pretty it up, there's no escaping that era. The kitchen is a room, cut off from the condo except the opening. Nice touches- appreciate the night lights in the master bedroom and bathroom. Be aware the shower in the bathtub is extremely small/narrow. The shower head is at a little over 5ft. You get one bath towel, one smaller towel. I reached for the towel and immediately realized it smelled like sweat. Touching it gingerly, I noticed it had stains on it as well. I looked at the other towel and noticed it was very wrinkled. It had triangular crinkles in it like it was sitting in an laundry hamper! So it seems as if the cleaning person got confused and hung up dirty towels! So we bought towels and washed them and the ones in the room. When a listing states linens are provided, I don't think to bring towels. Dining table light has a dimmer switch but does not dim, it is very bright. Lots of mirrors in this unit. Appreciate the fabric bed because it looks pretty, but not the best choice for a rental for dust and allergies. Same with the rug in the living room. The parking- the place was pretty full, but not anywhere near capacity. I had called Sugartop and the person had told me that Lot A was close to the building & walkable with a few bags. Well, when you arrive you get a placard for your vehicle. If you are renting, you will get a yellow placard and that only allows you to park at lots D-G. Too far/unsafe to walk- the road is uphill, curved w/no shoulder. The shuttle drivers were good. Place is iconic, glad we stayed just to satisfy my curiosity. Interior hallways remind me of The Shining. There is ONE washer&dryer per floor. Fitness ctr is worn, NOT "state of the art"!!

Beautifully furnishings but oversized for bedrooms and dining room. Living room furniture was of superior quality, comfort and size. No TV in master bedroom. Washer and dryer is located on the end of the floor at a cost of $1.25 per load. The unit does not have central air conditioning.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sugar Mountain facility. There was plenty of cookware and utensils available for our our needs. The beds were comfortable and plenty of blankets for the cool fall evenings. The only downside of the stay was there was actually too much furniture for the space in the bedrooms. It was a little tight to squeeze around the bed and oversized furniture. Still all in all a great stay. The facility had lots of buggy's to move your belongings from the car to the room. The van service was really good to pick you up and take you back to your car whenever you needed them. Parking was not adjacent to the facility. I would highly recommend this accommodations to others.

All properties I've ever enjoyed were exactly as described. This one missed acknowledging that there was no A/C.
This time of year with limited fresh air and no climate controls to keep the property at a average comfortable environment was impossible. Two table top fans were there ,one was very noisy. Entire stay was fifteen minutes. Disappointing
Another misnomer was the fact a lower lot for our vehicle and a rather long distance from the building and having to waiting on a shuttle .
Still awaiting a response on a refund.

We have been to the area multiple times and always wanted to stay in the big condo on the hill. We were not at all disappointed. Our room was clean and comfortable. I felt right at home. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our favorite part was the views, they were breathtaking. We will come back and stay whenever possible.

We stayed for 10 days and really enjoyed everything, from the accommodations to the area. The only downside was the parking arrangements. There was access to your car by a shuttle, but still not the same as getting to your car near your condo. The people at the front desk we very accommodating and always pleasant. There are several good places to eat or grocery stores if you want to cook yourself. Loved going to the Linville winery on weekend to hear the music in a beautiful setting also going to Blowing Rock for the day was fun, many shops and places to eat. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The condo was exactly as pictured
Very pretty farmhouse chic decor. The beds were very comfortable. The unit doesn't have air conditioning but fans were provided in each bedroom. It was cool at night so we just opened the windows & used the fans. Cleanliness lacking a bit. We found a dirty sock laid on top of the extra blanket in guest bedroom, a ball of dried brown paper towels in the kitchen and very poor drainage in master bath sink & tub. Also, it would be nice to have more than one towel per guest. There are washers & dryers on the third floor, this condo is on the first floor, so we went to the 3rd floor & washed clothes. Check in didn't go smoothly. Evolve, who is listed as the guest host sent me a confirmation email but failed to give me the unit number so it took an hour waiting for our host to respond back with our unit number for check in. Overall I will say we enjoyed our stay & would rent this condo again.
