House was very nice and clean. The porches, particularly the screened in porch were very nice. Access to the lake was good for paddleboarders but the deck was in very poor condition. We were most disappointed with the stove, small appliances (toaster oven, waffles maker) and outside grill. All were filthy. Owner did come in to clean the stove and grill, but we did not use outside grill as it was questionable. Cooking utensils were in poor condition, glad we brought some of our own. The microwave had no lighted indicators so you guessed about power and time. the stove had one burner control that was loose so control was questionable. Also would appreciate a full hand railing going down to lower level. One member of our group has some difficulty walking and the handrail did not go all the way to the bottom floor requiring holding onto wall to get down.

The location is beautiful. The property is enormous and easy to get down to the water. Tons of room for a big family or large group.

We stayed in Draper with adult children to visit relatives in Virginia for 7 days. This home is not only beautiful inside and out, it has everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home. Three and one half baths, large kitchen with all cooking and dining items to use, grill, outdoor pizza oven (big hit for us!), lots of outdoor seating, two kayaks, plenty of family games and reading materials. Pool table , several TVs, movie room with projector and large DVD library. The home was also nicely decorated and CLEAN. The owner was so quick to respond to any messages we sent, not that there were any issues but just some questions and clarifications. Would love to return next time we visit our Virginia family ❤️

The house was a wonderful stay for my daughter's graduation from VT. A beautiful location on the lake, and not too far from Blacksburg. It was clean and very well appointed, and the owners very responsive. Would return!

I rented this house for the weekend of my son's graduation from Radford. All of our family and friends raved about how awesome the house is.. my son said it looks like Kevin Costner's house on Yellowstone. A great plus is that the house is dog friendly, my Chihuahua loved it too. Thanks for being a great host.

We have a yearly trip to commemorate our mom. This is our second stay. The property is lovely. There's really one master bedroom, two kids rooms, a game room with a futon, and a basement room with no windows. It works fine for us. The kitchen is fully stocked. There was some weird trash, the desk in the game room was full of candy and the fireplace was full of old voided checks. My sister said there was white pet fur on the master bed. Regardless, we had a wonderful time. The proximity to the Draper Mercantile was perfect.

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving at this house with daughter, son in law and 3 grandchildren. The house is spacious and comfortable. We spent time inside and out. Grandkids loved the outdoor volleyball court and indoor shuffleboard. They also enjoyed the media room. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need for meal preparation.

This home is beautiful and extremely comfortable.
We appreciated all of the TVs, the billiards room, and the very well appointed kitchen. We like to cook and bake, so it was wonderful to have all of the necessary pots pans and utensils on hand.
We are not local to the area, so we were not aware of the drought or the status of the lake in front of the property. Sort of a downer upon arrival in that we thought we would be on the water. We enjoyed the dock except our dogs would not stay out of the mud and we had to bathe them.
We are hoping to return next year for a longer stay!

We could not have been happier. After hastily departing from another location due to an infestation of bugs discovered in the bed sheets, we found this location and the owner was happy to oblige a same-day check in. The cabin was spotless, the views were amazing, and we can't wait to go back next year!

Beautiful location and home. Spacious and accommodating. Conveniently located to VT, Cascades hike (both beautiful 45 minute drives) and the New River trail right down the road. We enjoyed the kayak provided. Wonderful coming home to the lake house!

Just returned from a week-long family vacation at this beautiful property on Claytor Lake in Draper, VA. The large home had everything needed and was comfortably appointed with many extras to include pool table, shuffleboard table, canoe, kayak, movie room and more. We enjoyed exploring the area including Drapers Mercantile just down the road, rented a ski boat at Claytor Lake State Park, and Ziplining near Floyd, VA. Would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

Long weekend with our sons. Beautiful surroundings and a lot of outdoor activity around.

Such a peaceful place! From coffee on the deck overlooking the lake, to a family bbq with games, to sitting around the fire with a glass of wine, we truly enjoyed our stay! Even our pup had a great time catching frisbees on the huge lawn and checking out the water! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again in the future! The upstairs bedrooms have only twin beds with very high mattresses so really only good for children, wouldn’t recommend for very small children or elderly.

We were absolutely thrilled with this no frills huge cabin sitting on a beautiful lot right on the Claytor Lake. We hiked the New River Trail (5 minutes to the Draper lot), paddled the lake, enjoyed a movie night in the downstairs theater room, played pool in the great room and all had plenty of office space to get some work done as well (although the internet was a bit slow). Absolutely an amazing place averaging 10 deer each night watching us eat dinner. Fantastic and relaxing vacation!

This is a truly beautiful setting with lots of space. There are plenty of rooms and activities. The house is stocked with TVs and books and is surrounded by a huge lawn that goes right up to the lake. Very nice. Lots of interesting wildlife.

This house has about everything you need for a great stay at the lake. Ample comfortable beds and several relaxing spaces, the kitchen is extremely nice. Three different outside area, all with great views and the little area of Draper is really charming.
One highlight i would suggest, is plan for a home made pizza night. There is an outdoor propane pizza oven that we churned 6 pizzas out of in 30 minutes and everyone couldn't stop gushing over how good they were (maple sausage and pepperoni were the voted favorite).
Would highly recommend this house and also got some great boating in on the lake.

Relaxing getaway with older kids and friends
This property was great for our group and we will stay here again. Perfect for teens and young adults. I would recommend older children here. The house had everything we needed (linens, towels, kitchen and laundry supplies). The house is great! As mentioned, the water is shallow and the dock is older. I would recommend water shoes. It was fantastic for floating on tubes and our teenage boys loved wading to the sand bar out in the lake. We were surprised to learn we had access to a neighborhood boat ramp for the jet sky. Perfect area for that. We rented a pontoon from the marina about 15 minutes away for a perfect lake day. Just a note this house is below the lighthouse bridge and you cannot access it with the rental boats.
The yard slopes gently to a row of trees and then down to the lake. Great space for yard games. ( You cannot see the dock/kids from the lower level of the house which is fine with older kids). My husband had great luck fishing from the canoe below the bluffs across the lake. I would like to visit in cooler weather to enjoy the very nearby New River Trail. We enjoyed a trip to the cute Draper Merc.
House amenities were wonderful and the lake/yard area suited our needs perfectly. The owner was a little slow to respond prior to our trip, but be patient, I am confident that is because he prioritizes the current guest as he did with us while we were there. Great experience overall. Thanks Tim!

My Favorite Vacation Spot
This is the 2nd trip my family made to this beautiful vacation home. The first was 4 years ago and it is just as wonderful as I remembered. The house is large, allowing lots of space both indoors and out for our family to enjoy. Everything we needed was there, kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, coffee pot, crock pot grill, propane fire pit and more. We brought gates for the stairs, because we had two 1-year olds, which I recommend if you are bringing littles. The older kids loved the movie screen and selection of movies. The whole family enjoyed the dock and spent a lot of time kayaking, fishing and swimming. Tim was extremely responsive and helpful during the time leading up to our trip.

Relaxing Mini Vaca
Took the kids and MIL for a short, quiet, relaxing vaca here and we loved it. The kids truly enjoyed running around the property and playing on the little playground. Their favorite part was taking the Kayak out and exploring the lake. Our pup was elated he could join in the fun too. It really helped us reset from the grueling day-to-day.

The home was amazing with just the right amount of room for all to have their own space. The grounds were spacious and the interior was spectacular. I just wish I had been made aware that there was no water in the lake the week we were there.
