Lake Escape is a cozy cottage located in Union Pier, Michigan. It's just a short 1 1/2 blocks from Berrien Street Beach and beautiful Lake Michigan -- close enough so that you'll never miss a sunset! Take advantage of the nearby Whistle Stop Cafe and Red Arrow Roadhouse. And it's just a short drive to many other local favorites!

You'll enjoy all the comforts of home with three bedrooms (2 queen and twin bunk) and one bathroom (walk-in shower), washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, Internet and cable (including MLB extra innings).

The cottage is a great stay for families with a large backyard area (shared with our co-op neighbors), a fire pit, gas grill and outdoor dining space. Take a soak in the private outdoor hot tub (open year-round!) and enjoy the stars to cap off a day at the beach or your time in Harbor Country. Make memories that will last a lifetime at Lake Escape...the beach is calling!

This is our second time staying at this property which I think speaks for itself! There’s just enough space for kids to play inside and a spacious yard outside. The best aspect though is the proximity to the beach!

This was the perfect property for our family to stay at. We were able to easily walk to the beach with the supplied wagon carrying chairs and toys. This was also one of the cleanest properties we’ve stayed at, which is a huge plus.

Everything was absolutely perfect! We arrived late Friday to a lovely welcome note and bottle of wine from Tammy! The house was much bigger than I thought, SUPER cute! Comfortable beds, everything was clean! The kitchen was stocked with every gadget or utensil you could think of! I could have stayed for weeks just to read every single book that was there! The hot tub was an excellent addition to our relaxing stay! There were also so many small details that didnt go unnoticed, like the bin of "extras" incase you forgot a toiletry, make up makes and q tips (things people typically probably forget). Soo many games to play! I could honestly go on and on! The beach access was SO close and such an easy walk, restaurants within walking distance! Cant wait to go back! 10/10 definitely recommend

We enjoyed our spring break trip to Union Pier! The cottage is so cute and cozy and has everything you need and more! We enjoyed beach walks, nearby restaurants and shops, blooming daffodils and hyacinth, soaking in the hot tub, and just having fun together as a family. What a great place to stay!

This property was perfect for our girls weekend. But could imagine it would also be perfect for a family summer vacation. The cottage is tucked away in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood, 5 minutes from the beach. The house had a stocked kitchen with everything you could need. It was clean and very well kept. I would highly recommend.

WE TRULEY ENJOYED OUR LAST MINUTE 2 NIGHT GET AWAY. HOME WAS SUPER COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN. LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT. WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED AN ADDITIONA NIGHT OR 2. Beautiful home located within walking distance to the lake, with all the supplies you need to get there and enjoy your day on the beach (or sunset). Wonderful neighborhood to walk and conveniently located within walking distance to a convenience market and a local favorite restaurant. You can just park and enjoy all that the area offers. Along with that, the home is fully stocked with just about anything you may have forgotten to bring. And if the weather takes a turn, no worries, just hop into the very clean and comfortable hot tub! I have stayed here the past 3 years and will continue to do so far into the future! Thank you Steve and Tammy for your top-notch hospitality!!

This was our second year staying at Lake Escape. Despite a lot of rainy weather, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Union Pier, and much of that is because Lake Escape provides a clean, cozy environment where you can hunker down on rainy days or be at the beach in a flash when it's sunny. Tammy and Steve think of every last detail (love the new Tommy Bahama beach chairs!), so you don't have to haul everything with you. My only complaint, which is VERY minor, is that I struggle with the lockbox every year when checking in and out. My teenager can figure it out, but I can't! But again, I can't say enough good things about this rental and its owners. We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was clean and comfortable and cozy and so cute! It was right down the street from the beach. It was a very woodsy location so you felt like you were on vacation but the whistle stop. It’s just a few doors down so you could go get coffee and delicious sandwiches. Our hosts were very kind and easy to communicate with. The little touches in the home made us feel very welcome and we look forward to staying there again. It really is the perfect location close to the beach, to the restaurants and to the other towns in Harbor County.

Cottage had everything we needed including a jacuzzi. Halloween candy was a nice treat! Would definitely go back in the summer. Walking distance to Lake Michigan and a few minutes' drive to Warren Dunes.

I've stayed in many VRBO properties and you can't beat this one for cleanliness, fits all your guests comfortably, added amenities a huge bonus, such as a fully stocked kitchen with everything but your food and beverages, firewood by the fire pit, a very clean hot tub and a quick walk to the beach with chairs and a cart they supply. I highly recommend this property for this fun area of Michigan. This was our 2nd time staying and we're signing up for next year! Thank you to Tammy and Steven for making your home so cozy and for making us feel at home!

I'm a VRBO veteran, having rented in SW Michigan about 7 times prior to this year. This rental was the best yet -- the reviews don't lie: The owners of Lake Escape have thought of everything. From providing enough sundries (TP, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent) for the week to having extra toiletries on hand and both random items you might not think you need (a hot dog toaster!) and pens/pencils/pads of paper and a USB charger next to the bed I slept in, they really hit the mark. The place is spotless, too, and despite being near the train, we slept very well and enjoyed the quiet of Union Pier evenings. But if you are a light sleeper or have little ones who aren't on a regular schedule, you might find the train startling. Other than that, you can't beat being right next to the Whistle Stop Grocery and Red Arrow Roadhouse either (the latter especially on the first evening, when you're too tired to grocery shop.). A quick note on the 4/5 for check-in: It took awhile for me to figure out which compartment of the key lock box I should be prying open to retrieve the key. I had to YouTube it. If you have more experience with key lock boxes, this won't be a problem for you! We will definitely book a stay here again next time we visit Union Pier!

The cottage was amazing. It is immaculate and super cute. It was perfect for out family of three - super close to the beach, large backyard for the kids to run around in and had every amenity you'd wish for. I've rented a ton of VRBO's before and the owners here go above a beyond. We hope to make this a family tradition every year. FANTASTIC!

This property had everything we needed and was located next to a little coffee shop, a great restaurant, and is a short walk down the street to the beach. The owners have the house fully stocked with anything you might need and when we had questions they responded promptly. The beds were very comfortable, the back deck and yard area were great for grilling, eating outside and playing frisbee. We highly recommend and will definitely be back next year!
