Great location. Stylish and we'll equipped apartment.
Parking was sometimes problem. Lots of stairs up to the apartment.

The flat is amazing. The time there was perfect. The flat is very cozy, well decorated and very comfortable. The bedrooms are so confortable and very fragrant (we slept a lot there). The kitchen has everything we needed. The view from the windows is spectacular. James was very kind and receptive. The decoration with natural flowers was another lovely care!
I only haven't liked to leave the apartment. We would like to stay there for more and more days. It's an amazing accommodation indeed.

The flat is exactly how it is presented here on Booking. The view from the windows are great, mainly during sunny days.

Excellent location, next door to very friendly pub with good beer. Walking distance from supermarket, town centre, castle and river walks.
Cosy. Comfortable. Well equipped. Clean. Good views of river.
Couldn't get TV/Humax to work - no instructions.
Not really a complaint, but, the stairs/headroom/sloping floors took a little getting used to (for this 6 footer !). In the end it became part of the charm !
One needs to pay attention to parking - 3 hours out front (and overnight) but one needs to park beyond the viaduct (5 minutes walk) to get free parking other than that.

The apartment is amazing, very clean, modern, convenient with family. There is everything in the apartment, we definitely felt like at home. The location was also amazing! Do recommend! Will definitely come back again!

Location
Nothing much only the stairs up into the flat

We thought everything was fabulous. The furnishings were of excellent quality and everything was like brand new. We loved everything about the apartment including the way it sloped slightly due to the age of it! Old on the outside and brand new on the inside done in a very tasteful way. The furnishings etc had clearly been carefully thought out and you could tell that the owner really cares about his property and goes over and above for his guests which was much appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to explore Lancaster and the surrounding area as it is perfectly located for such a visit.
Nothing - we loved it and in particular the location which turned out to be 5 minutes walk from where our family lived a century ago! We remembered being at the same family house in the 1950's and 1960's including the surrounding area which was very pretty.

location
there was a strong stale, musty smell in the property. it has an obvious issue with damp or the drains. the smell was overwhelming which spoilt the trip.

I like the location and the comfort of the place
Nothing all great

Excellent location in a quirky property. Facilities were like being in a home from home and had everything you needed. Bathroom was exceptional.
Only small drawback was duvet was too heavy, but thus could just be personal preference. I took tge duvet out of its cover and just used the cover.

Really lovely apartment. Very comfortable beds, good kitchen and bathroom space, and spotless throughout.
Very easy walking distance from the town centre and castle. Excellent place to stay when coming up to visit our daughter at the university.
A couple of beams were a little low (especially one on the stairs) and caught us a couple of times. Might have annoyed us if we were taller. The sitting room was a little dark even with all the lights on.
4.7
Thoughtfully furnished and very comfortable with a great location on the quayside.
Only personal preference, but would have preferred a walk-in shower so that we could take our parents.
4.7
The location was ideal for going out and about on our cycles. We loved the quirkiness of the accommodation. It was clean and had everything we needed for a weeks stay.
4.7
beautifully decorated, warm and well located, quiet despite being next to a pub we heard nothing, character historic building
Lancaster one way system makes getting in and out of the town a pain, it’s nothing about the property, that was fine ;)
4.7
Good location, comfy and well decorated and stocked
We had tall people in our party so had to be careful with the roof beams

Everything was really good, the apartment is modern, it has everything you’ll need for your stay, well equipped and in a good location. Check in and check out was really convenient. Would recommend 100%.
Maybe having 2 set of keys.

A truly lovely apartment full of history in a fabulous location. it is a quirky place that is so comfortable and was perfect for our weekend away as a family. it is impeccably clean and so well equipped for us to cook for ourselves. Communication with the owner was also excellent.
The age means it is on a slope and the ceilings are low in places - but that isn’t really negative, just something to be mindful of.

Apart from my forgetting to phone for the keycode 48 hours before, everything was excellent. The owner rang and Sykes Cottages contacted the cleaner who brought round his keys within 30 mins.
Excellent facilities.
The floors are sloping and polished so it's advisable not to walk around in socks!

lovely spot with great history in a great location. was on upper floors so may not suit some people and banged my head a few times as I am tall but goes with the age of the building.
Very little really.

Made my own breakfeast. Landlord provided a nice little start of the holliday. Both fridge and other stuff to enjoy first night.
Just brilliant..
Nothing, really.

A beautiful apartment set over two floors, the finish and decor is very nice and to a very high standard, I contacted James who was very helpful and a very nice chap he gave me lots of useful information. The setting is nice and quiet on the side of the river, only a five minute or so walk into the centre. We had a really lovely stay and it was a lot better than a hotel at that price point. If we were going to Lancaster again we would certainly try and stay there again. The beds were really comfortable and we had 2 really good nights sleep.
The parking situation is a bit of a strange one, there are parking bay spaces outside the property. But they are restricted to three hours between 8am and 6pm. James did tell me this and said they were quite strict upholding it, so i parking behind the apartment in a pay and display. After checking the council website and asking numerous people (including in the pub next door) nobody seemed to know if i could park between 6pm and 8am outside the apartment without getting a fine. Just a minor thing but i do like a free parking spot, There is free parking on the road further down but we found it a bit far away.

We stayed here a couple of years before it was renovated by the current owner. The transformation is amazing. Still uneven floors due to age of the property (all part of the charm) but very sympathetically set up for short breaks. Having the history explained in the information folder was fascinating. The owner clearly loves his apartment, building and the city.
Having to leave. This really was a great time away!

The flat was really clean and cosy. All of the furnishings and utensils were good quality too. Overall, a very pleasant stay and in a good location!

Good location well presented and well equipped
