My family from Tuscany visited Ohio for the first time and we stayed in this lovely home on the shore of Lake Erie. They loved the views and the comfort of the accommodations. The house was perfect for a memorable time with family.

I’m absolutely certain if you’re looking to stay in this area, Bill is your guy! This was the perfect place and one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever seen. My family and friends couldn’t have had a better time here. It’s unlike anywhere else, way less to do before check out then anywhere we’ve ever been. So kind so considerate and I just honestly can’t say enough good things. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.

Can’t say enough good things about this house, the views, and the host family Bill and Ann Marie! The power went out because of storms in the area and Bill and Ann Marie had us up and running with a generator the same day! Anyone in the area looking for a getaway with a cool lake breeze should consider this place! Play on the lawn, grill on the deck, bathe in the lake!

Wonderful home right on the lake. The weather was perfect, so we were able to enjoy watching the sunset every night in the gazebo.
Location was great and we were short driving distance away from different beaches. We were able to enjoy jet skiing, ziplines, minature golf, hiking, etc.
A great vacation. The owners were very quick to respond to our questions.

This rental is spectacular. Views are amazing and the area is well kept. House had games, wifi and was very well kept. Highly recommended if in the area of Mentor on the Lake near Cleveland. Great stay.

Bill and Ann have a great rental right on the lake. The 1905 gull house has been fully updated and has a great kitchen as well as outdoor patio and gazebo with a walkway down to the lake. Beds are comfortable and offer room for large family gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped to serve meals for eight. The hosts are very responsive yet respectful of privacy. Take care to keep the neighbors happy.

Beautiful, clean house that was perfect for the two families with young kids in our group.

We visited in April for the eclipse and were so fortunate to find this gem of a place. There are many inviting spots for friends and family to gather and relax, and the views from the living/dining/porch areas and the primary bedroom are incredible. The furnishings are comfortable and attractive. Photos can’t really capture how nice it is. The kitchen was thoughtfully renovated and has everything you might need to prepare meals. Steps to the second floor are quite steep but there is a handrail and treads to prevent slipping. It was nice that the house has one bedroom (and a powder room) on the first floor. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house. The driveway is shared with the house next door but that was not a problem at all.

This beautiful cottage was just what my family needed for a weekend getaway. The view of Lake Erie, the family of deer that showed up out of nowhere, and the setup of the house were more than we expected. My grandkids were so excited every day we were there. The games for the littles were a bonus. We will book this spot again as long as they live in OH. The host was super responsive and even let me know as soon as it was discovered the kid's toothbrushes were left. You will not be sorry to rent this little piece of heaven on your next visit to the area.

The pictures don't do this getaway justice. This is a beautiful place from the interior decor and the exterior unobstructed lake view. It was relaxing and inviting.
My sisters and I, along with our mother, celebrated my birthday as well as needing a getaway as we mourned the year anniversary of our brother's death.
It was just what we needed. Thank you Bill

The house is beautiful. Warm. Everything you need. Perfect setting. A real treat. We loved it. We had an appointment at the Cleveland clinic and it couldn’t have been a better spot to rest and sleep and get to the hospital. Thank you!!

Great location. The property was the quintessential 1905 lake cottage updated to modern standards.

The Gull cottage was perfect for what we wanted for a local weekend get-away. It feels like a lake house in all good ways! Clean, well appointed and has a lot of character. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed the water, grill, lounge chairs and outdoor dining. The sunsets were spectacular and the house is perfectly situated for viewing. I highly recommend this home. The checkout was easy for a VRBO which we highly appreciated. I give this property 6 stars!!

My sister, her neighbor, my daughter's mother-in-law, and I visited here for an extended weekend. Very relaxing stay for us. Beautiful historic house. Very comfortable beds. We will return and we would highly recommend to others.

I rented the property for my family and two siblings to have a relaxing and comfortable base while in the area to celebrate our mothers 100th Heavenly Birthday. The house was as beautiful as it was relaxing and comfortable. My oldest daughter fell in love with the rear patio and yard. The lake view was beyond amazing and the only regret I have about our stay is that I wish I had taken more pictures.

Gull Cottage was simply beautiful and so very homey feeling. The weather was not so nice but this home has everything you need to stay in and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Erie (which was resembling the ocean while we were there lol)! Our family gathering was perfect because of the peace and serenity of this home/location and the property owners were extremely helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to see so many of the things that were usable to us including crockpot, waffle, iron, coffee, maker, toaster, etc. Gull Cottage definitely deserves a five star rating!

My husband and I got married on Feb 4, 2023. His 6 family members stayed at Gull Cottage. We were also married there in a very small wedding.
The cottage is immaculate and beautiful. The lake views are breath-taking. The house is tastefully appointed. Everything is in working order.
The owner and his wife were welcoming and very easy to interact with. It is obvious that they care deeply about providing guests with an excellent experience. They also took great pains to update and maintain this lovely home.
We treated Gull Cottage as if it was our own. We left it in the same condition in which we found it. We would feel privileged to be able to return to Gull Cottage again. Thank you so much, Bill and Ann Marie.
With best regards,
Anne and Roger Gerhardt

We had a lovely time at Gull Cottage! The property was beautiful and it was very close to our family in the greater Cleveland area. Everything we needed for our extended stay was provided. The only thing I would mention is that the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms and showers are quite narrow, steep and can be a bit slippery when wearing socks. :) So, be careful! Overall, we have zero complaints and would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for having us!

We had a wonderful long weekend as we gathered for our son's graduation. The home is fully updated. Lots of good space to hang out together. We enjoyed watching Lake Erie start its winter journey from the comfort of the warm enclosed porch. The host Bill was immediately responsive to my questions and a great help through the weekend. I highly reccomend this house for a family gathering.

This was a home where everything was just right. It was immaculate, had a wonderful and functional kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. Best of all, it featured marvelous Law Erie views. The sunsets were especially marvelous.
Owners were very responsive and it is also close to a grocery store and restaurants.

We gathered this weekend with a group of college roommates and had a great time. The house is lovely! Easy to access, modern and clean. The view of the Lake from the living room, patio, and master bedroom are spectacular. Everything was perfect. Will definately come back!

Very nice property, exactly as described. The big porch was a highlight, and the kitchen was well-appointed for cooking a few large meals. Living room very comfy, as were the beds. Great views of the water from the master suite. Convenient to have a grocery story less than a mile away.

First, the pictures posted of this rental DO NOT do it justice!!! It was so much better than we could’ve hoped for. I got a phone call from the owner hours before our check-in time saying it was ready early for us. If we needed anything, the owner responded within minutes via text. There were little individual spaces throughout the house for family members to sit separately or play games. The instruction binder had very clear instructions for the house and a ton of activities to do in the area. This lake house was picture perfect and we enjoyed every minute there and would highly recommend to anyone considering staying in the area.

We loved this house! The house is located on a quiet, well-maintained street, and includes a spacious garage (which made packing on a rainy day much more pleasant.) The house has been beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is modern and spacious, and there are numerous spots, both inside and outside the house, from which to relax and enjoy the view of Lake Erie. The gazebo was a perfect place for pre-dinner drinks while watching the sun set over the lake. We even spotted a bald eagle one evening. There is also a huge flowering bush next to the front door that attracts a multitude of monarch and swallowtail butterflies. But what we really loved about this house was all of the special touches and amenities provided by the hosts. These included towels by the front door to wipe our dog's wet paws, nice furniture covers so we didn't have to worry about keeping our dog off the couches, a great selection of games, puzzles and books, good quality hangers in the closets, a set of umbrellas for rainy weather, and plentiful dish ware in the kitchen. The hosts had clearly put a great deal of thought into these, and the overall effect was to make us feel quite welcome. We already miss the views of Lake Erie!

We had a great time connecting with another family in this beautiful house. Bill is extremely courteous and prompt and provided us all guidance and answers promptly. The house is tastefully decorated and there’s plenty of room that you don’t step on each other’s toes. There is plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the gorgeous view and the several birds in the backyard! Please be mindful of the neighbors’ properties especially if you have little kids. There are also lovely little beaches nearby. It was a wonderful getaway. Thanks Bill!

Clean cozy and feels like a home
A lovely stay in an historic home that had great views of Lake Erie. The property was clean, light and airy. It overall felt safe, comfortable and relaxing. We had everything we needed, as well as simple instructions to guide us during the stay. The host was responsive if I sent them a message. A great break from too many tv screens and other distractions. My mother absolutely adored it and wants to come back.

Beautiful House
It was clean, lots of natural light and amazing views!! The owners supplied coffee and paper products, spices, dishwasher tablets and just about anything else you usually have to take with you. Comfy beds too. Can't think of one negative thing about this place. You won't be disappointed.

No hesitation to come back and to recommend
We truly enjoyed the property and wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Lots of reviews mentioned how clean the property was. They were right. Hands down the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in. William was easy to contact and very accommodating. The location is great. Easy to get to and it has a great view of the lake. The stone stairs going down to the water provide a nice area to sit and relax. There is no “beach” like area on the shoreline at this property, but you are really close to some very nice beach/park areas. So, that really isn’t an issue. A fire pit would be a nice addition and the mattress in the large upstairs bedroom could use an upgrade. However, I wouldn’t hesitate even one second to book another stay tomorrow. Loved the place. The house has great charm and is well stocked. It is clean, clean, clean…even the basement laundry area was clean. Helpful owner. Awesome lakefront views. You won’t go wrong renting this place.
