ABOUT NORTH VIEW
North View is very quirky with its never ending hallways and unusually shaped rooms. It dates back to the 1880s when it was run by nuns and called St Saviours Grange, although it has seen much modernising since this time. It is the site of the second windmill in the area (Bay Windmill), which was knocked down at the time of the building of St Saviours Grange. Rumours suggest that the agreement was to have part of the windmill incorporated into the house. The second windmill to the area still stands and is located in the village of Herne.
The house benefits from wooden double glazed sash windows and a log burner, so can be enjoyed all year round. There is wifi accessible throughout the house.
There is parking on the sea front adjacent to the house and to the rear of the property. There is free parking outside the controlled zone a few minutes walk from the property. The rear garden gate leads to the parking area and also leads directly into the town centre.

The perfect base for a few days exploring Herne Bay and Whitstable. Clean, well-equipped and perfect for children.

This is in an absolute lovely position he only problem is the parking but we managed ok and parked behind and loaded the car from the car park.
The house is a home from home we had trouble with regulating the en suite shower but the other shower was great! Would thoroughly recommend!

A really stunning property, bigger and more luxurious than the photos suggest, right in the centre of Herne Bay. Fabulous hosts- communication was excellent and provided one of the most generous welcome packs we’re ever had. Will visit again!

Simply perfect.

The house is amazing! Comfortable, with every amenity.
We were close to the ocean, grocery store, restaurants, park, railway station. Several houses being renovated nearby made the exterior look messy. That was the only negative, and not the owners' fault.

A lovely joint family break. Great property with some lovely quirky features. So well equipped and the welcome pack and toiletries were very generous. Hosts very helpful. Loads to do nearby. Special mention for the punt trips in Canterbury, Margate and Whitstable. Wish we’d had longer.

Lovely weekend away. Cosy well equipped house, great beds with luxurious bedding. Logs were provided for the log burner and a hamper with essentials and treats was a welcoming addition. Great location for walks along the seafront. Nice little boutique shops just along the way. Our teenage boys enjoyed the market stalls in beach huts on the pier and a visit to the amusements on New Year’s Day!

Loved this property. Very well decorated with a great blend of some rustic features such as bare brick wall, with appropriate features for a seaside property (such as port-holes in doors). Spacious and well located. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a great stay at North View. Great location, very smooth and easy check in process with good communication from hosts.
House is very well equipped and has everything that we required, the food hamper basket was a very welcome addition, thank you.
The sea view window was especially popular with our two year old who could often be found sitting and watching the sea and windmills!
We hope to be back again in the future.

Stylish, high spec property
Excellent welcome pack
Well equipped kitchen
Great location, with easy access to beach, pier, cafes, shops, arcades, etc.
As a central located property parking can be a bit tricky. Options are covered in the info and didn’t cause us any big problems.
Hosts were quick to respond to queries. Would happily return and recommend to others.

We had a great short stay here. Location is outstanding, within metres of the beach. Parking immediately in the rear (although paid, £12/day or so).
Communication with the owners was top-notch. Could not have asked for better.
Place was super clean and comfortable. The layout is a little quirky. Bedding was excellent. The owners left a generous basket of food. Supermarket is 5 minutes walking.
The house manual was particularly good - very helpful for things like figuring out the oven.
The only negatives here are nothing more than quibbles - one of the showers tends to flood the bathroom floor, the door to one of the toilet cubicles doesn't lock - but absolutely nothing that would get in the way of a nice, relaxing getaway. If you're on the fence about this one, just book it, you won't be disappointed.

We were a family of 3 generations staying in this beautiful house with an imaginative and fun outdoor space. We spent a lot of time relaxing there as well as exploring and enjoying Herne Bay and the surrounding area. Martyn and Amanda are excellent hosts and very helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful home away from home
This property really is a gemstone. A stylish and beautiful home away from home with everything you could possibly want/need with two young children. The decor and facilities are amazing. Martyn and Amanda have comminicated with us at every turn ensuring everything was ok. It is in a perfect location - the park, pebble beach and pier within a minute's walk away and so many wonderful places to visit within a short drive. We will definitely be back in the future. One of the best holiday homes we have stayed in since having children. Thank you so much Martyn and Amanada

Last Minute Summer Break
We had a lovely time at Amanda and Martyn's beautiful house. It was spotlessly clean, in a great location and had everything we needed. Communication was great and there was a lovely welcoming hamper of treats! Would definitely stay again if travelling to this area.

Home from home
We spent 4nts at North View House, great location and fantastic home, right on the beach. Plenty of room for the four of us, loved the open plan kitchen/diner and the bedrooms were well proportioned. The decor and furnishings are really cool, you can tell the owner loves the house.....Garden was small, but very well kept. Easy access to the car park behind. Make sure you have the Ringo app for parking. Herne Bay itself is a little gem, not overly busy and good restaurant choices too. If I was going to Herne Bay I'd only stay here.

Wow - An amazing stay by the sea
The house was better than expected, had everything you could ask for. It was spotlessly clean and everything we could possibly need was provided including the amazing coffee machine. Location is amazing 1 minute walk to the beach and all the shops within 5 mins walking distance, Martyn and Amanda provided an amazing welcome pack. Communication was fantastic throughout. Shame we had to come home. Already planning the next trip back to Herne Bay.

Stunning seaside property
A wonderful property, tastefully decorated with just the right amount of flair and interest. Spotlessly clean with every detail thought through and an extremely generous welcome pack. Close to the beach front and a range of outstanding restaurants, this is undoubtedly one of the best places we have stayed in the UK. Martyn was responsive and helpful, and everything was very straight forward.

A memorable stay in a wonderful home by the sea
Martyn and Amanda were amazing hosts. We spent a week as a family in Herne Bay perfectly located to explore all that Kent has to offer. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a pristine beautifully maintained home by the waterfront with every possible amenity catered for - truly a home away from home.

Half Term Holiday
We had a fantastic stay at Amanda and Martyn's property which is a stone's throw from the sea and ideally located for exploring the area . It is extremely stylish, tastefully decorated with some amazing pieces (especially the mega NAIM sound system). It was spotlessly clean and everything we could possibly need was provided, the extra touches were really appreciated and the welcome hamper was the best we have ever experienced. Martyn was extremely helpful and responsive throughout and did everything he could to ensure we had a great holiday including finding us an amazing dog sitter (who we would also recommend!). We most certainly recommend this property and hope to come back in the future. Thank you Martyn and Amanda xx

New Year’s Eve break
Had a lovely time in this cottage as two families, the kids really enjoyed sharing the bedroom with two bunks to accommodate 4 children. Spacious open plan kitchen and dining room, with a cosy lounge with log burner. Really enjoyed our stay here. Perfectly located for exploring the area, would recommend the four fathoms pub about a 5 min walk away excellent food.
