About this cottage rental
Welcome to this stunning cottage, a true gem built in 1935 and lovingly preserved by renowned preservationist Jane Coslick. In 1996, it was moved and saved from demolition, becoming one of her first remarkable rescues, and its timeless charm and beauty were even showcased on the cover of Coastal Living in 2000.
As you ascend the steps to the welcoming screened-in porch, you'll be greeted by quaint and colorful beach decor, setting the perfect tone for a delightful stay. The porch offers a variety of seating options and tables, inviting you to lounge, relax, and soak in the serene atmosphere.
Step inside this sophisticated cottage, all on one level, and be captivated by the warm wood floors, abundant natural light, and delightful splashes of local art throughout. The open sitting, dining, and kitchen area seamlessly blend together, creating a harmonious space for gatherings. A TV and a dining table accommodating up to 5 guests ensure entertainment and dining pleasure.
A small bedroom, tucked off the living room, features two twin beds, offering comfort and privacy with the convenience of a privacy curtain. The master bedroom boasts a queen bed and a full bath with a tub/shower ensuite, providing a serene retreat for relaxation. Additionally, there is a convenient hallway half bath for added comfort.
Outside, a small open back porch awaits sun enthusiasts, adorned with two hand-painted Adirondack chairs, offering a perfect spot to bask in the warm rays. The porch overlooks the shady fenced-in back yard, where you'll find an outdoor shower and a charming picnic table, creating an idyllic setting for enjoying outdoor moments.

Was super easy renting, checkin/out and a great place to stay for our family of 4. If we're back in Tybee again, would rent again! Grill is charcoal. Had a regular coffee pot and keurig.

overall, we really enjoyed our time at the cottage. the location was great and we loved being located right on the bike route and close to lots of beaches. my only negative comment would be on the overall cleanliness of the space. there were cleaning items that had been left out and it looked like the bed linens hadn’t been washed in a really long time. lots of built up dust in some places.

Authentic, historic cottage with beautiful, colorful touches throughout. Loved it! So charming, cute and quaint. Made me feel like I had gone back in time. Lots of character and whimsey. So much better than a hotel! Makes you long for the 'good ole days'... wish it was mine!

My wife and I stayed in this cottage on our first trip to Tybee Island, and the cottage was just what we hoped. It is light and airy with a lot of windows and a nice screened porch. Centrally located, it was within walking distance of the beach and the main drag on Tybee, and we found ourselves walking often. The management team was also courteous and professional. We would book this cottage again on our next trip to Tybee.

The cottage is charming, and everything looked clean. The screened-in porch is simply to-die-for.But: the kitchen really needs a step stool for shorter people. I had to rely on my travel companion to get dishes down for me.And the really big but: the bed she used off of the living room? Had mouse poop in the sheets!!! Disgusting. Thankfully since there’s a washer/dryer and detergent, she washed the sheets and put them back off. But that was almost a deal-breaker. Also, I left my (very expensive) pillow there. If I pay for shipping, would you be able to send it back to me?

My childhood friend and I had a wonderful few days together in this well-furnished vintage cottage. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There were lots of extra towels, and the kitchen had everything necessary and more. Close to the beach. The neighborhood was well maintained - perfect for walking and biking. Grocery store two blocks away. It was a comfortable drive to Savannah for great shopping and dining. We would recommend Palm Cottage.

The cottage should not be advertised as a two- bedroom cottage. It has one bedroom and a porch with two twin beds. The porch has no door. The windows have no shades. All of the curtains in the entire cottage are see through. The neighbors we kind enough to let us know this. The cottage is cute, but it is not two bedrooms. Put a door on the porch. Add some wood shutter shades to block off the windows from the kitchen. Maybe then it could be advertised as a two bedroom. Several simple maintenance items - shower diverter needs to be replaced it is only partially working. Shower curtain is too short (hint add double shower curtain rings.) Several areas of the flooring have weak spots and need to be replaced (in front of refrigerator and at porch entry area) The place has everything you need. Great location. The place is tidy but could have been cleaner - surfaces were not cleaned as well as they could have been. The place is perfect for a couple with two kids.

We had a wonderful stay at the Palm Cottage! We arrived the last week in July so as soon as we opened the door, the AC was blasting and couldn't have felt better! The cottage was everything and more! Beautiful decor, extremely and I mean extremely clean, and just wonderfully kept. It was BEAUTIFUL! Everything was provided, we only needed food of course :) Much bigger than what I expected it to be. My young teenagers enjoyed their private part of the cottage w their own beds. The books, games and such were a wonderful addition which they enjoyed. Such a short walk to the beach and the IGA. I do recommend reserving a golf cart as soon as you arrive. Tybee Golf Carts rental were very friendly and accomodating. We found it the best way to see the entire island, especially the lighthouse, and getting to most restaurants (especially Huckapoo's). If I may, one upgrade I suggest (small, but needed) is to put new temperature dials on the stovetop. They have all but disappeared. When using multiple burners, it became difficult remembering how hot the settings were of each item. But, overall an incredible stay! I highly recommend! A wonderful vacation and lots of memeories made for our family! Do not look elsewhere.

Lovely small cottage. Perfect for 1-2 adults. The second bedroom would not offer much privacy as there was only a curtain to pull across the doorway. It’s perfect for children. Great location with an easy walk to beach and grocery store. I’m an early riser so sheer curtains did not bother me. If you are sensitive to light, bring a sleep mask. Scissors and a garlic press would be a nice addition to the kitchen. I’ll come back.

We were so delighted with both this property and the Tybee experience, To call this a "cozy cottage" is an emmense understatement. The charming decorating, and furnishings add so much to an "at home, peaceful" stay.

Palm Cottage was wonderful! It’s a cute little cottage suited just for Tybee Island! Everything was just as advertised! Very comfortable! Convenient to restaurants and stores & the beach!

This is absolutely the coolest cottage we have ever stayed in on the East Coast. The owner thought of everything we could need for our 3-day stay. Location is a 4 minutes from the edge of the water & just around the corner from the OGA. Super quiet neighborhood. Comfy chairs, a good library & just a great upfit of this older structure. Kudos to the owner for this historic restoration.
4.9
The Palm Cottage was perfect for our family of 4. We loved the shiplap interior and screened in porch. At first glance the quaint cottage may appear small, surrounded by larger vacation homes, but it's surprisingly spacious inside and very functional. There's history with Palm Cottage, which made our stay on Tybee Island even more special. We love the Island and hope to return again in the near future.
4.9
We loved our stay at Palm Cottage and the proximity to the beach in Tybee. The cottage couldn’t have been cuter and it had absolutely everything we needed for our stay to celebrate our sons’s graduation from SCAD. We said time and again during our four day stay that we were so happy we chose a house at the beach over a hotel room. We loved every minute and liked that we didn’t even have to bring beach chairs.

As advertised.
Would stay again.

I absolutely adore this place! From the artwork to the beautiful mixture of colors you feel like you’re at home! It sits in the middle of everything and very quiet.

Everything was perfect! The only thing was that I was never told where the key was. While I was on hold for VRBO I just happened to find it while touching shells in a flower pot 😁
4.9
We love the location. The screen porch is perfect. Used back deck a few times when sun was out and chilly. Home is adequately stocked in kitchen. Charcoal grill is great but we used our own grate. The one there is very rusted. Wi-Fi worked very well. Tybee is just a wonderful place to lay back and enjoy 4 weeks of winter when you live in Wisconsin. We’ll be back

Reviewer Comments:
My fiancé and I stayed here for three nights recently and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is in a great location - about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 25 minute drive to downtown Savannah. We really enjoyed getting to eat breakfast on the screened-in porch every morning. The only thing I wish we had known ahead of time is that the curtains are all sheers, including in the bedroom, and there are no curtains on the doors to the porch. This means the cottage gets lots of natural light during the day, but it can make it hard to sleep in. I recommend bringing a sleep mask and a robe. The washer and dryer are small but worked well, and the closet in the bedroom was well-stocked with towels.
4.9
This place has an amazing charm. Close to everything we needed. We loved this cottage and can’t wait to come back!
4.9
We loved the cottage! It was 99% of everything we needed and wanted in a mini vacation: very clean, properly stocked, close to everything and fun to come back to at the end of a beach day. It has lots of outside sitting on the porch, adequate indoor seating for 2 and was delightfully comfortable. The only thing we needed that wasn't available was a dressing/full length mirror. I had to take selfies to double check my outfits. Absolutely everything else was *amazing*.
4.9
I came on a solo trip as a part of my own healing process and felt very safe and comfortable on Tybee Island and at Palm Cottage. The cottage has everything you would need and feels very home-like due to its decor. Lots of seating areas, and the perfect screened-in porch, which was essential with all of the mosquitos on the island. The cottage was about a 2-3 minute bike ride to the public beach access. Owners were very communicative, I would definitely come back to Palm Cottage with family or friends!
4.9
It was a seamless experience with no surprises.
4.9
This beach house is close to everything. There was ice cream, shops, groceries, the beach and restituants all within reach- just a short walk away. Though it was really hot we were able to walk pretty much wherever we wanted to go on Tybee. The house was clean and cozy and brought all the historic beachy vibes. We would stay here again.
4.9
Great spot for walking to beach, grocery store, restaurants, ice cream, shops and even access to Royal Palms Motel pool! Very cute and quaint cottage that was very cozy! Next time we will rent bikes but the walks were fantastic then took a shower outside to cool down! Highly recommend the spot! Great first time at Tybee Island for our little family of 4!
4.9
The cottage is conveniently located to the beach, grocery, restaurants and more. The cottage had everything that we needed for my spouse and two teenage sons to enjoy our stay. We would absolutely stay in this cottage again!

My family says Palm Cottage looks like me. This was my second time staying here. My grandson and I stayed the week of the July 4th. He (age 11) always wants to stay here so he can use the outdoor shower! I just wish it had a full length mirror somewhere.
4.9
We had a great time at the beach and the cottage was adorable!
4.9
It's a very quaint cottage, ideal for a couple. There are a few items that need attention. Both showers, inside and out, need more water pressure and new shower heads. We found the grill on its side and one of the legs was off, we had to put it together as best we could in order to grill on it. Would suggest replacing it. The landscaping could use some attention as it is quite overgrown. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We came to Tybee to celebrate my 38th birthday, and Palm Cottage was perfect. It has such character! Short walk to the beach, close to the IGA when we needed something, and the outdoor shower was a hit with my kids. The porch was my favorite - we had some rain and momma got to sit outside with a book and a glass of wine while the kids watched TV inside. Best week ever! We would definitely come back.

Tybee is different from southern beach communities. The city does not allow high rises and numerous historic cottages have been saved and turned into rentals. They are part of actual neighborhoods where real people live. There is a picturesque historic fort and a lighthouse. Tybee is not therefore one of the highrise condo towns nor is it a Seaside type upscale planned community. You have to be careful renting. We have been renting from a friendly and helpful guy named Jim Heflin for several years. But he just sold it and we are not sure how his successor will handle things. I made some suggestions to the new manager but never heard back. Palm cottage is perfect for a couple and their child or for just a couple - we have done both. I do not recommend it for more people than that; It is on Second Ave which is a bike path street with little traffic. Palm cottage is a couple blocks and an easy walk or bike ride to the beach. It has a pleasant screen porch, a decent living room, an outdated kitchen which we used every night for cooking fish dinners, an adequate bathroom, a tiny half bath, a queen bed (prefer king but this one is comfortable) and two twin beds off the living room. Don’t go there thinking it is all perfect. Go there if you like ‘character’ and laid back slightly eclectic living. We will go back to Palm Cottage and recommend it highly even with the above comments. It needs a general update but given the choice of no update and the current price or update and a higher price, Im fine with Palm the way it is. Highly recommend Tim’s bikes they deliver to the cottage; the beach is fun to bike on at low tide (only). We stock up on fresh fish at the historic Russo fish market in Savannah and add food at Whole Foods and try to cook all meals at our cottage. You may find a place you like for dining on Tybee but the restaurants and grocery stores are not our favorites. Despite my comments Tybee and Palm are our kind of place.

Perfect location. Appreciate people who preserve Tybee cottage history. Loved the screen porch. Home needs a large mirror and another dresser for clothes. The refrigerator needs a thorough cleaning inside and out. We cleaned inside before we used it. We would stay here again and recommend to others. Had a very nice experience on Tybee as usual.

We enjoyed our stay at The Palm Cottage and Tybee Island/ beach. It was walking distance to the beach and local food store. It could use a good dusting of the lamps, and ceiling fans. While we were there the lawn was cut. Not sure why because all they did was blow dust and dirt onto the covered, screened in porch. Instead the grounds could use a good raking, (landscaping) so guests could enjoy the outdoor space.

The cottage was better than the pictures. I loved the Jane Coslick design, it is gorgeously bright and welcoming. Everything worked and is in good "cottage" shape. Loved the comfy slipcovered chairs inside and the quiet space on the back deck. The master bedroom was simply stunning & the bed was very comfortable. Lots of design books, Southern Living and O magazines to look at when having your tea or coffee on the back deck in the morning sun. Access to the beach is a mere few blocks away, easy walk. Two things I would suggest, perhaps its time for a new larger flat screen tv to replace the one in the bedroom & though the cottage was neat, it really could use a thorough cleaning (fans, lights, and especially kitchen & bathroom cupboards & door frames). One of those white Mr.Clean Magic Erasers would do a perfect job. That being said, I would stay at Palm Cottage the next time hands down. Its a real old school cottage with a fantastic history. Lastly, Property Management was perfect, considerate and professional, even leaving a hand written note for my arrival. Until next time.....cheers.
