About this house rental
120 steps to the Gulf takes 1.5 minutes through private beach access! Barefoot Bungalow has amazing ocean views while spotting dolphins from the porch or playing cards with the family in the kitchen. At 2000 sq ft, guests can relax and unwind in comfort. High speed internet and Dish on 5 flat screen TV's help families stay connected. Guests should take advantage of deep-sea fishing, local restaurants, a quick bike ride to ice cream and even golf along the Gulf. We hope you enjoy our home!
Barefoot Bungalow has 2 desks for working or virtual school, lamps in the bedrooms have USB ports for charging devices, a charcoal grill, a loft area that can be a cozy reading nook or place to play games, a large front porch that also wraps around the side with ocean views, a pack and play and booster seat available for our favorite little guests, family board games and books, a DVD player to watch movies, a fully stocked kitchen, 8 bicycles, and finally bath towels, beach towels, and sheets are included. We also have sand toys and beach chairs for your time at the beach. Our driveway holds a maximum of 4 vehicles and parking on the street is prohibited.

This was a great family vacation. The house is described and presented as expected. Highlights: private beach 100 yards from the deck, owners give you chairs and some great beach toys for the kids, restaurants and bars are very close by, evenings on the deck in those rockers is priceless and the Island is amazing.
We are planning to book again next year.

Great home on the beach. We had 8 people in the home...4 generations of family ranging from pre-teen to 80s. The two bedrooms on the main floor were were perfect for the elders, and plenty of additional space in the 3 bedrooms upstairs. We cooked at the house quite a bit, and the kitchen was well stocked for meal preparation.
One thing I should have asked and did not was regarding the bathroom configuration since we were traveling with elders. There is no walk in shower and the bathroom downstairs does have a big step over into the tub/shower combo. I was grateful they had a nice hand hold to make it easier for the folks.
We loved being able to have our dogs with us, and very nice to have the gate on the deck.
Lots of beach toys, bicycles, and beach chairs on property, and we also used the charcoal grill.
It rained a little most days we were there and I loved having the covered deck to sit outside in all weather. We spent alot of time in those rocking chairs on the covered deck.
This was our first trip to Dauphin Island, and we really enjoyed it. It is a quiet area and perfect for a relaxing time with family. We did visit the aquarium, the bird sanctuary and some of the local shops. Some went fishing and we also took the ferry over to fort morgan.
The house is a very short walk to the beach.

We wanted a nice, relaxing weekend and that is exactly what we got with Beach Bungalow! The walk to the beach was perfect and the views are breathtaking. The room in the house was great too. The kitchen was very well stocked as well. This house was perfect!

Beautiful property with an excellent setup for our group! The house was well stocked with everything we needed for the week. So many games for the kids and lots of room. We had a great week and the owners were amazing. We encounter a small problem and they were available to get us help immediately. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! I hope we will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barefoot Bungalow. The location is great, and we could watch the ocean waves right from the front deck with a cup of morning coffee or a glass of wine after dinner. It had everything we needed and then some for a comfortable stay. I can see how this place would be perfect for big families.

We totally enjoyed our 24-day stay. This was our 5th time on the island. This house was spacious enough to host our kids and grandkids (13 total) for a week's visit and the price was wonderful. We loved being on the Gulf side and sitting on the deck in the mornings and enjoying the ocean view with our mimosas. Thank you for a great stay!!

I wanted to make memories instead of giving gifts for Christmas so I took my two kids, their spouses and my 5 grandchildren the week before Christmas. Easy walk to the beach, best view of the sunset and loved sitting on the porch watching the sunrise and listening to the ocean. There were lots of things to do close by and we had a great time making those memories. Thanks Jason and Carla, hope to stay again.

House is in a great location, very close to the beach. Plenty of beds and sleeping arrangements for the whole family. Some things inside the house were a little dated or had signs of prolonged use, kitchenware and cooking instruments could use replacing, but over all a great stay for the price point. Usually houses that close to the beach are more expensive so the overall value is really good. Thank you!

Our vacation at this home on Dauphin Island was truly fantastic. The house was not only comfortable and spacious, it was a brief 120 steps to the beach. We could enjoy the beautiful sunrises in the morning, and listen to the crashing waves as the stars began their visible watch over the earth. The pictures of the house don’t quite capture what a great place it was to stay! Many thanks!

There were eight of us that stayed here. Plenty of space and storage. Nice and clean and right next to the beach! The owners were very nice to converse with. I highly recommend!

Family had a fantastic time, the house looked just like the pictures. The kitchen had everything to prepare meals and eat at the large table. Front porch/deck was perfect, had a cover so we could be out there all times of the day. The views from the deck were incredible, we watched the ocean saw dolphins, and birds. To get down to the shoreline was close and far due to the thick sand. We did struggle getting our stuff down and back, too thick for our wagon. Having the dogs with us was fun, they loved the shaded areas to lay on the deck. The whole family loved the rocking chairs on the deck! Best beach vacation and would rent this house again.

Everything was as described. Big porch. Plenty of room inside. Just a very short walk to a nice, uncrowded beach. Would definitely stay there again. One suggestion - If the area under the house was cleaned out, there’s potential to have a nice covered area for cooking or relaxing in the shade.

We really enjoyed our stay at Barefoot Bungalow. There was plenty of beds for our large family. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and utensils. The beach is so close. And since it’s not a public beach, it was not crowded at all- we loved that! Restaurants are only a few minutes away, too!

Barefoot Bungalow was the ideal vacation home for our family. The home was both spacious and comfortable. I was pleased with how well the home was stocked with necessities. Even through the rainy weather, we enjoyed the covered porch and the rocking chairs. The short walk to the beach was easy for me and my grandchildren. I hope to have opportunity for a return stay. The host family was especially accommodating and accessible.

We had a great week with family. The house was in a great location, and the walk to the beach was doable, even with small kids. The extras (beach toys, boogie boards, detergent, toilet paper) were so appreciated. The bikes were also fun but there were several that needed new tubes. There was also a few loose boards on the deck but it was not an issue. The home was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The layout was great for multiple families and kids, as we were able to spread out. We have always vacationed at Fort Morgan, but I’m pretty sure we have found a new favorite spot and will return to the Barefoot bungalow next year.

Barefoot Bungalow was the perfect location for our first trip to Dauphin Island. With two small kids in tow, the close proximity to the beach (it really was just steps away) was really helpful! And the view was wonderful -- a picture-perfect landscape of beach, white sand, and dunes. We loved spending time in the rocking chairs on the front porch enjoying the scenery and having nice conversations while the kids played board games (there are a ton provided at the home). And when the kids needed a break from the board games, it was nice to have smart TVs in all bedrooms so they could watch movies. The house had everything we needed and more, and Carla and Jason were fabulous hosts! They were so quick to answer our inquiries both before and during the trip. Not only did their lovely home provide a great setting for our family (including my cousin's small dog, Riley), but the hosts' recommendations for things to do during our stay really helped make it a memorable vacation. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend visiting Dauphin Island and staying at this home. We hope to be back one day soon!

We have always boarded our beloved dog Dude when going on vacation as a whole family. But a beach vacation? With a water dog?! He had the best vacay EVER! Early morning swims, hanging out on the deck with his humans, afternoon naps, happy hour and games at sunset. He loved the sand, water, and chill time with his favorite people and WE DID TOO! Great time for the whole family …including Dude! 🐾💕

Great property close to the beach. My favorite was hanging out at night on the covered porch talking with my family. Owners are incredibly responsive and open to things that may need attention. We loved it and the 5 bedrooms made it so accommodating for our large family. Super family friendly….met some wonderful new friends across the street.

This house provided a great setting for our family vacation. The house is steps away from the beach. It's very easy to come and go and no need to drag everything you think you might need for a beach day.
The owners were very responsive and helpful with providing fun things to do while on DI. The house was clean and the kitchen was really well stocked. The porch was fantastic for reading and getting some work done, while still listening to the waves on the gulf. The beach during our stay was also really quiet.
Taking the ferry over to Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores was easy to do as well! Nice to have all of those destinations easy to get to.

We had an amazing experience at The Barefoot Bungalow! The property was just as the description said. We had 2 families staying together with kids ranging in age from 6-13, and they loved it! There is a ton of games and books, enough bikes for everyone and plenty of sand toys. The rocking chairs on the deck made for amazing sunset and sunrise views. We had everything we needed. Carla and Jason were so helpful and gave us all the information we need along with a well stocked house! We will definitely be back!

Carla was the perfect host, kind and attentive. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and the weather was perfect. The house was clean and had all the accessories one would expect to find in a VRBO home. A very short walk to the beach where my dog rediscovered she was still a puppy. This property would be an outstanding choice for your next vacation. The Barefoot Bungalow has earned my dogs’ stamp of approval.

Very nice place! Comfortable furniture and beds. We’ve stayed many places on the island and an unobstructed view off the front porch like this one is rare! I really enjoyed the large kitchen and island, with a very open floor plan. Enjoying the view and the conversation, while preparing meals. We are not pet owners, and so usually avoid renting a “pet-friendly” place. But this home was neat and clean, and full of hard, easy to clean surfaces. Homeowner was pleasant and communicative. Loved the keypad entry. Loved all the windows.

The house is spacious and comfortably cozy. Kitchen is well stocked with just about anything you would need to cook all your meals there. Great location and quiet area, beach and dining options close by. We loved being Able to walk the beach and collect seashells. We would return.
