Looking for the perfect getaway. You just found it at The Getaway. It’s the perfect Columbia, SC vacation spot. Relaxing Columbia Lake House w/ Private Dock, Outdoor Kitchen, WiFi & Fire Pits. Sit on the dock and watch the sunset. Drink your morning coffee in the gazebo overlooking the water. Roast marshmallow and make s’mores at the fire pit. Cook your favorite meal on the grill at the outdoor kitchen. Bring a float and play in the water. The choice is yours. It can all happen at The Getaway. Beautiful Lake House with Deluxe Upgrades. Outdoor kitchen with 2 grills. Outdoor fireplace with fire pit.
Guests are welcome to bring their boat and dock it at our private dock. You won't be able to launch it from our property but you can launch it from the dam which is a 5 minute drive from the lake house. We do have plenty of room to store your boat trailer once your boat is launched from the dam.
The boat lift can be used for a pontoon boat. We no longer have the jet ski landing pad shown in the video.

We came in town a few days before sending daughter to college and had time to relax and spend time together. The venue was very nice, peaceful and and conveniently located. We enjoyed the outdoor kitchen, deck seating and dock space.

Stayed here in late June for a family trip and to experience Lake Murray. This place was perfect. The host was great and responsive. Amenities were better than advertised including outdoor kitchen, dock & swimming, and plenty of places to relax. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location on the lake was great and very close to a Publix grocery which was very convenient. We were able to charter a captain to pick us up right at the dock for a day on the lake. We will certainly book again in the future. We can't wait to come back!

A definite 10/10! The house is amazing and the outdoor spaces are perfect for enjoying Lake Murray. Debra is a gracious and responsive host and her attention to detail is much appreciated. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy family meals. The multiple outdoor spaces are perfect for cooking, dining, relaxing and family game night. I highly recommend The Getaway and we hope to visit again.

We would definitely stay here again! The view is gorgeous and we had everything that we needed. The home is very well appointed and organized. Debra has thought of everything to make our stay even more enjoyable. Comfy beds are a must and this property did not disappoint. The outdoor amenities are great, easy to grill and serve outdoors…and of course the dock is wonderful. Also, it is very close to the grocery store! We will definitely stay here again.

We were so delighted with our stay! The house is lovely and impeccably clean. The backyard has beautiful views day and night and has many different areas to hang out. We loved relaxing on the covered dock area with glider club chairs that are really comfortable, and the fans kept away the bugs. We enjoyed sitting on the dock with coffee and listening to the birds in the morning and then watching the gorgeous sunsets all evening. We made a fire with the wood that Debra left for us in the firepit area.
The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and grilling, which we did one evening in the outdoor kitchen area. The bedrooms were comfy and clean. Debra was easily reached for any questions we had. Recommend!

What a wonderful property to stay at for a week on Lake Murray! From all the outdoor areas to the beautiful home inside, we could not ask for more! All the little touches, the snacks and k cups, the personalized note upon arrival, made us feel so welcome. Debra was an amazing host and very responsive to any questions in a timely manner. We hope to come back and visit again!

The outdoor areas of this house are amazing. Beautiful view of the lake. Ample outdoor seating, 3 fire pits, and great dock. Great sunset views. Host was wonderful and had thought of everything. The house had everything we could have possibly needed. Incredibly peaceful.

My family had a wonderful Thanksgiving at this beautiful home. Debra is an amazing and responsive host. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. The house was clean and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed all the different outdoor areas to relax and admire the beautiful views of Lake Murray—fire pits, outdoor kitchen, gazebo. This house has it all!

Very nice, quiet getaway with a huge bonus of the view of Lake Murray right out of the back. Tons of outdoor space gives you countless options and angles at which you can enjoy the sunset and I assume sunrise though since it was a weekend getaway I may have slept through that portion :-)

The pictures truly don’t compare to how beautiful and thoughtful this property is. The house and property was so clean and well cared for, by day 2 we were all saying how much we wanted to come back! Debra is super easy to communicate with and cares about your experience here. The weather was gorgeous so we got to enjoy swimming, fishing, and grilling out all weekend! Lovely stay by a lovely host. Highly recommend :)

Perfect spot on lake. Very clean and gorgeous property. Hospitable host, seriously amazing. Boat dock makes taking boat out w family very easy plus a very cool spot to just hangout. Outdoor grill area is set up perfectly. There is a gazebo with a table and chairs that is perfect for eating breakfast. We went out on the boat to wakeboard a good bit of the time but honestly would stay at this spot even if i didn't have a boat with me because of how nice it is. You can see the sunset over the water from the dock.

My wife and I had our wedding and honeymoon at this property. It was absolutley the perfect size for our small wedding, and the scenery was immaculate. The outside offered many differnt locations to hold the ceremony, and reception area for our family. The homeowners were extremely helpful, and wonderful during the whole experience. The homeowners and this beautiful property truly made our special day even more special. I cant thank them enough.

Clean & well maintained home with many amenities
We loved our stay at this Lake Murray home. It was just the right size for our small family, but felt much bigger with the many outdoor spaces. From the outdoor kitchen to the covered dock, there was always a place to share a meal or sit alone with a book. The outside was very pleasant (even in the South Carolina heat) as there was always a nice breeze in the cove. The home was very well appointed and had everything you could possibly need - including an industrial ice maker! Great communication from hosts and a wonderful overall experience.

Wonderful place!
Wow! What a great place to rent! Can't wait to rent again. The house and set up is beautiful. We really enjoyed the outside kitchen and all outside areas. Was perfect for visiting with friends who live in the area. Also loved the dock. Our friend rented a pontoon boat that we used for several days.

Amazing lake home
If I wanted to buy a lake home, this one would be it. Beautiful ranch with the outside kitchen and multiple seating areas to watch over the lake and relax in peace and quiet. Debra was more than helpful and answered every question we had. She’s done an amazing job supplying this house with everything that you need. If it’s not there, you don’t need it. The dock was just what we needed so that we could bring our 24’ pontoon boat with us and enjoy everything that Lake Murray has to offer. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great Stay!
I would highly recommend staying at this property! It was the perfect house for our family of 5. Debra went above and beyond and the house was immaculately clean! The outside area was wonderful and my kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. We were also able to rent a boat and loved the convenience of docking it at the house. Can’t wait to visit again!

The house and owner were beyond our expectations. Please note - my standards are beyond to begin with so that should give you a good idea of just how wonderful this place was.. She didn’t miss a single detail. We had a wonderful stay. The home is just beautiful. The property is magazine worthy. To top it off she checked in to be sure we were happy and wanted to know if she could help make our stay even better. I hate to let the secret out because I may not be able to book again! However, a pure delight. Don’t hesitate-you won’t be disappointed!

Easter on Lake Murray
This was the nicest VRBO that we have stayed in. The house was spotless and very well decorated. Beds were comfortable and the twin power recliners were even more comfortable! As lovely as the inside of the house was, the outside living space was the show stopper! There was a grilling area, areas to hang out near the house and down on the dock. If you want to have a fire at night (and make smores) there are several areas to do that to as well. I LOVED this house and can't wait to come back again!

This property is absolutely lovely! The Lakehouse is well thought out, comfortable, clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We enjoyed all of the outdoor living spaces (there was always a perfect spot whether we wanted sunshine or shade) and having an outdoor kitchen was an extra bonus. You can tell that the hosts take good care of the property and want their guests to enjoy it as well. Debra was always responsive with questions and recommendations. I would highly recommend for a relaxing stay at the lake!

Great place to stay
My wife and I stayed at the house for an extended weekend. It is wonderful house, as others have mentioned this was the cleanest place I have stayed. Debra did a great job of keeping us informed and adding some personal touches that were a pleasant surprise. Everything in the house is top quality, from the furniture in the house to the dock and the amazing outdoor cooking area. The house is close to stores and restaurants but is nestled in a cove that is nice and quiet. The boat launch is 10 to 15 min from the house and a large docking area and great to fish off of. We enjoyed sitting by the water under one of the 3 covered decks on the property. It was a verry enjoyable experience, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Excellence at Lake Murray
We LOVED this house! It is fantastic! Just as cute as the pictures and very well appointed. Feels like a resort with palm trees and great lighting in the landscaping. Everything is high quality from towels, to kitchen dishes, etc. It has everything you need. We loved the outdoor kitchen. The location is great as it is close to several marinas and restaurants on the water. Columbia is also close to explore. Our host, Debra, was also fantastic. She was very responsive to every question we had and made sure we had good answers, and we had a lot of questions due to bringing our boat! As soon as we booked she called to make sure we were all set and provided additional information which helped a lot with planning our trip. Our conversation gave me a good feeling that our trip would be awesome and it was! The house is small so would recommend no more than the 6 that is suggested. Two couples or a family would be perfect. Would definitely stay here again! Totally recommend this house.

This property was, hands down, the best property we’ve rented on Vrbo! The house was immaculate, and the property itself was stunning. From the multiple decks and outside kitchen, to the roomy firepit seating area, to the covered dock, every detail was perfect. If you’re looking for a lakefront getaway, you can’t get any better. Bring your boat, and be prepared to never want to leave! Last, but not least, Debra was amazing to work with. We had a last minute scheduling issue, and she was kind enough to allow us to switch weekends. Also, she was just a text away for any questions. Super responsive host, and outstanding property - five stars all around!

Amazing Property
One of the best, if not the best properties I've stayed in. Extremely clean and well stocked. The outdoor space is amazing which is where I spent most of my time...fishing on the dock.
