About this apartment rental
This historic coach house from 1884 rests on the most prestigious block in Chicago. Located in the quiet Lincoln Park neighborhood, you'll be a 7-minute walk to the North/Clybourn Red Line Stop where you're only 2 stops away from the Magnificent Mile, 3 stops from Wrigley Field, and 4 stops away from The Loop. One spot in the attached, heated garage is included as well.
THE SPACE
The space is designed by a renowned New York-based interior decorator. New wood trimmed windows, a queen Tuft and Needle mattress, mugs by Jonathan Adler, lamps from Anthropologie, local art, and a Marshall bluetooth speaker are just some of the touches you'll find around this studio space.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests have full access to the garage, coach house, and roof-top deck. The garage is shared with the hosts who live in the main house across the courtyard. The courtyard is not for guest use.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
-We pride ourselves on providing guests premium products, from Starbucks coffee, Jonathan Adler mugs, to Redken shampoo.
-A dehumidifier is included for comfort and convenience, especially in the warm and humid summer months. The dehumidifier has a bin that fills with water which needs to be emptied periodically. It is not required to empty the bin, but the dehumidifier will no longer dehumidify when the bin is full.
-A small-capacity washer and detergent pods are included. For drying, there is a drying rack in the closet (separate from the wooden luggage rack). We ask guests to dry their wet towels, clothes, or anything else on the drying rack and not on the furniture.
LONG-TERM STAYS (stays over one week)
-There are three plants in the unit that are expected to be lightly watered once a week. If guests would rather not take care of the plants, please alert us prior to your stay so that we can remove the plants.
-We offer an optional professional cleaning service during your stay for an additional fee. Please inquire for costs and scheduling.
NEIGHBORHOOD
Lincoln Park is the most walkable neighborhood in Chicago. You're only blocks away from restaurants (including the best in the United States, Alinea), the most renowned theatre in Chicago (Steppenwolf), and a beautiful strip of independent boutique shops on Armitage Ave.
GETTING AROUND
Being a 7-minute walk to the North/Clybourn Red Line Stop and a 10 -minute walk to the Sedgwick Brown Line Stop gets you to nearly everywhere in the city with ease on public transportation. A covered, heated garage spot gives you the option of driving should you so choose.

Great place in a prime location. Park your car and forget about it until you leave. Some good restaurants, coffee and donuts within walking distance. The Blue Door Farm Stand was great for brunch. Your private rooftop deck is great place to chill after a full day seeing the city. We’d stay here again.

The location is superb - quiet and old neighbourhood, walking distance to parks, and the parking helped us to leave that and spend the time exploring.

We so enjoyed our stay in the coach house. It has everything needed for a comfortable stay in Chicago. The location is perfect. The neighborhood is safe and there are many things within walking distance. If not, the train station is close to get where you need to go. The owner was very helpful and responsive to all of our questions.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the Coach House over Labor Day weekend. We enjoyed the well-decorated and stocked large studio and the rooftop deck, and deeply valued the spot in the garage that meant we didn’t have to worry about finding - or paying for - street parking. The hosts were good and thoughtful communicators and even left a special treat since I’d mentioned it was my birthday. The neighborhood is beautiful, has lots to do, and is a great jumping-off point for seeing the lakefront via bike as it’s mere blocks to Lincoln Park and the Lakefront Trail. We strongly recommend the Coach House and hope we have the opportunity to stay there again.

The place was very clean and comfortable and it's in a perfect location. The owner was absolutely amazing. He was quick with responses the entire time and even went above and beyond and helped us jump start our car when our battery died. We would definitely stay here again!

First of all, this was a sweet apartment in a stunning section of Chicago. We did not spend much time in the apartment, but it was clean and private. The surrounding area is filled with gorgeous homes.
Please consider the following before booking:
1) The bed was comfortable but the futons were horrendous. They were narrow and did not unfold to lie flat. The adult who slept on one ended up with a back ache. Describing this as suitable for 4 is inaccurate. In fact, there were only 2 chairs for the dining table. I would not recommend booking for more than 2.
2) My biggest disappointment was in the host. We arrived to the rental in a construction zone, yellow tape and all. The next morning, we were awakened by the entire apartment shaking due to construction work on the sidewalk area in front of the house. I sent an annoyed message to the host who responded by saying he had no prior notice of the work. No apologies.
3) During our stay, the toilet became clogged after using it properly. We asked for a plunger and it was delivered to the apartment. Since there was a bit of overflow after the flush, we wiped up with towels. The bathroom is old, by the way, with a sink stopper that doesn't work as well.
4) We did not complain through any of this. I thought we should receive a partial refund for living in a construction zone, but did not mention it. Instead, I found recently that I was charged $ 59.00 for bath linens (due to their old toilet) and $ 50 early arrival (of one hour).
5) I have never written a negative review on this site. But I am so tired of people who care only about making as much money as possible.
If you are looking for a cute apartment for 2 in a beautiful section of Chicago and you don't care about a greedy host, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay.

What a fantastic spot in a great neighborhood. We had everything we needed in the coach house, and the hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. The location is blocks from both the brown line and red line. Tons of coffee shops and food spots within blocks. The room was very clean and the area was very quiet. I will definitely stay again.
