This four-bedroom, two-bath home has plenty of room to comfortably accommodate every guest and is located at 615 Ocean Blvd West. The first floor has two bedrooms, the primary bedroom with deck access and a TV. The second floor has two well-appointed bedrooms and a shared bath. This home has central air-conditioning, a dishwasher, a microwave, a washer/dryer, a wet bar, cable TV, free WiFi, and spectacular beach views. Other amenities include two covered porches, parking underneath the house, and a private walkway to the beach which also includes an outdoor shower. THINGS TO KNOW Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. This rental is located on floor 2. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This house had everything our family needed - plenty of space, convenient layout, and the access to the beach was ideal. Nice and tidy, with plenty of towels and linens. We’ll definitely consider staying again.

The porch has the best view available on Holden Beach! We spent most of our time enjoying the sights and sounds from the comfort of the porch. A well equipped kitchen allowed us the option to cook when we wanted. Some furniture and interior could use a refresh but overall this was a good place to stay.

We had a nice week; first time staying at Lucy’s Cottage. Perfect spot on the beach and was a nice back porch to hangout with the updated porch furniture. House was clean and provided plenty of towels. Was nice to arrive to complimentary soaps to get us started. The only thing we missed was having an outdoor grill. If house stays in our price range, we will be back next year!

Great Location on shore overall decent place, but definitely needs some heavy tlc. Ample amount of clean towels and sheets were clean. The interior kitchen cabinets and drawers need cleaned badly. Bed mattress are old and stiff. The kitchen table definitely has seen better days. The TV in the downstairs bedroom is huge, but the TV in the living quarters is small...a bit backwards. Many light switches didn't turn on anything, so either bad bulbs or bad circuitry. That being said there are to many unprotected wires beneath house that need updated and put in conduit.

needs total cleaning per wife. needs decent cooking pans per wife. needs window coverings in upper bath and on bedroom door in bedroom to deck, rental office informed us that great room TV was broke took 3 days to replace with small new TV. worse house in 8 rentals over last 4 years.

The home has a fantastic view and is practically right on the beach. Only complaint is more blinds/curtains (especially during turtle nesting season) and the TVs were dated and not in every room. Previous reviews mentioned the patio furniture was terrible, however we were greeted with amazing porch furniture to include a couch and footrest, 2 new chairs, a lounger, rocking chair, and plastic chair. Lots of beach gear in the shower below the deck to use as well as a hose upstairs to rinse off. Appliances work fine (fridge is rather small). Pots and pans need replaced especially skillets as they were barely useable. Plenty of plates bowls and cups. Kuerig and regular coffee makers. Crockpot and new microwave. We had an issue with tv and toilet and vacasa sent an agent out within the hour! We had 8 people sleep here comfortably and could have squeezed a couple more. Parking was ample. While not perfect the home is lovely and the proximity to the beach and bridge couldn't be beat!

House was right on the beach. It’s not fancy but it def met our needs and was priced right. Plenty of room for the whole family. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the chairs out on the porch. It would have been far more enjoyable to set in a nice chair watching the ocean for the evening rather than just a simple plastic chair.

The steps have been recently redone but the back deck needs it as well. We were not able to walk barefoot without getting splinters. The rooms look a lot larger in pictures than in person. The kitchen chairs feel like you’re sitting on a toilet seat because there’s no support in the middle of the seat. The hot/cold outdoor shower is just a storage closet and not able to be used. The king size bed was very comfortable but everyone else said the others were very hard. Most of the pans are unusable because of age or condition. Thankfully we brought our own skillet. The walk to the beach is pretty easy and I loved being right on it. Two of the chairs on the back porch are broken though. There weren’t any actual toys for kids and I think there were three puzzles in one box for adults but no idea what they are supposed to look like.

When I rented this house the size and bed count were important as we were in town to celebrate the holidays with family and knew this house would be a good layout. That part is true. Upon entering the house it was clean but it was immediately obvious that the house was in need of lots of work. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils BUT the stove burners did not all work. The kitchen table had one chair that was missing an arm. The couches in the living room were comfy and large but the TV was older.. a lot older. The outside back deck had loose boards and the furniture was not great. The stairs leading down to the beach had been replaced very recently and due to the setting of this home on the lot your views from the deck were not obstructed… bonus. During our time at the cottage, it was evident that the home needed major renovations from the wall in the living room that was obviously damaged due to water leaking to the rusty air vents and the drafty windows. It became more evident on our 2nd night when winter storm Elliot blew through the area. The house shook. I get that homes on pylons are meant to move. This house didn’t just move it shook enough that picture on walls moved and water in bottles moved. The windows and doors allowed that wind to blow into the house and early the next morning the window in the bedroom where our teen sons were sleeping blew in. We were thankful that it didn’t shatter and hurt them. What bothered us the most was that when we worked up with a way to stabilize the window we noticed tape on the window locks and on the glass with a message that said, “Do Not Open Window”. It was obvious that someone was aware of the issue before the storm. When we contacted Vacasa that morning they worked hard to relocate us to another house in the island. During that time my sister broke a car mirror when her car slid in the sand driveway. One that needed maintenance to adjust the ruts and mounds. What concerns me is that many of these issues were mentioned in the reviews posted from October to December is this year. Of course, I had already rented the unit based off not seeing those reviews in the fall when I reserved. I do appreciate Vacasa trying to help us but this house is not fit for rental.

The location and proximity to the beach were the best thing about Lucy's Cottage. Shops and restaurants were nearby. The beds were comfortable, the AC was cold, and the linens were provided. The kitchen was well stocked. The covered front and back decks were wonderful day and night. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the cottage is poor and is in need of updates and repairs throughout. The televisions are out of date and the outdoor furniture is lacking. With renovations and TLC, Lucy's Cottage could be a wonderful gem!

The sheets and towles were clean but the house really wasnt,i understand its a beachhouse so it was all good exept nothing worked.the coffee pot didnt work,the stove was a hit or miss,the microwave took 4 times as long to heat up anything,honestly the house has been just overly used and no love has been put back into it :(.the biggest issue was the bed in the master was completly wore out so we slept on the couch the entire time,there was a complaint last year about the same things ,obviously the owners didnt take notice,sadly its gonna cost them at some point and im sure i will never use Vacassa again for my vacation plans.the only and biggest plus and the only reason for 2 stars is the view and placement of the house on the beach. PS the downstairs window is broke and was propped up by a stick from the outside so anyone could have gotten into the house,thats a BIG safety issue.and the furniture on the porch is unuseable,2 chairs were broken and i have a big husband so he mostly sat in the beach chairs that we brought. sorry for the truth,i do love holden beach but i will be more careful in the future about where i stay. kindest regards Melissa Beckner

Lucy’s Cottage is situated closer to the beach than it’s neighbors , so the view isn’t blocked on either side. The proximity to the beach is great and very convenient. It has a long covered porch that is wonderful to sit on and enjoy the view. We also really enjoyed searching ( and finding) lots of great shells and shark’s teeth.

The location of sitting on the ocean front cant be beaten. The house itself is in need of an overhaul: the stove burners are all slanted or broken and not easy to cook on. The kitchen floor has many tile cracks. The house needs to be painted. The driveway is just sand (not stone or paved) which is a challenge to avoid getting stuck -- and we could not park underneath (on the concrete) without bottoming out my car. And yet I can hear the ocean from my bed! Also, it should be noted that VRBO people were in contact with me early and often to make sure all was well. I did not bother reporting these things while we were there since the problems are not a quick fix.

Very Nice house. Needed a few very minor tweaks. The view was fantastic- the ocean was not blocked by any other houses. Would rent again.

The house was so dusty. Railings outside falling apart. Mold on window seals. Dirty tissues and q tips found under beds and behind night stands. Will stick to Hobbs from now on.
