Overall: We had an amazing time here, would highly recommend. Our group was 4 adults and 2 babies (1 & 2 years old), and one dog! The house was amazing, clean, well designed with pretty decor. It was very family friendly (no stairs, no breakable decorations) and perfect for our kids. The property is beautiful and the sounds of nature in the morning is unmatched! It's near some other properties with lots of farm animals like cows, donkeys, horses and even a peacock! It also has this amazing old tree that I could just look at for hours. The hosts were super communicative and made sure we were comfortable before and during our stay. I would definitely come back to this house. Thank you hosts!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at this property. The house is immaculate and perfect for a stay with family &/or friends. There was a nice welcome wine and local ground coffee for us to use, which was if high quality. It reflected the authentic hospitality that Casa Oso wants to convey for your stay. The kitchen was very well equipped as were the bathrooms and the other living spaces. The hot tub and vistas were exceptional. Just walking the property and getting in touch with the surrounding natural resources was refreshing and relaxing. I wish I would have read the check in instructions more closely as they indicate to stay right off the main road. We arrived at dark and got sidetracked on the short treck back to the property, but it all worked out. The property management was incredibly responsive and reasonable for instructions and questions. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experiece at this Casa Oso.

This home was beautiful inside and out. It had locally made coffee that was so good we seemed it out. What a touch! There was plenty of things to do to stay in and be cozy with amazing Mountain View’s! The also had brochures there to help you find something fun to do away from the home. Will recommend and stay again!

We came up for a five day visit to hike Yosemite. This property was everything we had hoped for! Secluded and quiet, private, nicely decorated with a fantastic layout that gave everyone plenty of space. The common area was bright and inviting, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had no trouble getting to Yosemite each morning along a beautiful drive that was about 30 minutes to the entrance gate. We also took an afternoon to visit June lake, which is very nearby. It’s close to several supermarkets and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at this hidden gem. The home was very clean and appears to have been remodeled recently. Excellent kitchen and the use of space is professional done. The backyard is very relaxing and a great place to gather and catch up with family. The outdoor spa helped soothe our sore muscles after a beautiful but challenging 12 mile hike in Yosemite. The views from the spa are spectacular. The sliding glass door from the living room to the backyard could use some new rollers and the final drive up to the house is a little bumpy, but besides that this is a great destination.

We happened to visit Yosemite during one of the worst winter snow storms in recent history in the area. There were downed trees, loss of power and no running water since the house was on an electric pump. We unfortunately had to cut our trip short. However, through it all, the place itself was great and the hosts were very communicative and helpful. We would stay again and may come back in the summer :)

This home was absolutely beautiful, inside and out.
The kitchen was well-stocked and organized, the beds were comfortable, and the views were stunning.
The "extra" touches (coffee, wine, laundry pods, paper goods) made us feel very welcome.
Hot tub under the stars was a great way to unwind from our hikes in Yosemite.
There was a problem with the air conditioner during our stay, but Maja did what she could to make sure we were comfortable. Window coverings for the back windows and kitchen windows would help immensely to keep the heat of the day outside, and give the AC a fighting chance.
Communication was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Our family of five was looking for a comfortable house accessible to you Yosemite. This place met all of our needs.
We loved that it was set off on its own property, and the town of Oakhurst was great. Many great options for food. Although it’s a drive to Yosemite, there are not many places we liked that were closer. And our young kids didn’t mind it at all. If we were visiting Yosemite again, we would stay there again without hesitation.
During the time we were there, the owner was very responsive to any request we had. We have stayed at many houses, and we would definitely recommend this one.

So pretty and quiet
Lovely and thoughtful touches throughout including labeled drawers for kitchen tools, spa towels, playground setup that was magical, barbecue, pingpong and more. Open space and good communication. We tried to extend our stay but the place was booked! Of course.

Great getaway near Yosemite!
We had a great family vacation staying at this fabulous home. It is fully equipped - kitchen with everything provided (coffee machine, blender, utensils, kitchen aid), smart tv, 3 good sized bedrooms, hot tub.
Really good communication with the owner throughout our stay and we just couldn’t lock the back door, and they were immediately responsive.
The only drawback of our stay is perhaps the distance from Yosemite. It worked well for us as we wanted a relaxing stay with a short visit to the park, but if you are looking for more extensive hiking then you may want a place that is closer. Second, to get to the property you will need to drive on roads that are effectively off-road for about 5-10 minutes. It can feel quite secluded, which we didn’t expect, but didn’t mind - it just might not be for everyone.
Overall, giving the place 5 stars. Great property for a group holiday where you want to maximise time together!

Great house with nice amenities
We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Oso. Check in was very easy, Maja had left very detailed set of instructions and a lot of great suggestions on what to do. The house was impeccably clean and equipped with everything you need. It offers rural tranquility but at the same time, it is a short drive to grocery stores in case you need anything.
The only downside for us was that the Internet was kind of slow so we couldn’t stream any TV. However, having a ping pong table made up for it. Overall, we spent a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend.

Fantastic property
This property is extremely well-maintained and has all the amenities you could want. We stayed for 4 nights and everything was in spotless condition.
Communication with the host was timely and accurate, can't say enough good things about Maja.
We used this location for a trip to Yostemite National Park, which is about 90 minutes away. Much less expensive than staying in the park itself. There is a town nearby, Oakhurst, which has anything you need with respect to dining and shopping options.
If you just want to use this property as a place to relax, it will fit your bill nicely. It is calm, quiet, and gorgeous. I would love to return some day just to unwind for a long weekend.

Wonderful place to stay. The house itself is lovely, comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and a delight to spend time at. The surrounding area is terrific with lovely views, great privacy. It short, a terrific place to spend time on vacation with family.

Good, but could be better.
We stayed at Casa Oso in Ahwanhee over a long four-day weekend. The house was impeccably clean, the surroundings were gorgeous, and the communication was a 10/10.
We encountered some issues that would be overlooked in a cheaper rental, but at $X a night, one would expect better.
- There is no actual dining room table. The center island in the kitchen is the only table for a group to eat (we went in the winter, so outdoors was not an option). It felt crowded with four adults and two kids, so if you are a bigger group, you will need to figure out a better plan for meals.
- The gas burners are too high and need to be calibrated. Even at the low setting, flames were above the grate, and food was constantly getting burnt.
- The kitchen sink faucet loose/finding hot vs. cold water was challenging at times.
- The kitchen is NOT well stocked with cooking utensils -- needs wooden spoons or more implements to cook with; cookie sheets; large serving bowls. We ended up having to buy extra kitchen bowls/baking sheets just to make a big meal.
- THREE dishwashing soap pods. Expect a group to do AT LEAST 2 loads of dishes a day (breakfast and dinner). It was HIGHLY annoying that we had to find/buy supplies that should absolutely be included. It felt stingy and cheap.
- FOUR washing machine pods. SEE ABOVE. Had to buy more.
- 3 dish towels COME ON! And I think we were only given one roll of paper towels. We had to buy extras. What do they expect guests to use to clean up spills?
- OH, I guess the bath or beach towels? Uh, nope. Only given one per person. So they intend for guests to wash the towels? But with only four soap pods for a 4-day stay?
- No broom, mop, or vacuum cleaner. We got the feeling they don't expect people to cook or eat in the house... We had to buy a broom.
- Sulfur smell from water in guest bathroom -- need a water filter for the entire house
- Wobbly toilet in the guest bathroom
- Toilet area in the master had a deep urine smell as though it might be under the flooring.
Hopefully, the owners can fix these issues, but if not, at least guests can be prepared to bring the needed items from home.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE
We arrived at the property and I swear it looked like a snow-covered fairy tale. The house & surrounding area was blanketed with snow and wow it was perfect! Inside the house was warm and welcoming, the big kitchen was perfect for our whole family cooking, we went after Xmas and for New Years so we made that traditional food, tamales, pozole, tacos, etc.
The hills in the backyard was perfect for sledding! We brought some inflatable snow tubes and sleds and spent a few hours in the afternoon having some much fun! It was absolutely perfect, I highly recommend this stay. The house was stocked with everything you need, warm blankets, board games, pots and pans, spices, everything!

Lovely setting and beautiful house
We loved our stay in this lovely spot. The house was very comfortable and well-appointed. The surroundings were simply outstanding, a gorgeous old tree in the back, deer in the morning, and no other houses within eyesight. A beautiful, comfortable setting for a family gathering. We would love to go back!

Maja was a great host and very responsive. The property was great and perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. The hot tub is nice and hot too. The large oak tree in the back yard is amazing!

Beautiful place!
It’s a great place! There were a couple snags when we checked in, but the owners quickly came out and took care of it. Beautiful property and the hot tub has great views of the mountains. Really enjoyed the stay!

Great Getaway
We sincerely enjoyed our stay at Casa Oso. The house is spacious and nicely finished and stocked with everything you could need. The house was very clean upon arrival and the host, Maja, was super helpful. The hot tub was lovely in the evenings and we enjoyed going for long walks in the surrounding neighborhood.
If traveling with dogs, be aware there are lots of deer, ground squirrels, turkeys etc in the area so having dogs on leash was critical for us.
We would love to return!

Perfect for Families with Littles
The Farmhouse was the perfect spot to stay with our young family, which includes a 1 year old and 3 year old. The outdoor space, playset, toys, small table and chairs, and kids plates/cups/utensils made staying with our littles sooooo comfortable. The most perfect part was the amazing hot tub with great views for the adults to relax in, with a glass of wine, while the kids were asleep. We used this spot as a base for our quick Yosemite trip and it worked out well. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer.

Beautiful home, wonderful host
This accommodation was just like the listing and we couldn’t have been more happier with our stay. Communication was easy with Maja and the house was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed from the kitchen to the bathroom and bedrooms! We were a little worried about the internet given the area but the house had no issues with WiFi and it was fast enough for us to enjoy tv streaming services with no issues. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family for future stays! Thanks Maja for sharing your lovely home with others!

Magical Serene Getaway
We rented this wonderful house with another family, four adults and three teenagers, and there was something for everyone to enjoy, from the game room to hot tubbing under the stars to grilling and eating dinner under the glorious oak tree. The views are spectacular. It is in a remote location down a long gravel road, so it is very serene and unspoiled. The house is large and comfortable and exactly as the photos show - there is much careful attention to detail, wonderful beds and linens and towels, great water pressure in the showers, a lovely tray of local goodies to welcome us - we felt spoiled! If Yosemite is your destination, it's about a 1.5 hour drive to get to the Valley floor, so plan for a full-day adventure when you leave the house. After a long day of hiking and crowds in the park, it was so nice to have this country retreat all to ourselves. We will definitely be back!
