*Please note:
Tatenda, like many villas along the south and east coast, has a shallow beach entry via swim paths amongst some silty seagrass patches for the first 50-75' from shore. South Sound can also experience the same seasonal sargassum that affects most of the Caribbean. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seagrass that is more unsightly than anything.
Fortunately, the Seven Mile Beach area (SMB) of Grand Cayman does not ordinarily see sargassum accumulation. All beaches in Cayman are public up to the high-water mark so guests can visit the beautiful beach areas along SMB for sandy, walk-in swimming if the beach entry is not to your liking – ask us for daily recommendations.
Grand Cayman is a friendly and generally safe island so you'll want to visit many different beaches during your stay. Smith Cove, Spotts Beach, Governor's Beach, Tiki Beach, Public Beach, etc. are excellent beaches to visit and offer the beautiful swim in water.

Ten family members from four generations, ages 77 years-13 months, had a great week at Tatenda! The managers, Sophie & Kathy went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Beautiful and spacious home with everything you need to have a fabulous vacation!
5.0 / 5.0
Our group of 15 easily fit on this enormous and beautiful home located near all the hot spots: Smiths Cove, 7 mile Beach, and all the beach restaurants. As we got to know the island we didn’t realize that this location in George Town was so close to all of the restaurants where we made reservations. Many of the other houses we looked out and passed on our drives at some point were much further away than we realized.
The home is a first class, amazing home. Every detail is made to make your stay easy. A fully stocked kitchen made cooking a breeze. There is plenty of space to spread out - it never felt crowded.
We spent most of our time in the pool as the beach is not swim-able or wade-able. We knew this prior to booking as Kathy was extremely attentive to all of our questions and needs prior to arrival. She was transparent about beach access and made it clear that her highest priority was that those who book have a clear understanding so that they will be happy if they choose Tatenda. Since Tatenda is so close to the beach it wasn’t a problem to pack up some snorkeling equipment plus beach chairs provided (available for guest use) for a short drive to the beach. One day we ate at Tillies for breakfast and then afterwards walked out to the beach and stayed for the day.
I highly recommend Tatenda!

This house was absolutely awesome for our group of 8 women. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need to make meals. A couple of us took paddle boards out many mornings to see the sunrise out by where the waves break. Yes some seaweed at the very first 50 feet but then crystal clear water out to the breaker wall. It was so fun and crystal clear water to swim in or just sit on your paddle board and take it all in. I would rent this house in a heartbeat.

All 13 of us enjoyed this beautiful ocean front home.
unfortunately the seaweed is just so abundant it makes swimming impossible and paddle boarding a bit difficult.
but overall this house is amazing….an A-

We loved the house for our week long stay in GC. The layout and amenities were first class and the snorkeling was amazing. There’s a shipwreck accessible by a 5 minute walk down the beach with a lots of sea life. Everything was great and we highly recommend this home.

Wonderful week with family and friends, 15 in all. Weather wasn’t always what we hoped, but made the most of it. Monique was very helpful making Stingray City reservations and bringing jumper cables. Great location, beautiful home. Definitely recommend Tatenda!

Our family had an amazing vacation at Tatenda. I don’t think anyone could be unhappy here. The house, hosts, pool, and cleanliness were all perfect. Another reviewer of this property stated, “book this house now, you won’t regret it”. I’m seconding that opinion. We will most certainly be back next year!

Took our kids and their significant others for a week long stay in Grand Cayman. Kathy and Monique did a fantastic job in preparation including emails on restaurants, golf reservations, dinner spots and island must see destinations. House was great! One of the best suggestions Kathy gave was the option for an in house chef one night at the house. We had a few hiccups, but these two are truely professional and took care of the issues asap.

That week was such a treat, wish we could have stayed for longer - will definately be back, 'soon come' as they say! The suites gave us our own space and the living areas meant we could gather in our own ways. There's plenty of sunny and shady spots, the outdoor kitchen/grill was our favourite. Monique & Kathy were great hosts, made all the recommendations and bookings we needed. Loved experiencing Caymankind again!

Our stay at Tatenda was amazing! Best trip ever. House was super clean, staff were awesome! Monica-the check in staff was super and checked in on us for everything! She recommended lots of great places! Kathy was great as well! Both were superb at communicating with me! The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the set up was great for my 5 kids.. My 2 year old son loved playing in the sand next to pool and felt like there was something to keep every child busy! We had chefs come and cook for us and highly recommend! Loved the place, staff, cleanliness, everything! There is nothing bad I could say about this place! The staff were beyond accommodating! Can’t wait to go back!

This was a beautiful well maintained home right on the water. We were a family of 12 with all ages and found the home perfect for our stay. It was in a great central location. The hosts Kathy and Monique were so helpful and easy to get ahold of. We especially appreciated the little touches, like well stocked toiletries in the bathrooms! Would recommend for anyone!

We’ve been to Cayman before and were so happy when it reopened for tourism. This trip was the best one yet because of where we stayed, hands down. Tatenda is not only a gorgeous home, but it was perfect for a group of our size (very large). We had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, but we also had multiple areas to lounge and spread out during our down time between excursions and time at the beach. The house was phenomenal, but the icing on the cake was Kathy. After meeting us at check-in and learning about our group, she made all of our restaurant reservations and even set us up with a fun diving trip that she joined us on. She is a gem! She is so knowledgeable about the island and went out of her way to make sure we had the best trip ever. This was our family’s favorite trip to Cayman and we will definitely stay at Tatenda next time we come back.

Family Island Fun
Three families of friends (11 people) enjoyed a fantastic stay at Tatenda. The property is gorgeous - spacious, very well-appointed, with every amenity you need. Kathy and Monique were so easy to work with and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. They offered excellent recommendations for local resources (shops, restaurants, activities), and also helped keep us informed and ready with recently-changing COVID requirements. Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth, getting us in to enjoy paradise as soon as we landed.
This is a wonderful home for travelers wanting to relax and enjoy a beautiful island setting, but also for those seeking to experience the underwater beauty of the Cayman coral reefs.

Luxury home in island paradise
This home is fantastic! The furniture is beautiful the art is stunning, there’s a gorgeous do at the south sound and an infinity pool. There are decks on three floors and it’s very relaxing. Highly recommended for family and or groups of friends. Plenty of space for everyone. Really stunning property.

This home is so spacious & gorgeous!
My family of 10, infant to grandparent ages, all had a blast. The home is roomy so we could all enjoy our own space, or enjoy the beautiful outdoors and pool together. There are so many activities and restaurants nearby, we can’t wait to visit again. Beautiful inside and out! No issues, and friendly management engagement. How soon can we return????

Our best “yoga retreat” so far…
Eight of us “girls” have been waiting for Cayman to reopen to take this trip and it was worth the wait. We were a bit worried about the travel protocols but it was easy. Getting travel declarations to arrive was no problem! We arrived at Tatenda and were blown away by the views—upstairs, downstairs and everywhere. For once we didn’t fight over the bedrooms because all are large with king-size beds, access to balconies and are decorated so beautifully. Yoga on the lawn & deck by the beach, beach walking, cocktails by the pool…it all was so relaxing. Plenty of sun loungers for our group too. Kathy was a great resource helping us plan a dinner and sail. The stingrays are not to be missed! I should mention that we only had 8 people but the house could easily have fit 20. Very large, lots of family gathering areas, plenty of dining space and the outdoor areas for dining and playing on the lawn. We’ll be back!

Our large family couldn't have been happier...
We really couldn't have chosen a better place for our family trip to Grand Cayman. Great location and the drive to George Town and Seven Mile Beach was beautiful and it was so easy, just right down the main road which didn’t have any roundabouts. We were so close to many restaurants and shops. There is a fabulous grocery store nearby, Hurley’s, that had so many pre-made dishes we hardly had to cook. Kathy took us snorkeling at Smith's Cove just minutes from the house. Such a beautiful, sandy beach and so many fish to see! The kids loved jumping off the rocks into the ocean.
We usually stay in resorts but because of the size of our family we thought we'd try a private home this time. We made the right choice! Tons of gathering space and large bedrooms, beautiful, beachfront with a large backyard and great pool. The kids loved playing outside! And we loved that there were two bedrooms with their own bathrooms on the ground level so that my parents didn’t have to climb the stairs. The kids also loved napping in the second downstairs bedroom since it was easy to get back outside to play! The only thing I would change would be a longer stay! We will definitely be back to this little slice of heaven very soon.
