About this house rental
Welcome to the Sunset House. This home is a multi-level home, sleeps max 12 guests, located in a quiet cove on the lake in a private neighborhood on the south east shore of Lake Livingston. The home can accommodate large groups and multiple families. Suitable for families with small children, equipped with highchair and pack-n-play (bedding provided or bring your own). Fully stocked kitchen. Keurig, coffee pot, crockpot, toaster and blender. Paper products provided. Bathrooms are stocked with soaps and bath linens.
Only an hour from Houston, sit back and relax. There's plenty of fun to be had for the entire family young and old. Cook delicious meals on the BBQ grill, propane and charcoal. Bring your own boat or jet-skis and launch from the nearby Beacon Bay Marina boat launch. Boats and jet skis must be taken out of the water over night. Bring your own fishing gear and fish from the boathouse. Hook up the floating Lilly pad and enjoy the sunsets up close for the best views on the lake.
Go across the street to the private “Clubhouse” Darts, pool/ping pong, basket ball, corn hole.
No pets allowed. No smoking. No large events.

This is a great location for a nice relaxing weekend. We have stayed here 3 yrs running, and plan on coming back.

We had originally planned a week in Galveston but Hurricane Beryl had other plans. This cabin could not have been better! The fishing off of the dock was great, tons of water toys, lily pad, paddle boards, a rope swing that was used over and over and over…..we also rented jet skis nearby. We had a family weekend we will remember forever! There is also a room across the street the teens used too. If you are traveling with older kids that want to do there own thing yet still be all together, this is the place! Very clean as well!

We have stayed here multiple times. The layout of the house is perfect for my family. It is well stocked and located in a quiet neighborhood. We spend most of our time at the boathouse which has a lot of space and a great view of the lake. Love the new furniture that has been added downstairs. This house is awesome!

This is our 2nd time to stay at this house and we had so much fun. Spent most of our time at the boat house which is huge and has plenty of covered area to get out of the sun. The house is comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Perfect for my family. Can't wait to come back next summer.

We all had a wonderful time!
Ten of us, from 12 to 83, had plenty of space to play, relax, swim, float, paint or read. The rope swing and gameroom were the biggest hit of all!

We had a wonderful time at the sunset house! Perfect location, well kept home and tons of amenities for all ages (we had children as young as 1 year old). We were so pleased and our whole family had a great lake getaway!

House was perfect for our weekend stay. All lake activities that we need at the dock, hot tub, firepit, is perfect for a weekend. Pretty similar to the pictures, even better I would say. But, in our case, the configuration of the big room on the first floor was perfect...to leave the teens all together and while the adults were still able to relax in the living room or in the porch with a beautiful lake view....BTW, the view...sunset...is just perfect.

This was a great house for a family gathering! Good location and amenities. We enjoyed playing on the rope swing, in the water, the clubhouse, the hot tub and with our yard games in the lawn. An overall wonderful time!

We had 12 ladies in our party and this was a fantastic place. We had so much fun in the lake and the house was perfect for all of us. We go to a different place each year. This place was extremely clean, and perfect for us. Great communication with the owner! Thank you for sharing your home!

Would love to revisit. We had some bad weather and got caught in the storm out in the boat. It was good the marina was so close. Would have been nice to be able to dock boat at the house.

The house and all it’s immunities were great! The location on the lake was awesome but guests are not allowed to use the owners boat lift. With the lake being a little low during our visit the dock was well above the boat. This caused a lot of extra work trying to “dock” the boat during the day as we wanted to come and go from our water activities. We had to anchor and swim to the boat a couple of times. The boat launch was near by so the daily launching was fairly easy. We DID know this was the rule in advance of booking but it was way more trouble than being able to use the lift. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay!

2nd Trip!
This is our 2nd time to rent this property. Everything is in great shape just like the pics show. The water toys are awesome and the game house is well stocked with fun. The house is very clean and has all that you will need. We will be coming back next year!

Best view on the lake!
Your home was phenomenal! We had so much fun. Every detail was covered. The house was divided perfectly to give everyone a place of their own. Adults upstairs and 18 yos downstairs but a big enough common area for everyone to hang out. We spent most of our time on the amazing large boat house. Our kids spent HOURS paddling on the paddle boards. The adults had breakfast one morning at The Cottage Cafe. Great little spot not too far from the house. Melissa was an amazing host from start to finish! Thank you for sharing your lovely home! Best view on the lake!!

Lovely Lake Getaway
Our entire family so enjoyed the lakehouse/boat dock/game clubhouse during our stay. The house was roomy enough for all of us and just had an amazing time on the deck and boat house. We happened to be there for July 4th and had an assortment of fireworks all around us. Sunsets were truly gorgeous. Just had a wonderful time. Thank you for your great home.

Love the quiet neighborhood. The house is well stocked, clean, and we like the layout. The boathouse is awesome with plenty of room for everyone. Lots of fun with the rope swing, floating pad, and the paddle boards. The clubhouse is so much fun with being able to play basketball, ping pong, and pool. So many good memories made with family. We cannot wait to come back.

this property is absolutely AMAZING. This is our 2nd time here and we love it as much as we did the 1st time. its perfect for our large blended family and we always have so much fun and relaxing time here. we will definitely book again. Melissa is the best and we had no issues. It was the perfect 4 days on the lake with the family.

Great family weekend at the lake
Kids and adults had a fun weekend at the lake. The house was welcoming, clean and just as advertised. When they weren't in the water, the kids loved hanging out at the adjacent club house with basketball, ping pong, corn hole, and a pool table. We had success fishing off the pier and spent time paddle boarding and swinging from the rope into the lake. Also enjoyed simply watching the sunsets over the lake each night.

Great Start to Summer!
We had a great weekend welcoming summer with our kids and some of their friends! The house was clean and well-equipped. The hosts were helpful when we had questions. This is the second time we have stayed at this location, and it can't be beat. It is peaceful, and the view of the sunset is the best. Can't wait to return!

Great Family Vacation Home
This house was fantastic for our 2 family Memorial Weekend. We had 2 couples and 7 kids ages 6-17. There was plenty of room and the accommodations are perfect for a big group.

This trip was absolutely EVERYTHING! Mother's Day weekend with my husband and 3 daughters (16, 13 & 6). Our host Melissa was AWESOME from beginning to end. House was equipped with EVERYTHING we needed! Views were absolutely stunning... Husband and I caught fish while girls played in the private gameroom. I Enjoyed the hot tub while the girls made s'mores. We even had a night cap on 1st floor while the kids slept on the 2nd 🥰 We've been to many but THIS is the ONE!! We WILL be back soon!!

The best birthday getaway!
We had such an amazing time here! The house and clubhouse were so clean and the activities provided by the host were in abundance!!! We felt right at home and enjoyed the beautiful home and property. Fishing was great! We caught catfish with night worms (best bait) Melissa, Andre and family have given us the best memories as a family in this house for my birthday! Thank you and cannot wait to come back.

Great place in Livingston
Truly enjoyed our stay. The layout of the house is great for multiple families. We loved all the amenities provided. We were able to relax on the lily pad and paddle board even though the water was a little chilly. The clubhouse across the road was great to be able stay up late and not disturb the younger kids sleeping. Highly recommend !

Spring Break Oasis
My family had the perfect weekend at Melissa’s lake house. Our group had kids of all ages, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The dock was amazing, and everything you could imagine needing was stocked in the house. We have stayed at many vacation rental houses, and this was by far our favorite. I highly recommend this rental.

Beautiful lake house
Our family and another stayed for 4 days during Spring Break and had a wonderful time. The boat dock is terrific with lots of things to do. I imagine it’s a total blast in warmer months. It the kids still braved the chilly waters. The house itself is well-appointed and the clubhouse has lots of activities to keep kids and adults alike entertained. Only dings would be not enough hot water (perhaps the water heater needs to be cranked up?), and the hot tub, while hot, was dirty. That water needs to be changed out and treated. But, we had a grand time and wouldn’t hesitate to rent here again.

What a great time with friends and family! This property is WONDERFUL! The upper deck over looking everything is to die for! Fishing off of boat dock was fun. Hot tub on Friday night was hilarious fun! Can’t wait to come back soon!

This place has it all. As if the lake itself doesn't offer enough to do, the house comes with a hot tub, fire pit, huge deck, and a club house across the street. The club house is a huge plus - it has a pool table, bar with fridge, basketball hoop, cornhole, darts, and ping pong.My wife and I had 9 kids with us for my daughter's 16th birthday celebration - 7 16 year olds and my sons and his friend (13). They all had a great time, and with all the activities they were never bored. There was plenty of space to spread out too.Everything was pretty much as it should be for a vrbo. If we had to ask for anything different, maybe we would have liked the kitchen to be a little bit bigger with all the teenager appetites running around, but we really could not complain. It was comfortable.The wife and I were able to retreat to the third floor master bedroom to get a break from the kids. The 16 year olds loved the lower level and were able spread out nicely.Sunset is pretty awesome, and the lake was very quite for a three day weekend, just a few boaters and people fishing.Quite neighborhood, close to an HEB and walmart, chick-fil-a and much more.The reviews on the hot tub may be a little misleading. It was hot when we arrived. After the 16 yo used it, I filled it up and the temp was low. Coupled with the very cool temps (for Texas ~40 degrees overnight) it took some time to warm back up. For future renters - we found if we put the inner tubs in the tub and covered it up and ran the jets frequently, the temp rose quickest. I'll admit I wish it was a little faster, and we had some trial and error along the way, but once we figured it out the tub was back to usable temps by the evening of our second day. It was unusually cool for Texas, so it did not surprise me that it took some time to come back up to temp.Overall, great experience. I don't think I will host too many more events where my wife and I are the lone adults for 9 kids, but if I do, this place will be on the shortlist of places to host it.

Great lake house for a big group
This house was SO FUN for a moms getaway weekend! We had everything we needed, so much space, the most comfortable beds, the best outdoor spaces with such a beautiful view… right on the lake! The game room across the street was so prefect too. Highly recommend these super attentive owners and big beautiful house for a group ready to have some lake fun!

Stayed here with friends. Had a good experience. The manager tried her best to help us get the hot tub working. The remodel work on the house is not great but other than that it's a great place.
