It’s a sad review. Firstly we would say that if the the listing was as clear as I’ve now seen on another site about the location of this property it wouldn’t be such a disappointment to discover that this property is located in the middle of the industrial environment with lorries arriving to the recycling plant from 4.30am! The garden for this property is a narrow strip between two industrial business car parks. For some people this may not be a problem but for us hoping for a quiet escape from the city with our young children it was a sad realisation. The next comment on this property is that the place is a bit tired and in need of some replacements. The leather sofa is peeling and covered by a throw but not big enough for the large sofa so comes off regularly. The coffee machine was dirty and the sink itself also seemed to be dusty/dirty and required cleaning on arrival. The bed sheets had a small tear in and just looked a bit worn through and could really do with being replaced and the microwave did not work. On our second day we discovered that the roof of the conservatory leaks and apparently has been doing so for some time as the ping pong table is rotting and the owners were already aware. The bed mattress also was quite uncomfortable and may also be in need of replacement and the towel rail in the bathroom didn’t seem to work. We also had quite a problem with flies inside the property. Perhaps unrelated to the recycling business but it certainly didn’t help keep our minds off it! I would recommend the owners consider replacing the tired and worn elements and also putting some blinds up in the kitchen to allow for privacy from the recycling business next door and reduce the bright lights shining into the property. The lighting in the lounge seemed a little harsh for a cosy evening and it would have been nicer if there was a floor lamp or better overhead lighting in the living area. Also I would recommend some kindling and more fire lighter blocks for the fire in winter months. The logs provided for the wood burner were too large to start a fire with ideally. The property is definitely large and if the roof gets fixed in the conservatory I can see how it would be a great space for a party. It would also be nice if towels were provided. Or that it was clearer in the details that they are not provided.
