About this house rental
This is living on the beach at its best. Perched right on the beach, the view of the water from the front decks is unsurpassed. Fully stocked kitchen w/ top of the line appliances & induction cooktop. Travertine and quartzite floors throughout. Quality mattresses and furniture. Sink vanities & toilet rooms in bedrooms.
Great shelling, large numbers of pelicans and other birds always present, best fishing area in region, close to Galveston but far enough away from population center to feel like a retreat. Practically a private beach in the off season. Water is clearer and bluer than that in the City of Galveston due to offshore blue Gulf waters coming into San Luis Pass with the tides. Although sand beaches come and go in front of the house, there is always sand beach along the pass toward the bridge and, in the other direction, there is extensive beach that extends all the way to Surfside. Beaches in front will accrete in the summer and slowly erode in winter. Horseback riding available 15 min. away.

We stayed in this home while we were down for a memorial for my mother. It was perfect for our all adult family. But would work perfect if you had some littles as well. We watched the dolphins off the porch each morning. The private beach was great to just go out and get some sun and then come back in to rest. We will book again!

Location was great, beach access is right down the road (walking distance) or you can fish off the rocks in front of house during high tide. Rooms are big, a bathroom in every room. (just make sure you bring deep woods off Misquitos are outrageous)

The beach was very interesting with the rocks in front of the waves to the right and a wall of rocks behind the waves to the left. Nice little section of beach for kids to play. Interior was spot on. The house was amazing. I'm still dreaming of going back. The host responded super fast and answered any questions I had. There were no issues. The house was just as pictured. Every year, we take a family vacation to this area and rent a beach house from Thursday night to Sunday. This house exceeded what we were looking for and at a great price. We will definitely come back next year.

This place was perfect! Spacious and comfortable. Right on the Gulf with awesome views and the sounds of the surf were like a massage for the mind and soul. We spent 80% of our time awake sitting on those spacious porch and balconies just chilling. The upstairs area was awesome. This home had everything we needed. Just bring food and drink and you'll be set for a really lovely and quiet place to getaway. Thanks for everything and we hope to return again very soon!

A perfectly relaxing stay! We watched pods of dolphins just off the deck. Sunrises and sunsets were stunning. Shelling and evening walks along the private beach out front only added to our enjoyment of this spacious and well maintained home. We would certainly return!

What you see is what you get. The property is very spacious and clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The ramp made it super accessible (but mind the signs - slippery when wet). We brought our rolling cart and put all supplies in plastic tubs and it worked out much better than stairs. My husband's back and knees are thankful. The views during the day and at night were lovely. The Gulf water was blue and green - not the usual area brownish. The shower and tap water were great - unlike a lot of Surfside area beach rentals. There was construction right next door - but my 2.5 year old grandson thought he was in heaven watching at eye level from the deck house construction two stories up. They were pile driving behind us - and that provided a whole other afternoon of toddler amazement. The small private beach in front of the house was just the right size for us and long sand beaches just a quick walk or drive away. Lots of room on decks and in house to spread out or all be together! Don't forget matches/fire starter! We had the food and the charcoal but not a match to be found... Enjoy!

This is my second stay at this property and it doesn't disappoint! New owners since my last stay but some improvements made. The house is spacious, right on the beach who doesn't want that?! Just bring your clothes and food everything else is at the house. You won't be disappointed. If I can get back here again I will. The owners are very responsive to any question. I miss the house already!

The Perfect Vacation
Perfect spot for our group. Plenty of room to spread out and enough seating for us to gather together to play games in the evenings. Just steps to the beach and the house had a ramp, which was extremely helpful!! We would like to come back next year please!!

Wonderful Vacation!
This house was perfect for us. Four lovely rooms, everyone had a bathroom, and nice kitchen. Very nice appliances!! Would highly recommend. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck rocking in the rocking chairs. Also, had our own little beach most of the time. This is our favorite place so far and we’ve been to a lot in the last several years. Will absolutely come back!!

Perfect Beach House!
This is the 2nd time we have rented this property. The location is ideal and the viewed are spectacular. We love that it feels like we have our own private beach when we stay here. The king sized beds are all very comfortable and the grandkids loved the bunk bed room. The house has plenty of room, is well stocked and really feels like a home away from home!

Annual Winter Trip
This was our annual trip to Galveston between Christmas and New Year. This property is fabulous. It is exactly as advertised. The views are magnificent, the house is so spacious and has everything you need! When we needed to contact the owners, they were so responsive. This is a great place for families to vacation!

Absolutely stunning
We have been coming to this area for awhile now and have stayed at this beautiful , clean home numerous times . I can honestly say this home has been well maintained throughout the years . The home is well equipped throughout from kitchen to each bedroom. . It is spacious and most importantly clean ( #1 criteria we look for when renting a property ). The outside views is fantastic with a bonus private beach right below . Love this place and will be returning for our annual celebrations .

Beautiful home with awesome views
Great Beach house! Location is great right on the small private beach and walk right down from the house. Ramp outside of home was awesome for loading and unloading with a wagon, and great for our 2 dogs. Main level rap around porch had 2 gates that closed so we could let our dogs out with us on the porch. Very spacious kitchen and beds were very comfortable. TV in kitchen was a great touch and the all the windows with great views. We would stay again. We had a great vacation!

Perfect getaway
This property is great for a family. It has everything you could ever need. Kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, utensils, appliances, etc. Beds are very comfortable. The upstairs master retreat is like it’s own getaway within a getaway. Beach access is so convenient. Waking up and having a cup of coffee in a rocking chair on the porch watching the fish jump and waves crash were the best!!! We plan on staying at this home again.

Wonderful
My husband I stayed here for our 50th anniversary. The house was beautiful and it has included anything that you would need. There was plenty of room as our son, his wife, our granddaughter and her husband who joined us for the weekend. The owners were right there if you had any questions. The house is located right on the beach, you can hear the waves crashing. The only drawback to the whole week there, was the sun did not show its face. But the time was so enjoyable it made up for the cloudy, windy and foggy weather..... would love to do it again. Thank you for a very memorable 50th wedding anniversary....

Beautiful!!
We were a family of 6 and were most impressed with this home - especially the kitchen! That's where we spent most of our time. The house offered every amenity we were wanting; abundant space, plenty of bathrooms, comfortable furnishings and an access ramp. We usually stay on the west end of Galveston, but this year took a chance on Surfside. What a nice surprise. Our view was the most beautiful we've ever experienced on Galveston Island! The bridge, the rocks, the waves, the secluded beach and the lights of Galveston - it truly looked like a postcard photo. Of all the homes we've rented over the years, this home was the favorite of our parents - and that made the trip perfect. It rained the entire week, but no matter, the open home afforded us beautiful views and beautiful mornings sitting outside. Thank you, Diane and Blake, for sharing your home. We would love to visit again!

Great house! Has everything you need!
Spacious house. Great, fully stocked kitchen. Practical layout with a toilet room for every bedroom. Perfect for those who can’t manage all the stairs in most beach rentals because it has a ramp ( which is great for dogs, too!). My only complaint is the list of things we had to do before we left. I don’t think folks mind stripping the beds and gathering up the trash, but to also have to take it down the street to the dumpster, wipe out the fridge, load AND unload the dishwasher after it finishes (which requires timing your exit just right), along with the other many things on the list seems excessive when I’m already paying a $150 cleaning fee! Remember we are on vacation.

Large beautiful oceanfront home.
The location was perfect on the beach. We ate dinner out each night. The kitchen was wonderful & had plenty of cookware & utensils. The bedrooms were spacious with bathrooms. Overall, wonderful stay & owner was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Very nice.
Great place. Lots of room and bathrooms for everyone. Incredible porch. Stove is tricky but we figured it out. Beach itself is small but nicely secluded. My dogs had a great time. House was great for them too

Amazing house with spectacular view!
Our famiy had an awesome time! There was plenty of space for everyone plus the kitchen was a full service kitchen which needs to be notated somehow in the overview of the property.
The introductory email with contact information along with “what you need to know” needs to be updated. The Wi-Fi code is wrong but we are a family of geeks so we figured it out.
I would definitely rent this home again!

tranquility and peace
this place is perfect for everybody who enjoys getting lost in the sound of the waves, the roaring of the water and the never ending display of sea life. For us 4 adults it was the peace we were looking for and for our two four legged kids it was pure bliss which everything they got to meet in the surroundings. Beach is close by, and the house has all the equipment needed to make a superb meal. It is simply the right idyllic place for every walk of life.

Exceeded expectations
This beautiful home was perfect for our group (7 adult family members including two in their 70's). We enjoyed spectacular sunrises over the surf as well as gorgeous sunsets from the wrap-around porch. The ramp made it easy to bring our belongings in and made navigation possible for my mom, who has difficulty with stairs. Attention to detail is evident in the choice of construction materials ( slate showers, gorgeous sinks, tile flooring, granite counters), that you don't expect in a beach rental. The kitchen is well-appointed too! Plenty modern conveniences. Obvious thought went into the practical layout of the home as well. We had plenty of room for our communal meals and for privacy when wanted.
You won't be disappointed if you stay here!

Great Beachfront Home for Getaway
This beautiful home is very well appointed and would sleep 12 people comfortably. With beautiful view and access to the beach, there is nothing left to ask for. And what you may need to ask for, the owners are responsive to you and helpful. We totally enjoyed our stay here and would love to visit again.

The property is well kept and modern.
We enjoyed the house and all had a good time. We didn't realize it was so far away from Surfside and/or Galveston.
The only down side is 10:00 check out time. We have stayed in 15 or 20 houses all up and down the Gulf of Mexico and 12:00 is the standard check out time. The same for the last house we stayed in at Surfside. You might think about changing it to 12:00. Remember, the people staying there have just celebrated Saturday night and do not necessarily feel like moving that fast in Sunday morning.

Great Family Holiday!
What a great house! It was everything we could have asked for and more. Spending a holiday like Thanksgiving in a vacation rental can be a challenge, but this wonderful house had everything we needed for the big family meal.
The bedrooms were great and having three king-size beds was a great luxury and made all of us very comfortable. My wife and I were especially lucky to get the master bedroom upstairs with the private deck overlooking the gulf!

Nothing short of amazing....
This was, by far, my most favorite beach house we have ever stayed at! The house is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, and well appointed. The kitchen is a chef's dream. We all really appreciated that each and every bedroom had it's own private bathroom, and that all the beds were super cozy. We all loved the spacious decks; the view could not be beat!
The beach in front of the house was great for wading and shell hunting. The water was so much clearer than it is in Galveston. I loved that we were able to let the pups off of leash to play in the water as the beach is blocked on each side by a wall of large rocks. The sand bar was sooo very neat. We were able to walk the dogs out and mosey around searching for sand dollars. For us it was just the most perfect beach; I really can't imagine anything better.
Although the walk over has not been fixed yet, there is a trail right next to it to get on the beach and a trail leading from the house to the other side of the beach. Easy peasy to get to. But watch out for mosquitos and stickers!
The owners, Diane and Blake, were great to work with. Everything was simple and seamless.
The only thing that would have made this vacation any better would have been if it were longer. Next time! Until then we will be dreaming of our Treasure Island paradise.
