About this house rental

This well-equipped, historic 2 bed/1 bath house has semi-private beach access on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and is located next to the Ocean View Fishing Pier and rooftop bar and grill!
It is about 1000 square feet in size, and has 1 queen size bed, 2 twin size beds, and a queen sofa bed in the living room. Fast WiFi, 50” smart TV in the living room and 40" smart TV in the main bedroom. Window AC units for air conditioning and each room is heated with thermostat controlled infrared units. It is within close driving proximity to Virginia Beach Oceanfront, Chic's Beach, Downtown Norfolk, Old Dominion University, and Christopher Newport University.
The house sits only about 100 feet away from the beach, with a short path from your backyard past my other rental house to access the beach. There are no steep dunes or stairways to navigate, no streets to cross, and the access is not shared with the public.
Housebroken and well-behaved pets are allowed with payment of the pet fee. This property will be deep cleaned and sanitized between every reservation. This is a recently acquired property and will be continually improved with summer profits.

Location is great. Our dog loved the beach. Air conditioners and fans were great. Washer/Dryer challenging to figure out. No spices, just salt and pepper. Mattresses wrapped in plastic making it hot to sleep. No outlet in the bathroom to dry your hair. Clean.

The grass had not been cut for a long time. The fire pit was not maintained and had excessive amount of cigarette butts in it. The chairs by the fire pit were moldy and dirty. Handrail in shower was missing. Bedroom air conditioner was making very loud noises. Very limited dishes and glasses in the kitchen.

Older house, decorated appropriately and kept clean. Everything you need for a stay at the beach. Great location. Parking lot at the pier, which is next door, stays busy all night during the weekend. Lots of motorcycles on the road all night that you will hear. But those things arent the fault of the property. All in all, this house is great for what it's for....a clean place right on the beach.

House was old (as described) and a bit shabby but very clean. Even a few minimal upgrades would improve it immensely. However the price was right and the location for that price was great! The fishing pier with the restaurant/bar at the end was a bonus. Beautiful beach to walk. The weather did not cooperate with us - we were a week too early but you can’t change the weather!

The place was clean and well kept, the building is starting to show its age, and needs a few maintenance items like weather stripping, to help with the wind off the ocean. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

location is great BUT the pier was locked/closed and that was one reason I rented there but oh well, the house yes historic, clean inside but gaps under door and cold air coming in, doors need better locks, but it was what it was better if it was warmer weather, george was easy to communicate with very helpful

This property is definitely aged. The owner was very helpful and replied to my text very quickly. Needs several updates. Pictures could be misleading, but it was a place to ley our heads at the end of the day.

Cute bungalow right next door to the fishing pier. Very clean upon entry and no problem accessing the key. We had 5 people but only 4 towels, 4 wash cloths and 1 hand towel. Microwave didn't work and there were no sheets or pillows for the sofabed which was less than clean, probably should replace it due to its age. The outdoor furniture should be replaced, tho I'm sure no one uses it. Overall tbis was a nice place, just old, but nice. The A/C worked great

We decided on this property because it was close to the bay. We did not have to get the kids into car to take to beach. Some questionable people on the pier but did not have a problem. It was the 4th of July so you would have people drinking anywhere. 99% of people were very friendly. It is like a fishing cottage, exactly what I expected. It is an older property. Very clean. I had a small problem and George had it fixed in two hours. I would not hesitate to rent it again. The pier restaurant was a big plus. The grandchildren loved walking the pier early morning. Thanks George. We enjoyed our stay.

So the place needs some updates. Beyond that everything was ok we woke up to 6 people fist fighting in our backyard at 2am.The house backs up to a parking lot for beach/fishing pier so it seems like a lot of undesirables hang out. It’s directly on beach so that was a nice touch and almost makes up for other experience. If owner put in a couple grand to update house he could charge much more per night.

I rented this house for myself and my cousin. Location for fishing was great. Right next to the pier. Short walk. I wouldn’t recommend the pier restaurant. Food was ok but the service was terrible. The pier was great.

It was a cute little house, kinda old and needs some update. The neighborhood isn't that nice but there is a fence so its safe. What we love is that it is a very short walk to the beach and it's private. We only stayed a night and it was raining so we didn't have much time at the beach. Would love to stay there again, but would prefer the other property that is the house with the bay view.

100 years old and remolded to modern perfection without taking away from the history. Remember it's archaic, so on chilly nights in the front rooms and kitchen you might have to put on a few more clothes. The bedrooms are cozy. Check the bed placements and sizes before you stay.

This was a wonderful little getaway for us. Even with the unusually high winds, we had a great time in this cute house which had everything we needed (perhaps bring paper towels?). We had great direct beach access and wish the pier bar & grill had been open for the season! We will be back. Great location to nearby restaurants, and no wifi concerns. Parking was easy!

The house was actually bigger than we anticipated. It was described well. The reviews were accurate and based on opinion. Our opinion was that everything was perfect. Our 2 dogs joined us and also loved it! The area seemed a little sketchy but there was a great tall fence blocking the parking lot so we had our own little area! All beds were made, towels provided, dishes, cooking needs, grill, fire pit, laundry- it was perfect for us coming from NY! The beach was easy access, a nice neighbor, and we just wished we could’ve stayed longer!

Sweet little older cottage like the ones I used to vacation with my family 60 years ago and the memories keep coming back! So sweet to share with my daughter and her family...everything we needed was in a short walk including the Ocean View Fishing Pier! Clean, fresh, and comfy. I highly recommend this gem!

This cute little house is located just a few steps away from the beach. We really enjoyed how close everything is, including Harris Teeter and a cute restaurant called A World of Good (absolutely delicious!). The house was very close to the road and some cars were very loud at times but overall the listing is pretty accurate.

Location is right off freeway with good parking and a quick walk to the beach. Extra AC units in the house help keep temperature down. 20-25 minute drive to broadwalk. Good location if you want to fish of peire and close to lots of local grocery/convent store

We loved this property!! The house was adorable and had absolutely everything we could have wanted. The owner responded almost immediately when we needed to get in touch with him and quickly took care of our problem. We were literally a 2-minute walk to the beach.

A perfect historical home on the beach! Spacious and cozy, it was a tough choice on whether to relax inside or lounge on the beach! The sheets were nice and clean, towels were clean, floors and appliances were clean. Bedrooms were cozy, spacious kitchen and laundry room. Only thing missing was laundry soap, but not sure if that should be provided or not. Fast internet speed. Super charming backyard with a fire pit that we unfortunately did not use, plus an Instagrammable lush tree with string lights. The host was very responsive with my questions. Glad I found this property. Literally just steps from the beach, love it! The beach was clean and not crowded, right beside the fishing pier. the available parking space is also convenient. Friendly people! We had a wonderful short getaway in Norfolk! Hope to book again in the future!

Good beach, Great pier, ice machine very handy. Plenty of cooking tools and air conditioners work well. Two nice tv’s and fresh carpet. Washer and dryer work well but dryer is very loud. Rear door has a weak lock. There are ants. No power plug in the bathroom. Grounds are rough and some pier patrons in parking lot can be iffy.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beach house, it was absolutely beautiful! I loved the big kitchen the most, and the fact that it had a laundry room as well. The patio out back was gorgeous too, even had a nice grill for us to have a cookout. The beds were so comfortable and the house was very clean and cozy! Very relaxing vacation! I would definitely recommend this beach house, not only is the house beautiful and cozy, its literally a couple of minutes away from the beach, which is great too! If youre looking to stay at a wonderful beach home, this is definitely the one to choose! 😊

THE HOUSE IS MOSTLY CLEAN. MAKE SURE THAT YOU BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED. THE KITCHEN IS NOT WELL SUPPLIED. THE HOUSE IS CLOSE TO THE ROAD. ROAD TRAFFIC AND WALKERS ARE VERY LOUD. NOT RELAXING AT ALL. I DON'T FEEL LIKE THIS OWNER IS HONEST. THIS HAS RUINED MY CHANCES OF BOOKING WITH VRBO IN THE FUTURE.

Property is NOT beach front. Had to walk past 2 other houses to get to beach. While walking past when we arrived the neighbors had not so friendly dogs. House also sits on a busy street. Inside the home had VERY bad pet smell. Outside in the yard the fence had wholes in it. We feel we were cheated out of our money. Home was not in good condition. Contacted owner he was not cooperative. He was not interested in giving us any compensation. He said we should open windows. We did not choose to stay here despite being tired from traveling all day to get there. It was that bad. We would NEVER recommend this house and feel you should take it off your website.

A vacation was needed and this place did the job. Everything we needed was there (at least our needs) check in was awesome. We arrived in middle of night. Tired and ready for bed. No delays having to meet some one. He responded to me every time i text hiim. In a timely m House was clean lamp was left on so we could see. I couldn't figure out tv in bedroom. Beach was a two min walk. Very relaxing don't have the hustle bustle of the souvineer shops. I had to small things i wanted them aware of but i wrote a letter so they were aware of these. They were not enough to put to On here. I just wanted to know.. It would not keep me from renting this place again recommending it. Way better than a motel. Thanks again.

Pictures are deceptive. The house is on oceanfront but there is another house in front that blocks the view. I’d suggest requesting the house up front if you want TRUE ocean front/ocean view location. As noted on the web sight these are fairly newer properties to the owner. The house is over 100 years old & it’s apparent the house is the process of being updated. Owners are very responsive and accommodating
