About this house rental
Spacious, decorative, and charming 1922 home in a beautiful, peaceful setting within a short walk to beach access, parks, quaint downtown Burien restaurants and dessert shops. Your home away from home for gathering with family and friends.
Convenient location with an easy commute to the airport (10 minutes), to downtown Seattle (15 minutes), and to many of the Seattle area attractions.
Our home is spacious yet cozy and charming, with many original 1922 features such as original light chandeliers, glass door knobs, and a window seat between double closets in the master bedroom.
There is a large living room with a gas fireplace for a comfortable social environment, and a large tv room for watching your favorite movies, sports, or tv shows.
Large bedrooms on the upper level, with two king size beds and one full size bed. Also, there are two comfortable air beds (each with an automatic air pump) available if needed. One of the air beds is a queen size and the other is a twin size.
A highlight of the house is the fully remodeled bathroom, which will remind you of a relaxing spa, with a large walk in shower, a separate soaking tub, and slate tile throughout.
Large, fully equipped kitchen with a custom built nook for casual meals or playing board games, of which there are many available for your enjoyment!
Large dining room that easily seats 10 for hosting meals and celebrations with family and friends. A new child's high chair is stored next to the dining room. There is also a child's crib stored in one of the bedroom closets.
Wrap-around porch with a porch swing that will invite you to watch the birds fly by.
A spacious deck near the kitchen for enjoying the morning sunshine with your breakfast, and for BBQs in the evening (with the large gas BBQ).
Large grass front yard for outdoor games (badminton, frisbee, soccer ball, and football are all provided, and tennis rackets, pickle ball paddles, and balls for the tennis/pickle ball court a few blocks away).
Large back yard for BBQs or outdoor relaxing, which is also fully fenced.
Spacious parking next to the house, down a long winding driveway, with very safe parking for your vehicle.
Quiet and safe neighborhood, great for taking leisurely walks or runs (no hills, unless you want to challenge yourself at Seahurst Park!)
The guests will have plenty of privacy - the front and back yards are large, both of which extend into a quiet forested ravine.
Note: The house is over 3,300 square feet, and the guests will be in the main part of the house with exclusive use of over 2,100 sf. The other portions of the house include a small private living area for the exclusive use of the owners (it's not a rental) that has a separate entrance and is isolated from the guest area by a hallway with a door at each end. The owners are often out of town at their second home which is only 90 minutes away. If any issues arise please contact us and we will be happy to resolve the problem (we have repairmen if needed and you won't have to deal with a property management company).

Immaculate older home in a terrific location. Great, safe neighborhood with easy access to trails, parks, and nice walks. Property has great privacy and mature landscape. Quiet, peaceful location close enough to town amenities, but not too far.

This house is big and has great spaces everywhere. Can’t decide if my favorite was the breakfast nook or the wrap around porch with swing. A great place to gather for coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Even if it’s raining you can sit out on the porch. My whole family loved this house.

I wouldn’t know where to begin. This home has everything you need for relaxation and entertaining. The kitchen is well stocked and we used the barbecue grill several times. The bedrooms were spacious and so comfortable. It was a lifesaver to have a bed for our one year old grandson and a high chair so well padded. The 3 bathrooms sure came in handy when our family who live in this area came to visit. We enjoyed our walks each day around the neighborhood and to the parks. The spacious outdoor deck with so many chairs was so nice. We enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon:evening wine on the deck. And having two living rooms inside with comfortable seating was great too. We loved the formal dining room table because it was spacious enough for all of us to gather around for the meals that we ate while staying on the property. We will surely stay in this home again!

Our stay in the Seattle area checked all our expectation boxes. We had a perfect house for a small family reunion. Hanging out on the porch together--wine, cheese and family. It was relaxing for all even for our 2 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and had a number of spices. Michael was a wonderful host welcoming us with a bottle of wine plus coffee and tea for the morning.

This is a fantastic older house from the 1920s and has so much charm. The owner has everything you need including fans which we used. The best part about this property is it is secluded from the other homes around it.

We had a wonderful stay. We spent 4 nights and the house was beautiful and spacious. The kids had a great time. We visited Seattle Space Needle, Seattle Great Wheel and Pikes Marketplace. The stay at the home also had games the kids played and had a great time. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

We really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful location. This home is clean and comfortable, with historic charm. The multiple living spaces allowed us to all gather together as a family, or break into smaller groups around the house while still feeling connected. Michael is a friendly and hospitable host. This is a wonderful place to stay!

We had a marvelous time in this very comfortable home. Multiple family members and friends came over for meals and conversation and all of them commented on the beauty of this home and its location. The two large living rooms allowed people plenty of space, sometimes the kids played with dominoes or played Twister in one room while folks talked in the other. Appreciated the board games! We had plenty of plates and serving dishes and loved eating in the little booth with the bay window when there were fewer people. Beds were comfortable and the home is in a lovely peaceful neighborhood where we took walks. Michael responded right away when I had questions. Only thing not working was a heater in one bathroom and he brought us a portable heater for that bathroom. We will definitely stay here again when we need a home for more people.

Well maintained home great for a family
We stayed here in July with our kids and dogs. Location was great - very unique location that is both secluded and within walking distance of town and Seahurst Park. If you like deck time relaxing, the huge deck with many chairs makes it easy. Full fenced yard for the dogs. Downstairs bathroom has a really cool shower.

wonderful rental with 1920s charm
We had a great family reunion in Michael's charming home. The home is private, exceptionally clean and thoroughly stocked. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need -- considerably better stocked than our own. We needed to be in Burien so its location was perfect.

Excellent Getaway
The house is quite spacious with a lot of charm. Kitchen has every imaginable piece of cooking equipment and nice tableware. Lots of thoughtful touches in every room. Excellent selection of streaming TV and movie channels with perfect Wi-fi coverage and speed. The manager Michael was a great guy and really a true host. The house is quiet surrounded by grass lawns and trees, but stores, gym and restaurants only 5 minutes away. You can’t miss with this house as your home away from home.

Unbelievable property
From the moment my family arrived to this beautiful house they knew their time in Burien would be memorable! Michael was welcoming and made sure his lovely home was ready in every way for them. The history of this grand house is proudly shared and posted which made our family appreciate even more all the love and painstakingly meticulous renovations Michael has made over the years. I don’t think there’s a better location or property in the area for a family vacation! Thank you Michael!

Fab House Great Location Super Host
This house was perfect for our family...very close to our daughter who we were visiting. We loved the Craftsman home, lovely yard and having two living areas (great for 6-year old grandson watching videos). Everything was clean and welcoming when we arrived. Mike made sure we had everything we needed and was a wonderful host.

The Perfect Visit
One of our sons lives in Normandy Park and his daughter, our granddaughter, was having her first birthday. Our other two sons and their families wanted to be there for this special event. We couldn’t have found a better place to stay. We all felt like we were home. It was very welcoming and comfortable. We were able to use some of the sports equipment available to play Pickleball and our grandson even got a little coaching on soccer moves from the host. The backyard was definitely a plus having our two grandkids with us.
This home was so well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms that we never had to do without anything.
The host was very friendly and accommodating.
We will definitely stay again on another visit to our son and his family.
Thank you, Michael

This was a great place for six people. The place was very clean and Michael was a great host. Very quick to respond. Gave us the use of sleds for the kids as well. Would stay again if in this area.

A+++
We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years and Michaels home was so comfortable the best one we have ever stayed at. It was SO quiet (felt like you were out in the country) but places like PPC Market, Trader Joes and others were just a short drive away. Everything you would need is available and very organized. My wife appreciates vintage architecture and enjoyed reading about the history of this gorgeous, nearly 100 year old home and admiring all the beautiful details you do not find in newer homes today. We will be back!
