Obviously great location! Staff were fantastic and the breakfast was excellent!

Did not like that all restaurants except one, closed at 5pm but can understand why. A bigger choice within walking distance would have been great.

It was nice. Next time we go during the week.

The rooms were in a quaint little village. It was quiet there even though it was in a theme park. We had the executive rooms and they were very nice.

One of our rooms didn't have wifi. The restaurant was okay for breakfast, but not so great for dinner and it was the only one that was open. The park is ay too busy on the weekend. You can basically only go on two rides. During the week it was much better. Be mindful that the park is not open 7 days a week.

What a joyride!

We loved the fact that this was not a standard type of hotel but that the family suites had a quaint feel to it whilst being very modern and comfortable inside. Each room had an aircon and a television! The location is amazing - private parking, no hassle standing in queus to get in, friendly staff and an available shuttle service to get to the Casino. We will never visit Gold Reef City as day visitors again - we will always stay over at the hotel.

The fact that the bathroom has a glassdoor, albeit frosted, was a bit of a concern but luckily the toilet is situated in a seperate room with a solid door.

Os quartos são super confortáveis, gostaria de saber onde compram as almofadas lol, foi tão bom dormir naquela cama 😫😫

Dos quartos Um ponto de atenção, o casal de amigos que estava conosco acabou sofrendo um acidente no parque, tivemos assistência imediata porque tiveram ferimentos, porém, acabei ficando decepcionada porque os responsáveis do parque não deram assistência pos acidente, não se preocuparam em ligar para saber como eles estavam , decepcionante.

Enjoyed the whole experience!

The staff were really so helpful in reception and transport of the shuttle and dining. Easy checking in, rooms comfortable and neat!

Enjoyable

The place itself has a most attractive history sites.

The improvement of time needs to be done at night shuttle, for fetching people, it least let it be, less time waiting instead of 30 minutes or more waiting to return back to the hotel. Time waiting, especially at night on an cold weather, is unbearable.

Our overall experience at the theme park was great but you need to sort out your water problems.

Location within the theme park was wonderful and transport to the casino was very efficient. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was your typical buffet spread which was very good.

The lack of water to the rooms was very inconvenient. We could not shower and had to collect a bucket of water down stairs to flush the toilet. Had to use bottled water to brush teeth. Not being able to bath or shower in an upmarket hotel is unacceptable. We brought guests with us from New Zealand and it was very embarrassing explaining them.

Well done to Leon and his team, a much better stay experienced!

Staff were extremely helpful and great as compared to before. A huge improvement there. Breakfast was good- also a huge improvement. The room was comfortable and clean- again another huge improvement as to previously.

Gold Reef City Hotel review

We loved the fact that my daughter and I received free pass into the theme park over two days, that was amazing, thank-you! And also the breakfast included at Barney's, it was lovely. Loved having coffee and tea available in the rooms too.

It was quite disappointing that the rooms were not decorated in the old mining days theme; it was a rather bland, average looking room. Also, the bar of hand soap at the basin is not pleasant, it smells like lard. Lastly, the reception staff organised us transport to the concert, but failed to let us know the cost, which was very expensive, so we did not get a chance to find alternate transport, or accept the cost of the organised transport.

Excellent breakfast

I was told at the gate on arrival that there were no bookings in the hotel that day. However I went to the front desk and they had to search to find my booking. In spite of there being VERY few people booked in this large hotel, I was given a very poor room. Air con did not work. The view was terrible - they had put a board on the window to avoid clients looking at the view. The headboard was tatty, the room poor The window was locked, the temperature high and air con not working. Certainly did not match the website! I could have stayed at alternative venues for less than half the ridiculous price I paid. Makes me doubt the reviews I see on the facilities on booking.com's website.
