Location. The view! Staff. Room was very comfortable. Loved the French press coffee. The food - espresso the breakfast- was amazing. Loved the sauna too!!!
Shower. Horrid. Really no pressure and it was impossible to get all of your body in it. Cold entire time. It also dripped, but the staff came and made it stop. Replace the shower heads! Even making it hand held would help. Bathroom also had bad smell… like sewer. Walls are thin, but was quiet at night, so not a big deal.

Great location, directly on the water, within 5 to 10 minutes walking distance to most of the major attractions in Astoria.
The staff were all extremely friendly. We felt immediately welcomed at check-in.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfy, the amenities high quality.
Bathrobes provided in the room for the sauna (which we didn't try).
The fireplace needs a user guide - we couldn't figure out how to turn it on until we were packing up to leave!

Way too expensive for what it is, small rooms, loud, crowded
The price was too high for what it is

Wow!! Awesome location, mild live music, trendy room, saunas, delicious food offered at the restaurant on site, walk out door to boardwalk!

Love the location, so much to do and see. The staff were above and beyond in service, conversation, and attention to detail.
The bathroom was look over substance. The shower has a great looking design but the function was poor. And can we be done with barn doors? So silly.

Location is beautiful right on the Columbia River. Live music on the front deck. Very friendly welcome at the reception. Restaurant dishes were beautiful and very tasty. Had read that the walls were thin and it was noisy but not for us. Nice and quiet.
It’s expensive. Bar/dinner Service outside was very slow but they had only one waiter who tried hard.

Absolutely beautiful rooms. We loved the saunas and the in-room fireplace. Loved the details in the room from the mattress to the curtains to the fridge- EVERYTHING. one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.
there was nothing I didn’t like

Bowline is really quite special - the location and view over the river is incredible. The curation of products, food, drink and furniture is really exceptional and works oh so well in the surroundings of Astoria.
The room was great and a proper treat.

Beautiful property! Woke up to an amazing view. the decor was perfect and everything was clean.

Great location! The modern vibe was so different than other places we’ve stayed and really liked it. Loved the sea lion watching area, the sound machine was amazing!
Parking. You either had street parking (which good luck finding) or valet only.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the riverwalk and easily walkable to lots of restaurants, breweries, and shops. We enjoyed the spacious, updated room and it was nice to have a restaurant and bar on site.
This isn't the hotel's fault, but it seems that a bunch of sea lions have made their home right underneath the hotel. Be prepared for lots of barking. The hotel supplied a sound machine and ear plugs, which helped a lot.

Everything about Bowline is wonderful! It's a great location on the water, we heard the sealions all night, an experience we loved! It is beautifully decorated, very clean. The staff were wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious, we missed drinks and dinner but I'm sure that would be so great as well!
I have some back issues and the bed was extremely soft.

Bowline was very comfortable and cozy. The rooms were spacious and had many amenities like a soaking tub and loose leaf teas. The staff was wonderful and accommodating, they treated my travelling party and pupper extremely well. The room service was absolutely incredible, fresh from the kitchen and bar, one of the best meals I've had in Astoria.
Since the hotel is on the pier you will experience wildlife and water noises. We stayed during a particularly energetic winter storm and the debris under the pier was quite noisy. Thankfully, the hotel provides ear plugs to help cancel out the noise, and honestly it was pretty neat listening to the storm from our room.

nice location.
You have to find parking on a city street somewhere then walk to hotel. The pictures are deceptive. The rooms are small and you can hear everything the people are saying in the next room. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and you have to crawl out of the whole your sleeping in to get put. The only things good about this hotel is the location and the food.

Great location. The design aesthetic of the hotel was beautiful and clean. The bar has great food and cocktails.
The walls are incredibly thin. I could hear my neighbors talking at all hours. The music and kitchen noises from the bar are SO LOUD. Even with the white noise machine I could hear bass thumping from the music in the the bar area. I wish the walls were soundproofed so my stay could have been more relaxing. It’s a shame because this hotel would have been lovely but sadly I won’t be back.

The location.
The staff were not accommodating whatsoever. Way over priced for what you get. Extra charges just for checking in a little early. Walls are paper thin and the sea lions will keep you up all night.

Everything, except the one thing that we did not like.
Unfortunately, the only downside was the incessant loud noise of the many sea lions, which we could not see as they were under the pier next to and partially underneath the hotel's property. The room provided earplugs that were ineffective, causing us to depart for home before midnight.

I have never heard of this place, I'm from seaside. I don't get out much 😜
It was absolutely beautiful. Super quiet. No rustling around from other guests. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this place!
The price of the robe. It would be great if the slippers AND robe were complimentary. That way your property is advertised elsewhere

Return visit to the Bowline and it’s still unbeatable for location, cleanliness, and the all the lovely details that make a winter stay enjoyable - oh, and the cocktails!
5.0
that it was a former cannery
saggy bed, view of parking lot - the same level, inconvenient parking, menu offered only erudite, nothing like an apple

Very friendly and helpful staff, great drinks at the bar, and the room was gorgeous!

Loved the Location Downtown on the River Walk . Cozy Lounge, Loved the Welcome Prosecco and the in-room French Press. Warm sauna on the Pier with a River View.
City view room was ground level was right on the Riverwalk. We needed to keep our shades closed and did not hang out on our patio because it was too public.. Recomend booking a second story room or a riverview room
