It was ok once we got everything sorted but like faulty towers
They had overbooked and weren’t going to except our booking through booking.com to see if everyone else turned up and had my 83year old mum very stressed out, then they wanted to charge us 150 euros but said 120 would do because of the hassle but finally excepted the price we got from booking.com

Clean room, comfy beds, lovely little village and great food!

Breakfast was disappointing, coffee was horrid. Only given one cup of mucky stuff - tea however was offered in a big pot - pity I don't drink tea at breakfast!
Dinner was reasonably expensive and certainly not memorable - only ate there for the first night and sought an alternative for the second night which was way better.
The lady in charge of the young waiting staff was cranky and rude, left two of them in tears for, very minor infractions. Not impressed. She either needs an attitude change or a new job. It was very embarrassing to watch these youngsters being verbally abused by her.
The way staff kowtowed to me and then abused their employees.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. The tea making facilities in the room was also much appreciated. The breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh to order. The menu for our evening meals was very good, fresh flavoursome food nicely presented and good value for money. Their Baileys cheesecake was the best I have ever tasted.
The venue also provided safe lock-up facilities to store our electric bicycles over night.
The smell from the men's toilet was very offensive. We could smell urine in the dining area when the toilet door opened. I appreciate that the venue was very busy when we were there and staff may not have got around to cleaning with bleach or disinfectant.

And I loved the peace I lived in drumshanbo for a few years and made good friends, my mother's ashes are buried in the grounds of the place that I lived in, and my visit this time was to bury my brother's ashes near my mothers as he lived with her most of his life. So it has special place in my heart, so I will be visiting again and staying in the hotel again in August
Th shower was just a bit to hot for me, but that hasn't put me off. Staff were great so friendly.
4.3
Great breakfast, nice decor, lively bar with music, good communication
The lack of sleep with doors banging in corridors all night, a lot of soundproofing needed and different door handles for soft close.
4.3
The food is superb, the staff are friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and well decked out. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it!
The description on booking.com confirmation email states no parking but the hotel has its own private car park

The room.
The food was not the best. The stew was not really a stew.It was thick, gloopy and tasteless. Appeared to just have been reheated from a batch made a couple of days previous. The checkin staff seemed confused and not sure where to find the booking diary. The rooms do not appear to be sound proofed as we could clearly hear the live band in the bar playing at a loud level.Breakfast times were a little awkward.Would have worked better from 8-12.
