About this house rental

1700 sqft penthouse in the historic west end of the West Loop. Nestled on a quiet street, minutes away from incredible restaurants, coffee shops, yoga studios, and nightlife. A floor to ceiling gut-rehab was completed in 2019—the space was engineered with hospitality in mind. Featuring large bedrooms, loads of natural sunlight, an outdoor balcony, charging and hydration stations, a pellet grill, and smart home technology. We've done our part to ensure that you will enjoy your trip to Chicago.

PARKING
There’s free street parking passes that will be on-site for guests throughout the duration of your stay. We will need to know the number of vehicles to ensure that we have enough parking passes available. One private parking space is available in the back of the building upon request and approval.

CHECK-IN TIME
Typically, guests may receive the keys and drop their bags in the condo as early as 1pm. The cleaners do need until 3PM to do their work.
If you'd like to drop your bags early, we can usually accommodate you.

If you'd like to take a nap or shower right away, and the night before your stay isn't booked yet, let's discuss early check-in options.

AIR MATTRESSES
There are two air mattresses in the property, both sleep incredibly well, and are kept in the closet of the 2nd bedroom, and hallway coat closet closest to the kitchen. Extra Linens can be found in the coat closet as well.

The entire condo is yours during your stay! You will not share this condo with anyone outside of your own group!

Guests may request an early bag drop off as early as 1:00PM, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate, but we will try our best. In the cases that we can accommodate, bags can be dropped off after which time we ask that you leave the condo until 3:00PM to let the cleaners finish cleaning.

The property was very clean and a short drive from downtown. Very easy to reach out to property manager with any questions. Property was very comfortable.

Check in was very confusing. Grill was broken and not told to us ahead of time. Shower door missing and floor was always getting wet. Kitchen was poorly stocked and old. Beds were very soft and uncomfortable. Faucets not secure in master bath. No cushion for outside couches. Had to empty dishwasher before using kitchen. No closet in master bedroom. No tvs in any of the bedrooms.

I have nothing but good things to say about the property and the owner. The condo was clean and neat when we arrived. The check-in process was easy and the location was perfect for us. This owner has gone above and beyond for me. I accidentally had a couple of Amazon packages delivered to the condo address. Owner graciously agreed to forward my packages to my home address. All in all, a great experience!

I stayed at this VRBO in 2023 and found it to be quite nice. I did not have much interaction with the hosts at that time. I liked it enough to book again for 2024. I booked for Jan 2024. That weekend Winter Storm/Blizzard Gerri hit Wisconsin (where I live) and Chicago (where the VRBO is). The National Weather Service issued multiple warnings that travel would be impossible, stressed the importance of not travelling, and even grounded all flights in and out of O'Hare Saturday morning of that weekend. I communicated multiple times with the host about my concerns about being unable to drive to the VRBO and they told me it was 'just a little snow' and they would not refund anything and I should have purchased travel insurance. I called VRBO and spent multiple hours speaking with their customer service. Their customer service then spoke with the host. Customer service told me the host declined to speak with them because it was 'dinner time', later customer service told me that this host was unusually adamant about not cancelling or refunding anything for this trip. VRBO has a policy where it will allow hosts to cancel bookings if there is a natural disaster such as a blizzard without repercussion from VRBO for cancellation. VRBO assured me that this case would fall under this policy, but it was up to the host to cancel. The host refused to cancel. The host did not care if I would die trying to get to the VRBO, they were not at all sympathetic about the situation.

This was a great place to stay as it was nice and only a 8 minute walk to the United Center.

Overall we were happy with the location of the condo, but some things need to be fixed or done a different way. The check in process did not go in our favor. The house was not ready for us to enter when we arrived at 3, the cleaning crew was still onsite and we had to wait 20 minutes. There are 2 ways to enter the condo, the front door by using the key in the lockbox. There were 8+ lockboxes hanging on a fence. When we finally figured out which one belonged to us and got it opened, the key was missing. We had to use the back staircase, similar to a fire escape to enter and leave the condo. For my 81 year old mother that was a challenge. The condo does not have a Kuerig coffee pot (we brought our own K-cups) thank goodness someone else left ground coffee with filters behind or we would have been out of luck. The second day of the trip the heat would not come on and the owners solution was to send us video on how to turn it on. By the next morning the condo was 53 degrees and a technician was sent out to fix it on our last night there. The main bathroom shower has a glass door missing and it made it very difficult to not get water on the floors. The tv remotes did not have batteries. We had to end up casting from one of our tablets to watch tv. This could be a great place to stay if better instructions had been given.
