Pretty and quiet space. The host was responsive and attentive. There were two lovely dogs to guard the property.
Locating the hostel through google map was very difficult. The road from main road to the hostel was very rough and nobody in the area actually knew about this hostel. It must be a new establishment.

Ligia and Joshua were wonderful hosts. It was like staying with friends. The house was clean; bedroom spacious and comfortable; breakfast of fresh fruits, toast with fresh tomatoes, hard boiled eggs and onions was good; great pets - two lovely African village dogs, Kes and Kira; within 1 km of downtown Arusha. I would be glad to stay here again.
Hot water pressure in the bathroom was very low. Wifi was somewhat slow and tends to lose connection from time to time. Streets and walkways near the house were muddy and very uneven. Not a great deal to see in the neighbourhood.

I spent my third time in Arusha at this hostel and I was staying there for two weeks.
The hostel is absolutely clean and inviting. It has beautiful rooms with very cozy beds. The area of the hostel is super quiet at night (in comparison to others), so I had really relaxing nights.
Beside the friendly neighborhood, the hostelowners (Ligia & Joshwa) are very welcoming and always engaged to make you the best stay at their place. As often as possible they escorted me to the shop (next to the hostel) or to the drivers to make sure I’ll get the best prices. They were always available and helpful. Even when i needed to get picked up in the evening, they organized me a transport.
After having very nice talks on the cozy terrace with Ligia in the evening, Joshwa served delicious local food for dinner.
All in one I really had wonderful stay there and felt very comfortable.
I absolutely can recommend this hostel and I definitely will come back.
Nothing to criticize.

We had a great stay in the House of Black and White! It is located in a small street but in a very safe neighborhood. It has a spacious garden (with two very friendly dogs and a small turtle) and great breakfast. The hosts are very welcoming, we especially enjoyed the dinner they cooked for us (Ugali). It was a lovely evening in which we learned so much about local culture and also had a lot of laughs! Part of the guesthouse revenue goes to a local NGO supporting the neighbourhood. So if you want to contribute to the local community definitely stay here.

Enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Joshua and the whole staff are great and very helpful, the hostel is spacious and clean. There is a nice outdoor area and even a fire pit. I had a good time playing with the dogs as well. It's located a few minutes drive from the town center. Will stay here again when I get back to Arusha!

The house is very clean, very close to the mainroad and close to the center. They have hot water and the toilets are super clean. Very close to the mianzini supermarket. We had an amazing stay, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a shared kitchen we could use for cooking our food bought in the supermarket. The garden is really nice for chilling and the area is really calm. I would recommend this place to anyone who is planning to visit Arusha and wants to find a centric, calm and safe place to stay.
