We did enjoy our stay at Northern Lights Mansion. Our room was clean and spacious with a private bathroom and aircon. The kitchen is well equipped and we were given complimentary water and coffee throughout our stay.
The house is 5 minutes from the subway and we felt safe in the neighborhood.

Very well-maintained, clean, nice and chatty people working in the house.
As it’s an older house, dont expect lifts or easy stairs.

The property manager Avery was excellent. So accommodating, kind and pleasant. He showed us around the kitchen area and helped with getting around. It is located near a Lidl grocery store and Rosa's pizzeria which we really enjoyed.

Love the location as we don’t like to be compelled to midtown and have family in Harlem. Love the architecture of the building and the design. So beautiful.
We visited during change of season from winter to spring. If you’ve ever lived in NYC then you’re aware of the power of the RADIATORS. It was a very warm nights rest.

A great home away from home feeling.
Two steepish flights of internal stairs to our room. Not a big issue but something to consider. A nice touch might be to have a kettle in the room for times of feeling like a cuppa and not wanting to tackle the stairs.

I loved the service. The manager was great and kind, which is a crucial aspect for me. In addition to this, the property was in excellent condition and it had a vintage style that we all loved. I would definitely return in the future.
Minor aspect: I would like to be able to have more control over the heating temperature.

The place was amazing. My room was huge and so comfortable. And it came with a built in dry sauna?? Haha. There isn't a room like it at this price in NYC. And you're around so much food. The neighborhood is 👍
So this was a one off event but it was super weird and way uncomfortable. A friend of mine is a bartender up in Harlem and when he got off work he and I were going to meet up. This was around 4am. Waiting for my Uber this old man came out of the office and scared me to death. He was shouting at me telling me to get out of the property like he was kicking me out?? I told him I was a guest there and showed my booking confirmation and he was like yeah I know but get out why are you up so late. I kind of just ignored him and got in my cab and didn't hear anything about it again. But what was that and why??? Did not appreciate that moment but it was the only hiccup in an otherwise wonderful stay

Authentic, beautiful property with staff who make you feel completely at home. Great opportunity to meet others guests at the communal breakfast table, or sit awhile in the stunning lounge and take in the wonderful renovation of a charming Brownstone.
Enjoy everything there. If you don't get into it, you won't relax

Our entire stay at Northern Lights was fantastic. From the moment I booked my stay- the manager was in contact contact with me. Our flight got delayed on check in day and he was checking in on us and making sure we were all set. I will say there was a 100$ check in fee for checking in after midnight- however, the manager stayed at the building until we got there, so I understand. Aubrey- the houseman- was just an absolute delight. He was so friendly, interactive, and just a great person to sit and have a conversation with. He really made our stay great with being attentive to just being so nice and welcoming. Thanks Aubrey!
They offered coffee in the morning and water 24/7. Our room was fantastic. And the location is in Harlem- so it was a perfect place to catch a subway to all the main attractions while also being in a quiet neighborhood.
We would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling here and our friends and family.

what I liked about the property was how close everything was as far as the location, everything was either in walking distance or easily accessible by cheap Ubers. everything from bars and restaurants around the area and the beautiful interior of the property, the bathrooms are stunning and the beds are comfortable.
No real staff on the premises if they were we must have missed them but they definitely were on call by so I guess that Helped.

Host was absolutely accommodating, helpful, and pleasant. Location in Harlem is perfect, super close to everything, especially the Harlem hot spots, Central Park, Yankee Stadium, and the airport! A lot of food options close by and of course the Apollo theatre!
Comfortable bed, nice clean bathroom and clean, fun, eclectic decor throughout the shared parts of the bed and breakfast (kitchen and dining room). Really well priced for NYC as well!
The only thing I would have liked different was to have a closed off toilet. The suite/floor we were in was nice and has an open concept in which one can view the sink, shower, jacuzzi and bed all from one spot, which is fine for a couple. The toilet however, although tucked away around the corner of the shower, didn't have a door to shut, which was weird. Also, not a big issue, but the mini fridge in the room didnt work and I dont think there was a microwave on the premise to easily heat up food.

Beautiful old brownstone, conveniently located, friendly staff, very clean and comfortable.
Several unfixed details such as missing latch plate on bathroom door, burn holes in linens, cheap plastic standing lamp, dark at bottom of stairs, etc.

Noise from other guests staying.

the location was the best thing about the property
Everything advertised was a lie but what’s more disappointing was how I was treated after I pointed this out. I paid a nice amount of money so I didn’t expect all of the false advertising. My “balcony”
is a roof top area that you climb out of the window & step down on to a step stool to get to with no gate or boarding to prevent a fall. my “walk in closet” could barely fit my coat in it. You have to stand on the edge of the roof to see the “garden view” Just to see everyone else’s property well maintained not mine. But honestly the treatment I received when the jacuzzi stopped working solidified me never coming back here. around 11pm as my wife was in the jacuzzi waiting for me to get in & it just completely died. for a few minutes we tried to turn it back on but nothing happened. so I went down to the office to find a note on the door to “call Audrey”. I called the number just to be told that he left to go see his mom & he would be back around 1am. annoyed but understanding I simply agreed to this. he calls me back a few minutes later to tell me to “hit the jacuzzi button on the circuit breaker “. reluctantly I did it but it Never felt good that no one was there to help with this issue. The circuit breaker didn’t fix the problem so I called him back & at this point was-told it was Pointless to come back To Get there at 3am & can’t fix the problem. unable to do anything about the situation we tried to enjoy our night as best as possible since this was a birthday trip. The next morning the maintenance guy was very rude to us while we were explaining the issue & showing him the videos of what was taking place the night before. He literally told us after he fixed the issue he purposefully turned our unit off since we had so many complaints. He was very argumentative & just not helpful.

The host was so welcoming and helpful! I loved that there was plenty of coffee, water, and snacks readily available. It's an older building with beautiful woodwork, wooden stairs, etc. The stairs creak, but not more than to be expected. I loved the aesthetic. The room was spotless, and I felt very safe.
There was nothing about the space that I did not like.

I loved the Harlem location, it is close to transportation, restaurants, and stores. Northern Lights harkens back to a time of elegance and has plenty of vintage charm and decor, with a twist of modern. It boosts a big, beautiful kitchen and fridge to store stuff. My room had amenities like a sauna and five jet shower and big screen cable TV. The front desk manager/concierge was very welcoming, gave me a tour, and helped me with my bags.
Luckily, I had my own, but there was no soap or body wash in the bathroom. A thicker comforter or bedspread would have been nice. And unfortunately where I stayed was close to the front sidewalk and I could hear voices for a bit, but that is typical sometimes in Harlem.

Our room was beautifully appointed and quiet. Having Aubrey there to greet us as we entered and say good-bye when we left was an extra special touch! Building felt secure and the restoration was truly lovely.
We were on the ground level so could not pull back the curtain for natural light. Some small noise at night when people checked their mail or put out some trash but overall, not a big issue. Remarkably quiet side street off a busy main street.

The host was incredibly kind. The shared area and kitchen were very clean and unique. The room was also very unique and cozy.
The only thing about my stay that I would mention is the room and entire building were too warm. I opened the window and turned on the air conditioning when it was 20 degrees outside, and I still could not sleep in the heat. However, it was still a wonderful stay.

The service and facilities were amazing. The rooms were quiet and the kitchen was immaculate. The jacuzzi was easy to use and they went over the process with us personally before we checked in. The voucher for breakfast the next day was awesome.
The bed was a queen kind of small for the size and decor of the room. The bed was not very comfortable and was my only complain about the entire house.

NONE PROVIDED MORE LIKE A SHARED HOSTILE
RENOVATION NOT UP TO PAR...UNABLE TO SLEEP DUE TO CONSTANT WATER HAMMERING AND EXPANDING OF FLOOR BOARDS ALL NIGHT.JACUZZI MALFUNCTION, LEVEL FILL LINE TOO LOW, UPSTAIRS ROOM IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO LOWER KITCHEN WITHOUT RUNING INTO OTHER PATRENS ;NOT AN INTIMATE FITTED SESSION

My girlfriend and I couldn't get inside and we had to book at the Radio Hotel to get some rest.
I could not get into the listing, no one answered the phone and no one answered the door. I did not stay at the Northern lights mansion so there was nothing to like.
