Blev överraskad av att merparten av personal på ett hotell inte kan grundläggande engelska. Kommunikation var ett problem.

De ställde till med en stor scen för att jag ville betala en mindre nota med kort då jag väntade på min taxi till flygplatsen. Trots att jag bott och spenderat pengar där var jag tvungen att handla mer i baren för att få betala med kort. Otroligt icke serviceminded som gjorde att man lämnade hotellet med lite sur eftersmak.

Luxe in Dakar

I appreciated the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel. The room is spacious and luxurious. I really loved the big bed and the hot water in the shower. The swimming pool on the roof terrace of the hotel was also very pleasant, with a beautiful panoramic view of the city.

What I did not like was that the cleaning lady was pushy when she wanted to clean the room. So I had to wait outside my room. Also, this cleaning lady entered my room uninvited to check the minibar, even though I clearly stated that I was naked and wanted to dress up first. What shocked me was that an employee of the hotel asked me for 300€ which he said he would pay me back later. He was a bit pushy even though I clearly stated that I didn't want to lend him money. I don't perceive this behavior as part of the hotel. The other employees were very friendly. I think it is more the attitude of locals in Senegal. Although maybe the hotel itself must keep a closer eye on their employeess.

The breakfast was an average buffet. It had ample selections

Better effort at refilling the buffet as it got low. If one did not come down at the very start of breakfast there were slim pickings.I had a comfortable and pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is new and clean, rooms are big. Majority of the staff is nice and helpful.

The hotel is still unfinished (as of Nov-21), so the swimming pool is not available, while the bar and terrace on the last floor are there but not fully functional nor particularly inviting to enjoy a drink/food. Breakfast/dinner choices and quality are mediocre. Airport shuttle (through Hertz) is expensive and on arrival I had to wait 45 minutes outside the airport because no one explained I was supposed to go at the Hertz desk

Noise nextdoor two nights out of seven, but not really something the hotel can control 100%.
