Beautiful, spacious home. Everything was clean and comfortable. Teresa and Cliff were the kindest, most welcoming hosts we have encountered in Tanzania.

The house was very spacious and comfortable. The back garden and gazebo was wonderful!
There were no portable fans only ceiling fans in the bedrooms

Owner of the homestay was away traveling, but Eliya and Cliff took really good care of us. Can’t stress enough how nice these guys were.. very very warm and chill guys!
Room had a nice authentic African shack look and feel to it and as everybody else mentioned here, food was amazing!
that we didn’t stay longer :)

Beautiful location to relax. Most travellers stay there only one night. We stayed 2 nights and it was too less. Nelson and Teresa, the owners take good care of you. They can organise tours and transfers. Elia and Cliff took us for a nice walk around the village (free of charge, included in the price).

Lovely charming staff - we were welcomed with fruit juice on arrival and shown around the property. Great garden setting. Choice of rooms. Very comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom. Pristinely clean everywhere. Super bar/dining room area. Transfers organised by hotel and very efficient.
The business was fairly new, and is clearly going to be very successful, but one thing that could be improved in the future would be proper doors to the bathroom rather than curtains.

Our stay was Amazing! We fixed a taxi from the hotel to pick us up and bring us to the hotel. When we arrived they welcomed us with a fresh watermelon juice. The family and crew working there are so heart warming it feels like family. No question is asked too much for them. The owner helped us a lot with planning trips and taxi’s. And the food is So good. Even the serving is done with so much passion. They ask you how late you want your breakfast, lunch and dinner they are really flexible with that. Dinner is $15 pp and it is totally worth it! They also have a little shop to buy some souvenirs and there is WiFi in the dining area. We stayed in the Matope hut for a week and it has all the basics you need. We totally recommand it to others!

This property is a proper homestay. The family is very nice and accommodating. The rooms and bathroom are clean and comfortable.
The power did go off for long stretches of time. This is normal for the area. They had solar lights that helped. The property isn’t as close to the stay as I thought. It’s about a 40 minute drive from the homestay.

I really enjoyed the uniqueness of each of the rooms. The family that runs Charming is amazing. Very kind, friendly and helpful. When we arrived they welcomed us in with glasses of fresh juice. They have two young kids who were so lovely and sociable and played with my kids while we were there. Everyone's english was quite good so there wasn't a concern there. The outdoor restaurant was lovely and they have a small gift area where you can purchase items from local artisans, which was a nice touch. They put great care into their meals and I thought they were delicious. On our last day, they offered a walking tour (for free) of the immediate area. We felt quite safe at Charming as it was fenced with a large gate and guard dogs were let out at night.
We spoke to the owner about a few improvements that could be made. He was very open about wanting to hear our suggestions. Shelves in the bathrooms would be very helpful as well as wall mounted fans in the rooms (to help with mosquitos and air circulation) and an end table beside each bed (our room had one end table with two beds). The free Wifi became an issue as the week progressed as we used it heavily and it ran out. We had five adults in our group and we all needed to work while we were there. In hindsight, I would have talked to them about it in advance to see what could be arranged. There is a mosque nearby (which we were aware as I had read all of the reviews in advance) and the early morning prayers at 4:30-5am were hard for me to ignore so I used ear plugs which helped to be able to sleep through. A leak in the bathroom was addressed quickly.

Most friendly and kind hosts and Jacob is a great cook, made us a lovely dinner after a long day on the road. Very safe and quiet!
No sign posts and not able to locate with google maps. They were very helpful and send someone to the nearby petrol station, to guide us to the property.

Friendly staff, welcome drink, comfortable bed.
There was nothing special about the place, room was very basic, dark, cold, with insufficient lighting, no shelves. Dinner was overpriced, not worthy 15 USD per person. Trying to pirch rhe breakfast a three course breakfast, where one course is jam and toast was ridiculous.

Very friendly staff and great food! The bed was comfy and the bedroom was spacious and had everything we needed! Great value for money!

Stayed overnight with my husband to leave to the airport the following day. Host was attentive and very friendly. The food is amazing. Breakfast was included but we decided to purchase lunch best decision ever. A 3 course meal was freshly prepared. Service was spectacular felt like I was at a 5 star hotel.
Cabin was clean and had everything necessary. Will be leaving fully rested and with a happy tummy lol!

Quintisential East Africa. Verandah overlooking garden to have a cool beer and lovely evening meal prepared by chef to your specific needs .
Call to prayer woke us up early morning, but that could happen anywhere, not just this property.

The chef Elias is excellent. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious with really fresh vegetables and nice spicing. Coffee was excellent( but no cream available). Internet and hot water was hit or miss and credit card machine was down….after advertising pay by card. However, staff was nice and ran interference with pick up by travel company. Lovely garden and sweet dog. Very clean for a rustic accommodation.

the rooms are very nice, eco friendly, food is very good and not expensive, breakfast is also good, great owner and staff
needs more light in the room, at night we had to use our torch to see in the room
insect nets should be put with the window and also above the door and a lot of mosquitoes come in.

The staff is amazing. Very kind and helpful. Good food.
You can't even imagine how dirty and cheap everything is. Not by European standards but by African standards. All is made only for profit here. 0 investment. Brown towels (they used to be white), dirty sheets with a lot of stains. Broken mattress. And a lot more.. (taxi also very expensive. They want to rip off tourists from everywhere. Is 40 USD here. We found one with 25 USD)

The host and his spouse were very kind and welcoming. the hut I was staying at was very cute. Dinner area was very cozy, and dinner and breakfast were amazing.
I had an issue with local bank and hosts kindly offered to go there together and I appreciated it a lot. Overall it was a pleasure to stay here ☺️

Authentic, lovely small place not far from Arusha, Kilimanjaro and the JRO. Lovely family with a great idea for an accommodation. Fabulous dinner - the chef deserves a Michelin star.

Really friendly people, the place with the lovely garden, the food and our room/hut was really nice, we enjoyed our stay very much.
In the night/early morning we got waked up by dogs, later the church bells and the Imam.
