About this apartment rental
Set within a 14th-century building, this apartment has a keen sense of history without compromising on modern convenience. You'll find original wooden beams, exposed stone and, through the window, charming views of the Parisian street scene below. However, the geometric shapes of the sleek furniture and neutral, sophisticated colour scheme bring this home right into the present day. You'll love relaxing here between ticking off the monuments on your Parisian sightseeing list, perhaps over a glass of pinot noir on the sofa, or with a fresh coffee and a croissant at the breakfast bar. The home is located at the quieter end of the restaurant-lined Rue de Buci, just by Saint-Germain-des-Prés, meaning you're at the vibrant heart of the Rive Gauche. Café de Flore is a two minute walk, the Luxembourg Gardens are a seven-minute stroll away, and you can arrive at Notre Dame in around fifteen minutes – plus, if you want to go further afield, the Mabillon métro station is just across the road.
Home truths:
* At full capacity two guests will be sleeping on the double sofa bed in the living room, although it will be at the expense of lounge seating
* There is no formal dining space in this home but there is a breakfast bar with four stools
* The sleeping nook with a second bed in the master bedroom is a very confined space
* There is a skylight in the master bedroom which connects to the neighbour's terrace above so you might see them taking in the fresh air
* There are some low beams in the master bedroom
* Both bedrooms are lacking in natural light
* The living space overlooks a busy street so you should expect to hear some noise, particularly with the windows open
* There's no air conditioning but the host can provide fans
