Mr. Happy, as he carries his name, always giggling! He’s very accommodating and always thinking of the food he will serve for us in the morning and evening. Thank you so much!
Our experienced staying in your guesthouse let us feel like we’re in our own place. Thanks for your boys who always offering to us for a coffee and tea. I won’t forget the “Egyptian Whiskey” you introduced to us (actually it’s a tea).
Hope to see you again …you might visit us here in Canada!
Very short stay

So Hapy and his sons were keen to look after the guests...always offered tea. The breakfast was a good size. The room was clean...the shower was good. There was an overhead room to keep cool. Hapy organized some tours and transfers..I thought they were pretty good ...I think the price is always matched by your bargain skills! The guesthouse is located in the village on the West bank of Luxor
I found the guesthouse was a 20-30min walk to restaurants and ferry across to main East side Luxor... this was a bit far for me...but my fault for not checking location well.
I found meals at hostel a lot more expensive than restaurants in Luxor ..so if I came back I would eat out. Overall a good experience though thank you Hapy and sons

The place was perfect to escape the noise after Cairo, they even prepared a ramp for my wheelchair and helped with everything. The food was good too, and the location is near the ferry and if you need a tour Happy can arrange that too. Happy and everybody are very friendly and helpful, you will feel at home.

Property had a decent location but was hard to find.
The rooms were filled with bugs as well as facilities. We ended up staying one night. The beds have bed bugs and I ended up having so many bed by
bug bites all over my body so do not recommend at all.

The owner Happy does his best to accommodate his guests. He organized a bike rent for us (120EGP/day) and drove us to the rental shop with his motorcycle. Breakfast was good and plenty - nice to have it in the beautiful garden. The place is very quiet and surrounded by banana fields. Since it is a bit secluded it's approximately a 30min walk to the ferry station and area with restaurants, bakeries, bigger shops, etc. but if he has time, Happy might take you there.
After he brought us to the guest house from the train station, he asked us to contribute some money for the ride, even though it said in their initial message on Booking that they offer pick ups for free. Apparently it was "too far" and normally the pick up is only from the ferry (it did not say that in the message). This was annoying for us because in Egypt you often get harassed for money anyways.

first it doesn’t have a river view like it’s said
internet is so bad and wasn’t working and when I complained he said it’s finished and didn’t charge it
one of the rooms didn’t have bathroom.

The main highlight is the garden. The bathroom was nice and clean. The staff was very good. Happy helped us arrange our transport and was always around to check if we needed something. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and abundant.
The only perk is the location. It's a good base to visit the west bank with a taxi, but it's isolated from the village. This makes it a great place to relax, but doesn't allow you to roam the streets of luxor, which is quite entertaing. Anyways, the closest minimarket and street food is at 10 minutes walking, the guesthouse has food and a minimarket, so it's ok.

Happy and Ahmed were very kind and helpful.
The place was very clean and the dinner amazing!!
Thank you very much!!
The location is not very good, but the view of the balcony is very nice!

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing place away from the Chaos of the city, this is it! Mr.Happy is a fantastic host, and can help you with whatever you need! (Ahmed was great too!) The place feels like your home from the moment you check in. Amazing value & Wifi is great too! Thanks for everything Happy! ✌🏻

This is a fabulous guest house on the west side of Luxor (side of The Valley of the kings). To reach Luxor centre you have to take a boat across the Nile. the property was clean, lovely (owner & Egyptologist) was also our tour guide. He speaks fluent English, and Arabic. We learnt so much on the tour of The Valley of Kings and the second day we went on another tour around Luxor to Karnak and Luxor Temple. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food at the guest house is very good (better than nearly all meals we had in Egypt) . thank you so much for a great hospitality!
All good!

This is the best place I stayed at in Egypt. The hosts Happy and Ahmed are so generous, kind and friendly. I really recommend the place, especially to backpackers and free spirits. I could just chill with the owners the whole day. The surroundings are truly amazing and all the people so nice and welcoming. The place has a nice garden and a rooftop with a view of the Nile and banana trees. The breakfast was also really good. Happy will be happy to help and provide you with everything you need:) truly feels like home to be here. Also, it's the first time I leave my room open the whole day and I really trust the people. You will fall in love with the place and the locals.

AMAZING hostel! I’ve traveled 58 countries and countless hostels, but the owner (who is so helpful and hard-working that he could easily be running a massive luxury hotel) , staff, and vibe here are absolutely golden.
They helped me in so many ways and do anything it takes to make you feel at home. I recommend staying in the West Bank, and this place is it!
zero complaints!

the welcoming from happy who came to pick me up at the station was really good
the place is in the West Bank so It is much more quiet than the east bank and close to the attractions like the valley of the kings or Habu temple
good garden with plenty of space to relax
good food

The host Mr. Hapi is extremely helpful - he would pick me up each time from West Bank ferry to the hotel and always there to address every need of mine, gave me tips about navigating the area, arranged taxi at reasonable prices. He really went the extra mile to make me feel at home. The hotel is located in the quiet and peaceful west bank and the rear garden is a great place to enjoy breakfast and chat with other travellers. Highly recommended!
Water in the bathroom can be stronger but it’s worth for the money!

Peace and Freedom hostel is a beautiful place on the West Bank of Luxor, a good option to take a break from the noise and lights of the East Bank. In the hostel you find a pleasant atmosphere with very friendly and hospitable hosts. Really, they have chosen a very suitable name! 😊
It's about 5 minutes by taxi from the public ferry and if you like to walk, it's a 20-minute more or less rural trail, which is good for getting out of the city a little bit. In addition, it has a variety of offers to sit down for a drink or eat something next to the Nile.
The hostel has a beautiful well-kept garden with different options to enjoy the outdoors. The breakfast is abundant and the whole place is very clean. But above all, it is a place where you can see that a lot of love has been put into it.
Thanks for so much kindness, friends! I had a very nice time. I wish you the best... 🌈🌱🙏🏼

comfy bed.
It’s location was not great. the toilets weren’t that clean either. The host was not helpful whatsoever and made it seem like the only option was to use him and his friend for a drive around at a really steep price. I said I wanted to rent a bike and he said there’s no option yet there was one a bit of a walk into town. he also asked for the payment in US dollars and when I was paying in Egyptian pounds, he just came up with a really high conversion rate. when I called him out on it he made something up. he seemed like he just wanted to squeeze money out of his guests. I had 2 nights booked but was so upset that I just stayed the 1 night and he didn’t really care.

Happy is doing everything in his might to make you feel at home. Visit with no expectations and enjoy the ride. It is perfectly located for a start base for The Valley of the kings.
Do yourself a favor and let Happy pick you up, either from the ferry or anywhere you wish

very nice place. clean rooms good breakfast with great and big walled garden it’s filled with sound of birds, really! also there is roof top with a good view of all around. this place is on the edge of the village and next to fields and close to the river only 100 meters. there are shops and local restaurants near and also they have food here very tasty Egyptian. mr happy who runs the place will surely make you as happy as he made me in my time here. happy holidays!

Could not fault this stay in any way. Right from the moment I landed at 6:30am, Mr Happy had organised a taxi for me, let me check in early, made me tea and breakfast, and had organised a tour for me for the day at a very reasonable price. He continued on meeting every request I had for the duration of my stay. He treats his guests like family and nothing is ever too much of an ask. I have travelled to a lot of hostels, but I have never met a host who was so willing to go above and beyond for his guests. The rooms were super comfortable, clean and quiet. I would 110% recommend this place to anyone visiting Luxor.

For the price, the value is great. A wonderful and friendly host, amazing free breakfast and other meals for a charge, a clean bathroom, and a quiet and relaxing environment. Don't come here if you want to be in the middle of the city but I was looking for a day to relax after a busy week so the more remote location was perfect for me and the host was able to help me book a balloon ride and help me arrange laundry. The value for the price was great!
Only issue would maybe be the remote location because in order to get to a restaurant or any sites it's about a 30 min walk or would require a taxi. It was fine for what I was looking for but just something to keep in mind. Oh and maybe provide soap in the shared bathroom. I had my own so it wasn't a big deal but would be one suggestion.

the silence when you need to get down after an intense stay on the east bank.
very friendly hosts. interesting to talk to and experience the egyptian hospitality. also a short trip to the village is worth it in order to relativate the rather pushy and annoying atmosphere of luxor downtown.

Mr. Happy and Achmed are super good, funny and lovely persons. Happy has a really big heart and will let you feel like a home. He was super available and helpful whatever needs we had and let us stay more than the days we have booked at the beginning. He also picked up us at the bus station for free and he let us have breakfast at any time. He spoiled us! He was a really great experience know him and stay at this place. The place is super peaceful and quite with a beautiful garden, confy and chilling space. It's like a little Oasis outside the noisy and frenetic life in Luxor.
They're also enlarging the space with two more floors and soon there will be some rooms with a wanderful view on the Nile on which you could see the sunset and sunrise as well (me and my friends saw it from the rooftop when it was still a working progress!)
He also can help you to book any tours at a competitive prices. If I'll come back to Luxor, I'll come back here for sure!
I really recommend to stay at this place if you want to saving money and you're an easy-going person!
And if you want bring some gift to these lovely persons a bottle of whiskey it will be super super appreciated! 😉

The location is absolutely perfect despite of being a bit far from the ferry. You can really chill and disconnect from the craziness of the city in this little oasis. Since you step in, Happy and Ahmed (the hosts) will do whatever needed to make you feel home (which we really appreciate after our last few days in Egypt)! Oh, in addition, breakfast is soooo nice and fulfilling and please, don’t miss the chance to have dinner there. Happy is really a nice chef -we shared cooking knowledge and I’m glad that now my rice will be way tastier! The hostel has like 4 rooms (shared and private) and is under construction since they are building an upper floor and a rooftop so more are about to come. As well as the garden is an amazing spot to relax and get to know the rest of the family-guests.
We already miss you!
WiFi it’s not working pretty well but you know, Egyptian style.

Mr Happy and Ahmed were very helpful and cordial. They keep checking if I needed anything. Even helped me out with currency exchange and laundry.
Great comfortable stay with clean rooms.

Located in a village on the West bank, away from the hubbub of the city on the East side. Mr. Happy is an excellent host. He and his staff always made sure I was comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. As a single female traveller, I also felt very safe here. The Egyptian breakfast was fresh, delicious and had different varieties everyday. Mr. Happy will also arrange any tour for a very competitive price. If I come back to Luxor, I would happily stay here again!

happy was really nice and was always worried about me being comfortable and good! the food was also great!(didn’t have the dinner though because it was a little expensive). he also picked me up and dropped off every time I wanted to do something! really helpful
the location is really bad, you are kind of in the middle of nowhere and so you always need happy to pick you up and drop you off to go to the temples and do the tours, but even to go to the city or if you want to go to the center of the West Bank! it was a bit annoying.

This place really feels like home. It's in a quiet part of the town, so I wasn't bothered by noise. Happy, the owner, is amazing and he helped me with so many different things! I am very grateful
Highly recommend

Wonderful stay, I felt at home. The place is quiet. Mr. Happy, Ahmed and Abu Omar were always nearby, they were alert to see if I was missing anything. Many thanks to all of you I highly recommend this place. Thank you.

Transport, breakfast. Dinner was also fine, but if we see the local circumstances, it was overprized (160/person) and after we agreed that we need a small amount, we got a huge dose of food. Of course I understand it, but why??
We arrived to the place, the owner has waited for us at the station. After arrival of the guesthouse, he immediately start to present the offers of daily trips. Maybe I am just too sensitive, but I always hate it, mainly if we have to bargain about the prize. We started 475 EGP/person, he offered 350 and stopped when I told that we don’t need it. After the launch he told me that he has “only 2 places for tomorrow” for 200/person. For me it is too much in the evening after you all day did the same.
There is no aircondition, but the room was acceptable, one of the best here in Egypt.
