It was a little dirty like someone hadn't stayed there in a while. There were some good spider webs going. The coffee maker was a little hard to figure out and it still had old coffee grounds and coffee in it. There was also a lot of expired condiments in the refrigerator. Other than that we really did enjoy the cabin.

Reviewer Comments:
We came to the cabin to unwind and destress. That is exactly how it went down. It was peaceful and quiet. The cabin was beautiful and clean and very well stocked with dishes and spices and everything we needed. Only thing we had to bring really was drinks and food. The week there was the decompression we needed from work and home. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality and time.

Our cabin was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. We didn't bother with the 'sites' this was just a relaxing get away for us. Very relaxing and comfortable

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The kids shared the upstairs area and really enjoyed it. My. husband and I slept down stairs. We managed well with one bathroom and we're able to cool things down for comfortable sleeping with the help of the mini-splits ( 1 upstairs and one downstairs). The cabin lighting was a little darker than the pictures showed but was ok. The cabin is in a good location to see the area and close to a grocery store as well.

We were surprised at how cute, clean, and comfortable the cabin was. And they thought things through to give the visitors a great experience.
It was just perfect. They are dog friendly. There was a nice dog bed with a little bear stuffed animal on it. Water and food bowls for the dogs.
The master bedroom upstairs has a window on the a frame so you can lay on bars and see the stars at night. Wake up to a beautiful sky and trees.
The bathroom is outdated but clean and the water pressure was nice.
It has AC!! Upstairs and downstairs which was so nice. And they had a bottle of Stevenot wine in the table for us. We don’t drink so we left it there but it was so nice. If you wanted to stay there for an extended time you really would have everything you need.
We brought our cooler for Lake Alpine but were thinking we would need to pick up a smaller one. They have a small cooler on top of the fridge you can use! It was clean and exactly what we needed for our trip.
The deck is really nice. We enjoyed sitting out there with our dogs enjoying the view and weather. We didn’t spend as much time as we would’ve liked because e we weren’t sure if we were going to like staying there. Also we had family at another house nearby and they have kids so it was easier for us to visit them. But we would’ve enjoyed spending more time at the cabin.
We definitely want to go back and stay here again
In addition the rental complaint is super nice and accommodating.

Had a great stay at Cinnamon Bear Cabin! Great location for hiking, golfing, biking..... all the activities we wanted. Easy to get to Murphy's for wine tasting, meals, and close to the Calaveras Big Trees. Neighborhood is quiet, house was clean, bed comfortable, kitchen equipped well and a nice outdoor porch to enjoy the mornings/evenings. Only downside was road construction, but this was just bad timing for us. Would definitely stay again!!

we really enjoyed our stay at Cinnamon Bear. lots of amenities, specially for infants (high chair and pack-n-go crib). We came at the end of winter, still some snow on the ground but not a problem.
Plenty of heaters and there is also a big iron stove in the middle of the property which is awesome (just wish the logs were a bit smaller for easier ignition).
No cell service but wifi is good and they have xfinity set top box, consoles, movies, and board games for entertainment.
the only thing to consider is that access to the property requires going up a pretty steep incline. I can see how this would be a problem if you don’t have an adequate vehicle or there is snow/ice.

We arrived just as it was getting very dark and 37 degrees. GPS made it easy for us to find the property as it is tucked away off the street on a cul-de-sac. This place has a ton of character right out of the 1970's with the wood paneling throughout, overhead lights with pull strings, and wood stove for your main source of heat.
Ownership and management intends for you to enjoy your time in their property as they've thought of everything. I found them super responsive during our first hour of trying to figure everything out. Getting heat was our first order of business as it was very cold when we arrived. We turned on every heater, then got the wood stove fired up. Soon, it was very comfortable just as we were told it would be. Our second night, we moved from the downstairs bedroom to the upstairs big bed to watch the starts through the skylight as we fell asleep.
The Big Trees grocery story is only four minutes away which was super convenient. They have everything you need there including many locally branded items. While we were up that way, we visited Murphys for two dinners, old town Columbia for coffee and some sweets, and Twain Harte for short time.
We just missed snow as we left on Monday and snow was due to arrive on Tuesday. We eventually found snow a short drive away. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Thank you for your hospitality!

My husband and I came up for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Such a cute little Iittle place, super cozy. Well stocked kitchen, had everything you could want. Neighborhood is really quiet, even though there are houses next you, still felt like we were alone. Can't wait to come back soon!

I really can't describe how awesome this place truly is! Is you're really looking for the "old rustic cabin that grandpa had" feeling, then this is the place you're looking for and you will feel it as soon as you walk in the front door. Myself and three friends stayed here for a weekend and had a blast. This place is right in the middle of everywhere you want to be up here.... It's about a 5-minute Drive to Big Trees Market (grocery store), as well as about a 5 or 10 minute drive to White Pines Lake which is a great place to go for a picnic/bbq or swimming (free admission, no parking fee, and free boat launch but no motorized boats allowed). If you want to take a little bit more of a drive, like Alpine is about 40 minutes up highway 4, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park and the North fork of the Stanislaus River are about 20 minutes up highway 4. Everything is easily accessible.
Another big plus is that this cabin is pet friendly! They have food and water bowls available, as well as an extra large oversized dog bed which my 145lb great dane loved, especially after our day hike at the Stanislaus River.
My only recommendation would be maybe a little bit better lighting in the hallway and kitchen area as it was a little bit too dark, but otherwise, this cabin was everything we wanted it to be and so much more! We will absolutely be coming back again and would definitely recommend it to others!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this property in Arnold. The house was spotless and equipped with everything we needed. We loved sitting on the verandah while taking in the peaceful surroundings. Even our dogs were chilled out! The location was perfect - close to swimming holes and also near the supermarket, restaurants, etc. We hope to come back soon.

no electricity
they had a plug in AC that was not the right size for the place, it blew the circuit 4 times and it was 80’ inside and was told it would cool off, we were literally in the place for an hour and a half and it was a hot box, inhabitable, will see if i get my money returned or we will deal with the credit card company, it also states no refunds for no electricity! you are freaking kidding me? how can you enjoy with no cold food and no lights

Wonderful cabin
Our family enjoyed the stay at " Cinnamon Bear " very much. This is a lovely, rustic cabin located in a very quiet neighborhood with so many great outdoor opportunities nearby.
We loved spending time on the fenced in deck, especially since we had a our dog with us who enjoyed the stay very much as well. He felt very welcome :)
