About this chalet rental
Tucked back on a 3 acre lot and located 50 minutes west of St. Louis, this rustic, modern chalet has been completely renovated in August of 2021 with new hardwood, updated fixtures and all new furnishings throughout. Located across the street from lake St. Gallen, it is a short drive or walk to the beach where we have 2 kayaks and 1 paddleboard available for our guests. We also provide noodles, life jackets, beach chairs, beach towels and beach toys! If a bigger lake is what you are after, we are 5 minutes from lake Aspen where you can rent pontoon boats, fishing boats, kayaks, paddleboards and lily pads.
The chalet is perfect for a family or friends getaway (sleeping a maximum of 6 people) with a king-master bedroom suite on the main level and a loft with 4 twin beds. We offer a full kitchen with essentials provided (Starbucks coffee, tea, salt/pepper, EVOO, dish & hand soap, and paper towels) two full size baths shower and shower/tub combo, a great room with an indoor wood-burning fireplace (firewood provided) and an expansive deck with seating areas for entertaining or relaxing. There is also a larger outdoor firepit and a BBQ grill (charcoal not provided). We have carefully curated a vinyl collection and some instruments for your enjoyment while visiting and there are several board games that our family loves in the chaise storage bench as well as bocce ball and washers for outdoor play and a basket of kids toys in the loft.
This chalet is intended to be either an escape from your busy work week or a unique, inspiring space to work remotely, with WIFI if needed. Netflix streaming is available (feel free to log into your account or use ours). Please note that service in the woods can be inconsistent and may slow at times.
The areas directly around the chalet are treated monthly for mosquitoes, spiders, insects and rodents. While we can’t guarantee a bug-free stay in the middle of the woods, we do our part to minimize these unwanted critters. Please note, there are rodent boxes placed strategically throughout and around the property. If you have small children, please move these out of reach during your stay and replace before you leave.
We will send a welcome message with all the codes and directions to make sure you are well prepared for your vacation and will be available to ensure your questions are answered quickly before and during your visit. There is also a book on property with maps of the lakes, hiking trails, restaurant hours and phone numbers, to make your stay enjoyable.
Check-in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. We do have early check-in options, but cannot guarantee early check-in until the day before your stay. In order to respect the neighbors, our property owners, and Innsbrook Resort's rental policies, we do not allow large events or gatherings at our chalets. We had a really great time in the Music Box Chalet at Innsbrook. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. They had the kitchen nicely supplied with everything you would need, including toaster oven, blender, Keurig, crock pot, etc. I would definitely recommend it to others

We spent 10 days at innsbrook. We picked here because it is close to st Charles and my kids with their kids could come at different times. The home was really nice. The main level was great for us to sit and visit with each other. The upstairs had plenty of beds. The outdoors was great for a night around the fire. Even thought it was not on the lake it was a three minute drive and the granddaughters loved it!!! Would definitely go back!!

The chalet was perfect for a quiet bday trip out of the city. The kitchen was stocked, it was clean, quiet and looked just like the pictures. Enjoyed a fire outside and being surrounded by nature! Cute little market/cafe right up the road for last minute items or Starbucks coffee and we also enjoyed several of the hiking trails. Highly recommend!

Kimm was pleasant and very easy to work with. Check in process was smooth and the property was as advertised. We have stayed a handful of times in Innsbrook. We have favorited this location to come back to over others! The property was great and was clean upon arrival. 5/5 and would go back!

The cabin was a wonderful weekend getaway for our family. We loved the record player and the classic Elton John and Billy Joel records. We also really enjoyed using the kayaks and playing at the little lake. The community pool was also really nice with the lazy river.

The Music Box Chalet was a wonderful stay for our group. It was exceptionally clean and well stocked. Loved the decor and the vinyl selection. The location is surrounded by caing trees but only a short walk or drive to the beach. Highly recommend.

Everything about the stay was super! The chalet was adorable and tidy, check in was a breeze and the lake access with kayaks and equipment were all a part of a relaxing weekend getaway. I would totally recommend staying here and taking advantage of all the Innsbrook community has to offer.

The Music Box was everything that we expected. A great place for relaxing and close enough to the golf course and clubhouse. The outside fire pit was well lite for evening use. The large deck area was perfect for sitting outside and enjoying nature!

Unfortunately, the property was not stocked as it was listed to be. We had no EVOO and ran out of paper supplies. The owner was nice and made the calls for is, but for the luxury rates we paid, it didn’t feel we got what we paid for.

This chalet was super clean and stocked really well. Perfect for a group of friends or a larger immediate family weekend getaway. The area was quiet and private. Two large bathrooms really helped, and the beds were comfy. Really beautiful chalet in a beautiful location. If it was warmer we would have taken advantage of the outside seating area with the beautiful lights strung. Host had great communication from the get go; everything was thought of and outlined for us so we had no questions. Thank you!

The Innsbrook property is an adorable clean A-frame that's decorated very nicely. Kimm was quick to respond to most of my questions. She also offered the option to check-out later than 11am since the property wasn't rented out - I really appreciated this flexibility.
However, we had a couple of hiccups. I enjoy having a cup of coffee in the morning, especially while on vacation, that said, I ended up driving to Wright City to buy a coffee maker, coffee filters, and coffee The coffee carafe that we were supposed to use didn't fit so we were unable to make any coffee. We also didn't have any coffee and only 1 coffee filter for our weekend stay. I emailed Kimm, but she never responded.
Also, one of light switches in the loft area didn't work which mades the upstairs loft area pretty dark and a bit unsafe. At first we thought the bulb was bad, but that wasn't the case.

Beautiful property. We stayed for a friend’s 60th birthday and visited wineries in the area. The house was perfect. Great fire pit, we saw deer and beautiful birds every day. Kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable, and great to have two bathrooms. Lovely deck as well. Kim answered all questions quickly. Thanks for sharing your home.

Relaxing stay. Quiet location. The chalet was well stocked. The lake was close by and we used the kayaks and paddle board. Great location for a girls weekend.

This cabin is absolutely beautiful. No detail was left out when they recently renovated it. We enjoyed a short 2.2 mile walk around the lake and enjoyed the beach along with the kayaks. At night we sat around a fire and we absolutely loved the string lights strung across the yard.

We loved the decor and amenities! We packed ready to heat theme nights and Kimm had a blender and all we needed at the ready. The beds were comfortable. We played games and enjoyed the deck. Would definitely be nice with a fire as well! I see us returning again! Thank you!

The house was clean, well decorated and fully stocked with kitchen appliances. The only improvement I would recommend is window coverings. All windows were fully exposed.

Lovely stay at the Music Box Chalet
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the Chalet. The furnishings are modern, cozy, and attractive, the property is well-maintained, and the location is great. We hiked several trails, visited an historic log cabin, played at the lake beach, and swam in the community pool all without leaving the Innsbrook area. We appreciated the full kitchen for meal prep, and had s'mores at the cabin's fire ring each night. Loved the music theme and turntable with classic records! Overall, a very positive and relaxing experience.

Weekend Getaway.
Beautiful and comfortable home. Had all we needed for cooking. Lots of firewood for the fire pit. Had a difficult time finding beach close to home. Other than that, no complaints. Concert and pool time was fantastic!

Everything I had stated a date later in July for my families stay and somehow from the time I booked the date it was then in June…. Something went wrong with the app at booking (yea it’s my fault I didn’t check my email… I have never used VRBO and never will again)….. we could NOT attend and the property manger would NOT work with us AT ALL! My entire family vacation was ruined and this manager did not care! Money has become the absolute only thing people care about…. We weren’t asking or even expecting a full refund but she stated we needed to talk to VRBO and when we did they stated it was up to the manager of the property to work with us and she absolutely REFUSED! A little compassion and give goes a LONG WAYS! I will NEVER recommend this property or even VRBO at this point! Such a horrible experience with zero care from anyone!!!! I hope the money was worth it!

Super cool hideaway!
The Music Box is a great little spot. Plenty of room for me and my husband and two girls. They loved the loft space. Awesome fire pit and indoor fireplace, so nice for the winter. Beds were very comfortable. House/kitchen is well stocked with everyday needs. Husband loves spinning vinyl so the record player was definite bonus. We even brought our own albums. Lovely place!!

Perfect winter break
The owners made the process easy from start to finish. The chalet was extremely comfortable and perfect for a winter get away. Owner has a great collection of records which were such a bonus to the trip! We were just there for an adults trip but we would have had plenty of space for our three kids as well. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and felt COVID safe. Just a heads up the bed room has beautiful views of the woods but there aren’t curtains. It was perfect for us but if you are a light sleeper or need total darkness in the morning you might want a sleep mask.

We had a great stay at The Music Box! This is a cozy little house with a rustic but updated feel. Very clean and well-stocked. Kitchen had all the dishes and cooking supplies we needed, so super easy to cook. We enjoyed the fire pit and the deck. The children loved the records!

Owner was very responsive. We did not have any problems but if we did I know it would have been resolved ASAP.

This perfect quick getaway helped us to get out and immerse ourselves in nature but also came with every detail we needed to stay connected for our short trip away. The kayaks and paddle boards were so closely located with easy access to the most beautiful calm lake perfect for fishing, swimming or boating.
As far as the vinyl selection, the small collection was very sufficient for a chill weekend in the woods. Van Morrison just sounds better in the woods.
The huge windows really open the whole space up to beautiful, giant trees which are especially great company on the deck with a morning cup of coffee. It’s neatly decorated and very clean. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be giving the Music Box a replay.

Gorgeous + cozy chalet!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Music Box! Everything has been beautifully remodeled & Kimm has thought of just about everything you'll need for your time away. She was fantastic to communicate with & always very responsive. There are only a couple minor things I'd recommend adding: a rug to wipe your feet inside at the door, a bath mat stepping out of the master bath shower, some kind of window coverings for the master suite & a full length mirror would be awesome! Again, these are only minor things but they would be nice to have in my opinion. We would definitely stay here again & I'd say we needed at least full three days to better maximize our time & be able to enjoy more of the amenities at the resort. My kiddos especially loved their loft sleeping area! The kayaks, paddle board, life jackets & beach chairs onsite were super appreciated! We did say it would be great to have a golf cart to zip around for our next visit like so many were doing. Thanks so much, Kimm!
