About this house rental
Bamboo House is a fully renovated mid century cottage in the heart of the village. It is set within a completely enclosed private tropical oasis comprising a main house with 2 bedrooms and a separate shared bathroom, and two separate guest cottages each with en suite bathrooms. Each of the four bedrooms are outfitted with queen beds, ample storage / closet space and double glazed sound proof sash windows with solar shades. Each of the bathrooms are bright and modern, and outfitted with Kohler fixtures. The kitchen is fully equipped with white quartz countertops, Kohler fixtures and Bosch appliances - plus various coffee making options including a Nespresso machine. This quaint village home has been tastefully decorated in a perfect blend of contemporary modern style and timeless island charm. Lush outdoor tropical gardens surround the cottages and include an outdoor shower and many opportunities for relaxing and al fresco dining. Bamboo House is located on the busy end of Dunmore Street close to the intersection with Clarence Street - which is home to the famous license plate wall. Bamboo House is also equipped with a 24 hour standby generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply during your vacation.
In off peak season, Bamboo House can be rented as just the main house (2 bedrooms), or the main house plus one guest cottage (3 bedrooms) or the main house plus two guest cottages (4 bedrooms). In peak season, the entire property (main house and both guest cottages = 4 bedrooms) must be rented. Please note below rates and do not hesitate to further inquire:

Bamboo House Harbour Island
From the moment we opened the beautiful wooden doors to our gate, we were welcomed into a private, tropical oasis. The courtyard greets you with lush plants, a plunge pool, and a beautiful table for to enjoy breakfast. Inside is equally beautiful as well as cozy and welcoming. The welcome gifts were personal and thoughtful and ensured the kids had a great time at the beach swimming in the ocean. The kitchen provided all that we needed to prep breakfasts and lunch. The beds were amazing and provided the perfect nights sleep after a day of playing in the ocean. And to make it extra special, Miss Olga and Mr Dolce were so warm and kind, with extra help with keeping the house beautiful, assistance with laundry, and letting us taste fresh coconut from the beautiful palm trees. Without a doubt, when we come back to Harbour Island, we’ll be coming back to Bamboo House.

We had a great stay at Bamboo House. It was perfect for 4 ladies celebrating a 50th birthday as each person had their own room! Communication was great and Olga and Dolce were wonderful. We all agreed that we would love to come back again!

Bamboo house was perfect for our family of four. Pascale was so accommodating to us before and during our trip. Olga was so beyond kind, replacing towels and cleaning each day. Clean beach towels was a must! We loved the location. It was quiet and secluded. The dip pool at the end of the day was refreshing. We look forward to staying at Bamboo House during our next trip to HI!

We absolutely loved Bamboo House! It was the perfect first introduction to Harbour Island. It's centrally located to anything you could want to see around the island yet somehow still feels tucked away!
The property grounds are beautiful and quiet. The walls surrounding keep out the outside noise, and make you feel safe and secure in an unfamiliar country! The plunge pool was the perfect way to cool off after coming in from the beach, and we spent so much time on the patio hanging out for dinners in.
The house itself is a home away from home with a comfortable living area and fully stocked kitchen! The beds are SO comfortable and Olga took great care of us for the entire trip to make sure we had fresh linens and made beds.
I couldn't reccomend Pascale, Olga, and Bamboo House more! We'll be back for hopefully many more family trips to our new favorite place :)

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bamboo House. The host (Pascale) was great to work with and provided excellent recommendations for us to help us plan our stay and was quick to reply to any questions throughout. The housekeeper (Olga) was invaluable in allowing us to disconnect as she came daily to refresh the house and even lended a hand with our laundry. Thanks to the onsite generator, even with a spotty island power grid the AC stayed cold, the showers hot, and the TV on to entertain the kids when the parents needed a break. While the entire island is always in motion, the high walls surrounding the property created a private sanctuary and the updated windows and doors kept the house quiet. I don’t hesitate to recommend the Bamboo House and look forward to coming back.

Charming, beautiful and impressive art, coutyard and gardens exquisite, plunge pool was lovely….very well appointed with kitchen utensils and dishes more than adequate. Lovely seating in courtyard for reading, socializing and enjoying beauty of the palms and tropical plants,

My family and I stayed at Bamboo House for a week in February 2024. The property was the perfect oasis for our family plus in-laws with plenty of space to spread out plus a great patio which includes a small plunge pool. In addition to the wonderful accommodations, Olga provided daily house cleaning which was such a treat! Pascale was also very timely in all her communication and answered all the questions we had leading up to our stay and while we were there. I would definitely recommend this property to any family or group! We will be back.

Such a lovely property. Beautifully decorated in such a comfortable style. We loved sitting in living room and talking. Beds were super soft (I loved mine!). Plunge pool was gorgeous. House is on a busier street across but we heard NO noise due to fence. If you know Harbour Island you know you don’t need a beach front rental with as easy as it is to hop on golf cart and get there. I’ll definitely rent Bamboo house again!

We had a delightful stay at The Bamboo House. The property is comfortable, beautifully decorated with plenty of space for everyone to find their spot! We enjoyed the outdoor area and foliage every morning and evening! The location is convenient to everything. Pascale was timely in all communication in planning the trip and readily available. Best of all, Olga and Dolce were absolutely wonderful…attentive and truly took the best care of us during our entire time on island. Would definitely recommend!

Our family (6 adults and one child) stayed at the Bamboo House in early December 2023. We’ve been to Harbor several times and have rented other homes as well. Overall we were comfortable in the Bamboo House which is well appointed and reflects the online photos.
Pros: property was clean, beds/linens were comfortable, the aesthetic is cute, and the generator and impact windows were very useful. Power outages are common on Harbor island and we did lose power while there but the generator kicked right on. The impact windows are crucial in this location, which helps tremendously with noise. The location while very central and close to beach is right across from the liquor store, pharmacy and bank (so very busy as the description accurately indicates) as well as next to a property where residents were loud — but the impact windows were great in blocking noise. House keeper came daily during our stay which was very appreciated.
Cons:
Biggest issue is that there is very minimal hot water. We travel to the Bahamas frequently and understand need to conserve resources and take quick showers as a result, but we could only get through 1.5 people’s showers in our group of 7 before running out of hot water which would take hours to replenish, making it challenging to get ready for group dinner after beach day. As mentioned, location is busy and loud — if you want quiet outside or to keep windows open (very nice this time of year), you’ll hear a lot.

This house was absolutely amazing! Pascale and Olga are two of the kindest, most easy people to work with that I’ve ever encountered through VRBO. The house was adorable, and we loved that it was completely walled in so our friends with kids could come over and we didn’t worry about them escaping!! Great lay out for a couples trip. Will 100% rent again!

Bamboo House is great for families traveling to Harbour Island. Communication with the host was great and Olga kept the house clean and tidy every day. Our only complaint is that the neighbors were very loud playing music and partying outside late into the night.

Cute, clean, plenty of room and space for family. Great location in town, but still quiet. You can easily walk to almost anywhere on the island. Minutes away from beach access. Would highly recommend this location!

We had the best time staying at the Bamboo House. Pascale was incredibly communicative throughout the process. Olga and Dolce on site were fantastic. The true sign of amazing hospitality was when our flight was canceled after a 7 hour delay and Pascale allowed us to come back and stay an extra night. Even Olga the housekeeper was at the house with a smile on her face freshening up the home after our terrible time at the airport. We would definitely recommend Bamboo House.

Bamboo house was wonderful- we’ve been to Harbour Island numerous times and it is one of our favorites! The set up works great for our family. Everyone has their own space/bathroom.
The decor is beautiful- and the house is so convenient to everything. We walked to The Landing, Valentines, Rock House and DaVine - all our favorite places!! We will definitely be back!

We arrived earlier than check in to Harbor Island and Olga was at the bamboo house doing the turnover she allowed us to put our luggage in one of the rooms that she had already finished until check in at 3. The house is in central location of the island and only a few blocks from Government doc this house is beautiful with great outdoor space. Can’t wait to get back and stay at the bamboo House. We had a great stay and would recommend this house to anyone. 🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸🇧🇸

Great house, well appointed, clean, comfortable, and bright. Really nice for a group because of the 2 separate guest cottages. Housekeeper Olga was very nice. The plus was all the greenery and plantings on the terrace, and the plunge pool! The negative was the street noise, but the gated wall surrounding the property was much appreciated! Location was very convenient!

Bamboo House is in a great location and easy to get to all the fun places on Briland. The house and cottages are very comfy and relaxing, even for our group of 7 adults. Will definitely stay here again for my next Briland trip.

Bamboo House was perfect! We had such an amazing girls trip for my birthday! Bamboo House is a great location. It’s close to town as well as the beach, so you can walk or drive your golf cart anywhere quickly. Although close to town, the villa is quiet and private. Even sitting in the courtyard of the villa feels secluded and peaceful.
Pascale was easy to communicate with and extremely helpful from beginning to end. He was quick to respond to all of our questions and gave us great recommendations for dinners, beach chairs, etc.
We can’t wait to get back to Bamboo House and Harbor Island! Such a special place!!!

The home feels like an oasis right in the heart of Harbour Island. It was more than enough room for our family of four with both our teenagers staying in their own private casitas. The furnishings and decor were tasteful and welcoming. Pascale responded quickly to all of our questions and very accommodating, even leaving thoughtful, individualized gifts for each of us. All around great experience.

Plenty of room for our party. Quiet, secure and very private even though located in the midst of downtown activity. Daily cleaning. Cute plunge pool. Cozy Areas for people to split up. Cottages allow privacy for couples. Tastefully decorated. All in all, a winner. Good job by the owner.
