The grounds were so overrun, that at first, we thought that we had the address of an abandoned place. The manager warned us that there was little WiFi in the general area, so we asked her to send us the door code of the cabin a few hours before we were to arrive. She did not do so, so we had to stop in a town, get WiFi and remind her, with less than one hour to go, that she hadn’t yet sent the code. This was nerve racking. The cabin has been up-dated but not by a carpenter. The sink is on fiber board with some kind of deteriorating coating & the door latches are ineffective. To use the sofa bed, you have to move living room furniture into the kitchen. The kitchen is well-stocked. Maybe if there were just 2 of us, it could have been ok?

Very quiet, very peaceful! Cabin is rustic (as advertised), but has a good kitchen, bedroom and living area. Don't expect TV, but the WiFi is great, so you could stream to a tablet. Very clean and comfortable for me & my dog (even a fenced yard for the dog. And the little streamlet by the porch was a wonderful accompaniment to morning coffee on the porch!

We want our money back. We were severely overcharged for this location. The owner has no idea of what customer service is. The towels and bedcovers are stained rags, the bathroom is dirty, the foldable couch doesn't work, and the entrance to the house is covered with snow and ice that any other place would shovel to allow easy access. We slipped a few times just bringing our luggage to the house. The heater is programmed to 64 degrees and can't be reprogrammed to a higher temperature, so the master bedroom is a freezer. It has a monitor and a few remote controls, but none work. There is only one roll of toilet paper for 3 days and 3 nights. We requested more toilet paper and batteries for the controls and were told to buy our own. When we said we didn't want to stay there the 3rd day, and the facilities were not as promised, the landlord didn't respond. We called Vrbo and after many phone calls, emails, and pictures, we were told we would not get a refund. We had to deal directly with the owner of the property, who refused to respond to our messages. We are fighting to get a refund for the 3rd day we didn't use. Any decent hospitality company would be concerned about customer satisfaction, but not Vrbo. This is the first and last time we use these services, and I strongly suggest you stay away as well.

We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. Cabin was warm and cozy even though it was cold outside. There were plenty of amenities, and we will be sure to stay here again when we drive through the area.
Very easy to get there even though the roads were snow covered.

Had a wonderful stay. Very cozy and quiet and perfect for our weekend gateway with the pup. We loved the updated interior and details as well. Would definitely recommend to others and look forward to a future visit.

Historic, rustic, quirky cabin okay. Modern gas stove with defective igniters and non-functional oven unacceptable. Ceiling track lighting has electrical shorts. This unit is a fire/explosion risk and should not be occupied until fixed. Gas stove issues were reported to management twice during stay. Neither call was answered nor message to return or call acknowledged. Both the owner and VRBO are accepting significant liability.

Cool cabin and appreciated the fenced yard for our dogs. Well equipped. Really only comfortable for two people. Slanty floor and worn out pull out couch was not comfortable. Beautiful, quiet spot.

We loved this little cabin. It had everything we needed and was exceptionally clean. We were surprised to learn that Burro Days were going on in Fairplay the weekend of our stay. We enjoyed our time in town and appreciated the beauty and peace out at the cabin. Perfect getaway for two!

Very nicely maintained cabin with a fairly tale brook running just out the front door. Quiet and serine. Beautiful views out the windows and private camp fire location.

The cabin is exactly as described. It was in the teens during our stay and we were perfectly warm even without the wood burning stove bc I’m a stupid city person who can’t successfully keep a fire going. The bed is COMFY! The space heater worked so well I turned it off in the middle of the night. I had no issues reaching the cabin in the snow. The host answered all my questions within a literal minute of me asking. I had an amazing trip and was so grateful for the time I got to spend in nature. Highly recommend.

Cabin is in a nice location close to Alma and Fairplay with easy access. Fenced area for the puppies was great. Cabins is old & shows it’s age with sloping floors. Bed was too soft for my liking. If you go, bring camping chairs if you hope to sit outside.

Perfect Quiet Little Cabin
We loved our stay here! It’s the perfect, cozy little cabin for two! The kitchen was amply stocked with dishes & cookware. The bed was sooooooo comfortable!!! This is the #1 thing for us! The WiFi is stronger than you’d expect. We were both able to work and take conf calls and even video calls without any effort. We brought a TV with us and we were able to stream Netflix, etc. without much issue at all.
There is a lovely fire pit with ample seating as well, we didn’t use it but it was nice.
Most of all, we will miss our daily visits from the sweetest golden retriever, Bentley, from across the street! Bentley was the best and made me miss my pup less!
We would definitely recommend and stay here again! Amazing service/response time from owner as well! Never had to wait if I had a question! Just a great week for us!

Best of both worlds.
It is honestly amazing that we were able to find a place as fantastic as this for our vacation! We had the best of both worlds, skiing in Breckenridge every day and escaping to this remarkable old cabin in a tiny town in the mountains each night. This is a great place to stay, we had everything we needed, were comfortable and happy and hope to come back again. Thank you

Snowy Stay at Cozy Cabin
Our stay in the Alma cabin was exactly the peaceful getaway my wife and I were hoping for.
We found the cabin to have loads of rustic cozy charm. A well placed wood burning stove kept us plenty warm during the snow storm that lasted our entire stay. The view out every window was watching flakes fly while warm in cabin comfort.
Reading books, relaxing, ski touring Hoosier pass and chilling were all easily accomplished.
Kitchen was well stocked, easy to use. Bedding was plenty decent for a cabin. Bathroom and large tub were much nicer than we expected to find in a cabin. We would gladly here again, worked out great for us and our dogs!
