I selfishly hesitate to describe the beauty of Don Pedro Island. I don’t want anyone else to discover its perfection! Tom’s property is luxurious and well-maintained, and comfortably sustained my family during tropical storm Debby. And, then there’s Tom. He was so accessible and responsive, instantly and kindly answering all my silly questions. Thank you, Tom, for sharing your lovely property!

We are so grateful to Tom for renting out his home so that we can get to experience this wonderful island! It is absolute paradise defined. The house is immaculate and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is more than you would ever need with incredible American size washing facilities which is always a helpful bonus. Tom was so helpful guiding my son with his passion for fishing and giving us helpful tips for island living! We would love to return in the future. Our evening bike rides along the little lanes are very missed already!
Small note: you can also rent the next door adjoining property also owned by Tom if you were a larger party or two families etc.

Feels like you are on a boat it is so close to the water. The island has nature everywhere you look. Dolphins, manatees in the water to tortoises, rabbits and iguanas on the land. Tom’s place is so nicely upgraded and decorated and comes with all the toys you could ask for. Five star hidden gem.

We’ve been coming to Don Pedro/Palm Island for over 10 years. We even got married at Palm Island Resort in 2015 so we know the area well and have stayed at numerous rental properties. We absolutely loved our stay in unit 5 at Colony Don Pedro. The upgraded unit was super clean and fresh. It’s hard to find such a nicely upgraded unit that allows dogs. There are so many great amenities offered - we loved using the paddle boards daily. The huge kitchen island is a nice touch as it allowed us enough space to host extended family for dinner a couple times during our stay. Tom is a great host and communicator. We didn’t have any issues during our stay but if we had, we knew he was just a text away. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

We loved the island so much. It was our first time here. Tom made is super easy. The condo was great! It had everything you could imagine! The VIEW breathtaking. We saw manatee, dolphins and even came up on some huge turtles at night while walking going to lay eggs. It was a dream of mine to see this and it happened. We will absolutely be back!! Thank you Tom & Barbara!!

This is a beautiful home right on the beach. If you haven’t been to Palm Island it’s quite an experience! Beautiful beaches and very clean water to swim. The island is only acceptable by ferry but this is what makes it such a great destination for families. Kids can be very independent and the beaches are not crowded at all.
As far as the house goes, it’s well stocked with most things you will need. I really enjoyed using the Blackstone grill and the kitchen has all the things you will need for meal prep. The beds are very comfortable and waking up to the gulf view from the master is spectacular! We had to make a few video calls for work (Ugg) and the wifi was up to the task.
A couple things to think about before coming. You will definitely want to plan out your groceries and meals. There is only one restaurant on the island so dining out is possible but challenging. There is a Publix and Walmart on the mainland and not far once you cross. I would also strongly recommend renting a golf cart to get around the island, it’s much more convenient.
Overall this was a great vacation and very cool place to stay. Highly recommended!

Paradise
I really don’t want to share how amazing DPI is because this hidden gem is my new favorite place and I want to keep it a secret. Tom was amazing as a property manager. The unit was above and beyond my expectations! The cabinets were stocked with everything and more than we needed. The linens were high quality and the beds slept great! The beach gear was awesome! And our dogs had a blast! We will be back again! Thanks Tom!

Spectacular Stay!
We came across this property by chance and we are so grateful we did. Tom was wonderful to work with and checked on us to see if we needed anything. The home is lovely. Being able to walk back and forth from the beach to the house is priceless. The home was fully stocked. Many items I typically bring with me were not needed. There were plenty of beach, kitchen, and bath towels. The air conditioner worked great (important when it is hot outside). The ice maker produced plenty of ice. The water pressure was strong. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms are udated very nicely. The washer and dryer are large in size. There are multiple seating areas. You can eat inside, on the screened porch, or on the bottom deck. The breeze and view from the bottom deck is spectacular; it is like being in a post card. We spent time hanging out and playing games on this deck. Looking from the kitchen toward the beach you felt like you were on a cruise ship; the water view is spectacular. Yes, you have to take the ferry to access the island, but this is part of the charm. Many times we felt we were by ourselves. This was a truly relaxing, family bonding vacation. We found many beautiful shells and a variety of sharks' teeth. The manatees and dolphins made numerous appearances. The water was very clear and and we felt like we were in the Caribbean. It was nice watching the numerous boats go by and the birds looking for a meal. Tom provided bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards which we enjoyed using. When the tide is low you can even ride bikes on the beach. We rented a golf cart and enjoyed evening rides looking at the different homes, landscape, and feeling the cool breeze. We even saw gopher tortoises a few times. We took rides to the Palm Island Resort to get breakfast sandwiches at the little store or dinner at the restaurant. We purchased a book of ferry passes (a bit cheaper than paying each time) and went into town a few times to check out some restaurants and get groceries. We never had long waits to get on or off the ferry. We were lucky enough to stay two weeks in this little slice of paradise. We hope to come back in the future. It really is a remarkable place! Thanks for everything Tom!

Paradise with all the toys
We have been vacationing on PI for 18 years and have stayed at various properties. This unit is by far our favorite!! Oceanfront, clean and the unit has all the toys (kayak, paddleboards, bikes and more) that will keep you entertained. Absolutely the best property and we will be back!

Don't tell anybody, let's keep it a secret
I wish I could lie and leave a bad review so I could keep it to myself, but that wouldn't be the truth. Plus it wouldn't be fair to Tom, the owner who looks like he has spent a great deal of time, money and effort renovating. Now, the island isn't for everyone. There is only one bar/restaurant (which is ok) and it costs $55 to take the ferry to the island. However, if you prefer less people, more time relaxing and doing nothing on your vacation then this might be the spot for you. We especially liked all the amenities that were offered with the rental including the kayaks and paddleboards (rare!). We also liked the proximity to the beach with the covered deck. We sat, drank, talked, and read books as if we were on the beach without having to lug all our stuff down there. If you prefer to bake in the sun, it's easy to go back and forth from the house to the beach. We also recommend that you rent a golf cart to explore the island and drive to the resort/restaurant. We'll definitely be back.

Perfect Beach Stay
Very nice condo with two bedrooms 2.5 Bath and 4 beds. Nicely upgraded upstairs including master suite with private deck with ocean side view. We truly enjoyed our stay as the condo provided beach chairs, two paddle boards, two kayaks, riff boards, really everything you need for a beach day. This condo is truly on the beach and exactly what we were looking for. You have to take a ferry ride with your vehicle to get to the island. They sell passes $60 per trip $45 for 5 trips or $380 for $10 trips. It only costs to get on the island, it doesn’t cost to get back. We had access to a family members boat so only used one trip on the ferry. If you plan ahead and grocery shop prior to going there really is no reason to leave the island. There is one restaurant and one little shop for quick items. Tom the property manager was extremely helpful and responds quick to messages. We truly loved our stay and look forward to coming back.

Beachfront
Our stay was great! Lots of toys to play with kayaks, bikes, paddle boards, floats, etc. It was so nice to walk the beach in either direction for miles. Very few people on the beach so it felt secluded and peaceful. Would definitely rent again.

No crowds, beautiful beach!
Everything from check in to check out was easy and enjoyable. The beach house had everything we could have wanted and more to enjoy our spring break. You have to know that you are on a private island with no commercial operations. You take a very short ferry to the island which runs continuously from like 6:30 am to 11:00 pm (or midnight sometimes). Stop and get your groceries before you ferry over and enjoy a beach with no crowds. We enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, tennis courts, biking reading enjoying the sunsets and cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. The owner, Tom, was a pleasure to work with and the island contact, Barbara, was quick to respond to any questions we had. Loved it and will be back to the island.

Accommodations are great and the place has everything you need for a great week on the beach. TVs were perfect for the NCAA games at night, fishing kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards, and beach chairs all included. Highly recommend.
