Newly constructed in 2021, Pacific Northwest waterfront home with low bank access to Mitchell Bay. Deep water mooring bouy , depending on tides, 8 to 18 feet depth, available for guest use. (3) Kayaks on property for guests to use on a newly built dock making easy access to launch. Two Singles and one tandem kayaks.
Savor the views of Mitchell Bay from the wall-to-wall windows in each of the home's living areas. An extensive deck runs across the waterside of the home offering many hours of outdoor enjoyment. One of the nicest features on the deck is a built-in propane gas lava rock firepit, setting the ambiance morning, noon or night. Propane BBQ and ample seating for outdoor dinners. Outdoor propane fire center piece.
Moving inside there is a large game room with expansive windows and textured & colored concrete flooring. Play a game of Ping Pong by the rock wall & wood burning fireplace, wood provided. This home sleeps 6 with the comfortable queen-sized murphy bed available in the game room. A nice place to sleep accompanied by a wood burning fire. Big Screen TV for the best game time enjoyment.
The kitchen is well equipped with the latest technology appliances. Gas oven & stove, center island for easy meal preparation and separate sitting bar for bistro seating. The dining area is next in the flow of this great house and "great room" with a dining table seating 6. Living area has a great large couch to sit back and enjoy the large 60" TV with Amazon Fire stick. Music available via Alexa with Echo Dot speakers. Propane Fireplace to set the stage.
Master bedroom is king sized bed and - bath in suite. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed. Full Bath is off the "Great Room".
3rd full bathroom is situated in the adjacent garage apartment.
Pets allowed $25.00/day fee. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Any damage will be taken from security deposit.

Very quiet and relaxing. Well furnished kitchen. Comfortable furnishings. The second full bath is in a garage structure separate from the house. We did not use it and I don’t see most people wanting to use it unless you have a big group.

Overall, we had a great time at this Vrbo. However, there are a few things to note that weren't clear to us until after we booked: 1) The property manager requests direct payment (instead of payment through Vrbo). I hadn't encountered this on Vrbo before, so at first I thought it was a scam. It caused a bit of a headache because I had to first contact Vrbo to verify. 2) The property does have 2.5 baths, but one of them is in the garage that is not connected to the main house. We didn't realize until we arrived that you have to go outside to access it. It was a bit inconvenient to use and smells like gasoline. 3) There are 3 beds, but one of them is not located in a proper bedroom. In the description it does say it is a Murphy bed in the game room, but it wasn't clear that the room has large windows that do not have blinds, so it gets quite bright in the morning. We had an issue with unwashed/dirty bedding in the primary bedroom but the property manager was quick to respond and provided satisfactory service recovery. Things we loved about the property: - Kitchen is well stocked with dishware, cookware, and spices; there's even a blender and food processor - The 3 kayaks (2 singles, 1 tandem) made it easy to get out on the water and enjoy the area - Spacious dining/living room area for the group to hang out in - Property manager was quick to respond when we had questions

Access to the water was easy. Kayak’s were great fun to use. Brought our own life jackets, but some were in the shed. Well stocked house. Was a little concerned as the house was right next door to Snug Harbor resort but it was not a problem at all. Area very quiet

The house was good for all our family needs. Good location on the island. Kayaks were nice. Just like previous reviews the 2nd full bathroom is in the garage that is not attached, and yes an eye mask to keep the light out of your eyes for whoever is in the Murphy bed.

This house suited our family of 5 very well. We enjoyed the somewhat remote location (remote being a stretch seeing that it was a 15 minute drive pretty much anywhere on the island!) It was a treat to be located directly adjacent to the Snug Harbor resort where we could snag an espresso in the morning or go out on their pier to see the sunsets. I wish getting to the water was easier on the property; the addition of a pier will be a game changer! Our kids did use the kayaks one day and we booked an excursion that launched from the Snug Harbor marina another day. The house is very comfortable. The primary bedroom has an attached half bath and the full bath is directly outside of both bedrooms. Sharing was a not a big deal for us. One of our boys slept on the murphy bed in the game room – we bought an eye mask because the sunlight is pretty fierce at 6 am! Definitely plan on bringing one! Above all else, the boys were OBSESSED with the ping pong table and mom and dad enjoyed the firepit on the deck morning and night. SJI was a 10/10! We would come again.

My only complaint is that it was not clear in the description that the 2nd full bath is actually not located in the main house, that the garage is a separate building and not attached to the house. Otherwise it was a beautiful place, fully stocked with everything one could want or need and we loved the ping pong table! We had an issue with the ice maker and the owner came by with some crab legs and a bag of ice for us as an apology!

We were on the islands for the first time to attend three evening wedding events. Staying at this home allowed all of us to explore or relax in between. We all did a bit of each. Night gatherings on the deck with all of the lights off allowed us to see shooting stars, the Milky Way, and create lovely memories. From start to finish, communication was excellent, had a chance to say hi to the owners and we would so definitely stay here again is we had opportunity to be here again.

Perfect house on the water to experience the beauty of SJI. Has everything our family could’ve wanted. The location is beautiful, the access to the bay and the kayaks available to use were the icing on the cake. Magnificent windows throughout the whole house to enjoy the view. This house has everything and more. Very well designed and decorated space. Lots of amenities, state of the appliances(including a gigantic TV) and nicely maintained yard. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the deck and the yard much because of the weather, but they are very nice. The host is very responsive and extremely gracious to requests. We highly recommend the place and would love to come back and stay here again.

I was hesitant to book a home with no ratings yet, but there weren't many options available on short notice. I am so glad I did! This house was perfect: exceptionally clean, comfortable, and stocked with every possible thing we could need. We really appreciated the attention to detail, including having the Murphy bed made up in advance for my son. The house is the perfect size for a parent or two plus a couple of kids. My teens loved the ping pong table and lounging on the huge sofa. The kitchen is a dream. Location was quiet and beautiful. You will need a car if you plan to go back and forth to Friday Harbor - 8 miles one way is a bit too far for most people to walk/bike to the grocery store or restaurants on a daily basis. Communication with the host was exceptional. Thank you so much! We will be back!

Beautiful, quiet, and relaxing getaway

This home is beautiful, tucked away in a lush forest, right on the waterfront, and a perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We spent five nights enjoying the peace and quiet. Easy to get to and from Friday Harbor (around 15 minutes by car), and all the surrounding sights. The home is well appointed, and had everything we needed to maximize our stay. Definitely best suited to groups of four or less, but with four adults we weren’t struggling with anything - just have to coordinate showering. All in all, this is a fantastic spot to unwind and just enjoy what San Juan Island and Friday Harbor have to offer.
