Had a great time around the fire pit (and hot tub) with old friends and family every night. Several couples, two teenage children, and two dogs (10+2🐶). Plenty of space, had 3 extra unused bunks even. 2 full bathrooms VERY helpful as well. Thoroughly and thoughtfully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Every time we looked for something we needed, there it was! Highly recommend. The only thing I questioned was that it’s a good 30 minute drive to the more populated North Conway attractions, but I found that on those days the ride home to your quiet private cabin was actually very nice.

The cabin was beautiful inside and out. Jessica and Kevin were great hosts and always readily available if needed. We will definitely be renting this cabin again in the future.

It was a wonderful relaxing much needed time spent with my adult children. Away from all the hustle and bustle of work and it was great to be off the grid, no phones (although service was excellent) no tv (which was provided) just quality time with my grown children. We played board games and cooked great meals. jess and Kevin’s home was warm and cozy and decorated like something out of a magazine. Their kitchen was fully stocked and so was the wood supply which we appreciated because it was damp with all the rain and the fire took the chill and dampness out of the air. The cabin is located near everything including great restaurants and grocers. Jess left us a booklet filled with everything you needed to know which was so helpful. After a day of hiking we all enjoyed the Hot tub. We were very grateful we could bring our dogs , they are very well behaved because they travel with us everywhere. All in all, I cannot say enough about the Cabin, the hosts, and the the location. We have been vacationing to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine for over 30 years and this place rates in the top 5. Thank you Jess and Kevin for the memories

Black Dog Cabin is a very special place in a beautiful setting. Plenty of room for our three generation family. Comfortable bedrooms and spacious living spaces. Fabulous dining room table for family dinners. Great fire pit for mandatory s’mores. Jess is gracious and on point with communication and very accommodating. A surprise gift basket that was fit for both two and four legged friends! 🐾🐾

We recently had the pleasure of spending a week at this delightful VRBO rental in Brownfield, Maine, and the experience left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charming ambiance, thoughtful amenities, and stunning surroundings that this rental had to offer.
Accommodation: The rental itself was cozy yet spacious enough to accommodate a group of 12 comfortably. The interior was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, as the space was immaculate upon arrival.
Amenities: The amenities provided were nothing short of exceptional. The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances, making meal preparation a breeze. Additionally, the availability of a washer and dryer proved to be incredibly convenient for a week-long stay. The entertainment options were also impressive, with a range of activities such as board games, a collection of movies, and a smart TV.
Location: The rental's location was truly a highlight. Nestled in the picturesque town of Brownfield, it provided a perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility. The surrounding natural beauty was simply breathtaking, with opportunities for hiking, exploring nearby lakes, and enjoying the serene countryside. Furthermore, the proximity to local attractions and charming eateries ensured that there was never a dull moment.
I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable getaway in a charming setting.

We just returned from spending a week at the cabin. For some in our party, it was our second visit to the cabin because we loved it so much. It is very inviting and relaxing. There is a lot to do at the cabin and the surrounding area. We enjoyed walking and hiking in the area, kayaking and tubing, visiting the local eateries, and venturing to places in the state. The game room, spa, and fire pit at the cabin were the kids’ favorites. Jess and Kevin are the best hosts and responded quickly to our questions. We hope to return again soon!

Cozy log cabin in a rural area which serves as a great jumping-off point for attractions in Maine and New Hampshire. The cabin is spacious and well equipped to keep both kids and adults entertained.

The place was great! It was a good place to get away but also to travel to more populated areas. Everyone loved it. The description stated there were only 2 A/C units but when we arrived all of the upstairs bedrooms had a window unit along with the living room on the main level. This was a treat because it was quite hot and humid during our stay. They provided a book on what to see, eat, shop, etc which was quite helpful. The providers checked in with us every so often which was quite nice. We also had a flat tire and they even helped with that. Their caretaker came over and fixed it (unexpected treat).

We love staying here, it is close to lots of fun activities and the property is perfect for our extended family. The mosquitoes were intense for some reason this year so we stayed inside when we were at the property but there was plenty of space for all of us and our pets!

We just returned from a fun weekend getaway here! The cabin is gorgeous - beautifully decorated and well appointed with everything you could need. The cabin easily accommodated our large family group. We enjoyed all the amenities (hot tub, air hockey, foosball). It was an easy drive to two nearby mountains for skiing and tubing. The hosts provided so much helpful information and a lovely gift basket. We had a wonderful time and hope to stay here again!

Our ski weekend group of 11 people stayed here for a long weekend. The owners were very friendly and easy to communicate with. They provided everything we would need and gave us access to plenty of firewood. The cabin was clean and well appointed. It had a great cozy cabin feel. The hot tub right off the deck was a blast to use. Our group of 11 did feel a bit tight when everyone was eating/cooking, but other than that it was a perfect cabin getaway!

We really enjoyed our time last weekend at this amazing home! Our family loved the cozy woodstove and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a day of playing in the snow. Jess and Kevin were such gracious hosts and went above and beyond with their communication and attention to detail. We would highly recommend a trip to their log cabin and hope to stay there again ourselves!

Our family loved staying in the Black Dog Cabin. The log home is beautiful and so cozy. After a day of skiing we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, sitting by the wood stove in the living room and playing pool in the basement. With 5 tastefully furnished bedrooms, a large living room and an upstairs TV area there was plenary of room for everyone. The property is private yet very accessible. Jessica and Kevin were very responsive before and during our stay, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful Welcome Basket. The Black Dog Cabin is one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed in and are very grateful that we were able to rent it. We hope to return.

One of my very favorite vacation rentals... Our pre-Christmas weekend stay at the Black Dog Cabin was a charming, cozy, comfortable stay in an actual holiday card.
The cabin is homey and comfortable, with so many little details that contributed to an amazing weekend. Communication with Jessica was easy and responsive and check-in so easy. We were fortunate enough to arrive on the first significant snow fall of the season (there is no better place to be snowed in..) and with no one checking-out that day, were allowed to check-in a bit early to avoid driving in the worst of the weather. It snowed so hard, we lost power (for a few seconds) with the generator kicking in immediately and everything working flawlessly (including the hot tub!!) It was pretty magical to enjoy the hot tub in the driving snow while sipping a glass of wine. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the living areas are inviting and comfortable with cozy furniture and and soft warm throws. You cannot help but unwind and relax!
Our family had an outstanding weekend, in no small part to the Black Dog cabin. I cannot recommend any higher.

A bit of a spur of the moment plan to get our group of 10-12 High School friends together for a weekend. This Cabin was perfect. We mainly wanted to hang around the fire, tell old stories, eat good food, and laugh. We did all that in spades, and even worked in a Kayak trip on the Saco. Great property that I would highly recommend.

We enjoyed Cabin. It was this very clean, spacious, peaceful, well stocked home. We enjoyed swimming and playing with little ones on Saco. We found parking at State park in front of Woodland Acres Campground great place for our family to cool off and play in water. (Little ones under 5 loved shallow area). Owners very easy to communicate with. Lovely home.

The rental process was easy from start to finish. The owner was quick to respond to questions, both before our stay and during it. She also provided us with a lot of information about things to do in the area. Everyone in our group-ages 11-50s loved the cabin and enjoyed the area. The cabin was super clean and well stocked with bed linens, towels, paper products, soaps, etc. It made
things easier for our three families because we were able to pack lighter than we have for
other vacations. We enjoyed our trips from Portland to North Conway and a few things in between. We also easily kept ourselves
entertained around the cabin with the game room, fire pit, and hot tub. Tubing on the river nearby was also lots of fun-we loved being able to go on our own. Our only regret is we did not book 2 weeks!

Can't Wait to Return!
We're so lucky to have found this gem on VRBO! My husband and adult children (along with our black dog, Charlie) stayed here for the Fourth of July weekend, as we had a family wedding in nearby Fryeburg. The hosts were easily accessible and super helpful, so check-in and check-out were seamless. This is a BIG cabin that fit our whole family very comfortably. Everything was immaculate and it's the most well-stocked vacation rental we've every stayed in....everything we could possibly need was there. We had morning coffee on the front porch, played whiffle ball and pickle ball in the back yard, had a lot of laughs around the fire pit, and relaxed in the hot tub at the end of the day. When we were inside, we made use of the books, games, and karaoke machine, and our son and his friends loved the basement space with pool table and air hockey. The nearby access to the Saco River was a quick trip down the road, and the water was clean and clear... perfect for cooling off. We're already looking forward to staying again in the fall or winter months!

Beautiful Log Cabin designed for fun and relaxation!!
This is a beautiful home with tons of amenities for all guests to enjoy. A welcome basket greeted us with treats for children and adults including the fixings for yummy smores, and wine for the adults that are aching for a hot top! The rooms are both functional and adorable! Not to mention the upstairs keeps going and going with room for 11 people to sleep comfortably and a sitting room with games and videos. The kitchen is equipped with all the appliances for big and little needs including much-needed coffee in the morning (plus sugar, spice, and everything nice). Jessica and Kevin were wonderful and accommodating hosts that addressed all our questions ahead of our stay. The location is not far from restaurants and shopping with a country store only miles away. I highly recommend this house for your next family gathering or friends and family retreat! Loved it!! <3

Great weekend and a great location
We had 4 generations stay and had a wonderful weekend. From playing ball outside to quiet reading nooks. We went shopping at N Conway and swam and tubed down the Saco. BBQ'd outside, played pool in the basement, watched movies and went exploring. Great location and hosts. They had everything we needed. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

Family Relaxation
Had the pleasure of staying in this modern and very cozy log cabin away from everyday life. I invited my adult children, along with their significant others to join my wife and I for a stress free, "nothing we need to do" few days. The cabin was the perfect spot and worked out well for our needs. We enjoyed some of the games in the basement along with the hot tub. So much fun for all of us!! Everything we could have possibly needed was available at the cabin, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We will definately be back again when we need a getaway....except for a longer time. Thank you!!

Favorite Rental
I rarely write reviews but this house is stellar! The owner is generous, attentive, and accommodating. The place is gorgeous and is better in person than in pictures. It is incredibly cozy and spacious for groups. The basement is key for families with kids. Bedrooms are cozy and upstairs is very accommodating. The place is very well stocked WITH place for food storage (for those who dislike keeping food items in counters). We loved the hot tub. This house is conveniently located within several ski mountains, which was key for us…as the place we were anticipating to go to (Black Mountain) did not have the best conditions. We ended up at Shawnee Peak (which I would highly recommend). The day prior we went ice skating in Conway. I really cannot say enough about this place….other than I cannot wait to go back…which as a frequent flyer of home rentals…is a big deal.

Fantastic family vacation home
We had a wonderful week at the black dog cabin in Brownfield Maine. Loved being able to bring the dog on vacation. The hot tub was amazing. So many fun things for the kids from board games to air hockey, pool, and a fire. The owner Jessica was great so responsive to questions. We were about 30 minutes from North Conway easy drive to ski, snow tube and shop. We got an amazing welcome basket with a handwritten note from the owners and dog treats too. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Cozy cabin
We can't wait to come back! Jessica was an amazing host. She allowed us to check in earlier and check out later due to a snow storm. The cabin has everything you needed for a comfortable stay! We enjoyed the hot tub in the snow storm after a long day of snowmobiling!

Incredible Stay at Black Dog Cabin!
We had such an amazing time at black dog cabin! It could not have been a more perfect place to stay. The cabin was beautifully decorated and Kevin and Jessica even went the extra mile to decorate it for Christmas for us. It was so spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the amenities you would need to cook family meals. The cabin is in an excellent location with a lot of things to do nearby. We went dog sledding about an hour away in Oxford, ME and ATV riding in Gorham, NH. We spent all of Christmas day in the cabin and it was truly magical. The basement had so many fun activities for both adults and kids! We sang karaoke, played pool, foosball and air hockey. We even jumped in the hot tub on Christmas day as it was snowing (what an awesome experience!!) Jessica was extremely attentive and would quickly answer all of my questions through the app. She was extremely accommodating and hospitable to us. Overall, my family was completely enchanted by this cabin and did not want to leave on our last day. We cannot wait to visit the black dog cabin again! Thank you so much Jessica and Kevin for your hospitality and for giving us an incredible place to spend Christmas as a family!
