About this house rental
The Lakeside Hideaway is the perfect vacation home for families and friends! This renovated home is very spacious with two separate kitchens and dens plus a huge sunroom and a Gameroom complete with a pool table, poker/game table, and super comfortable seating throughout the house. There are 3 bedrooms on the main level. The main bedroom has a king size bed, walk in closet, and spacious bathroom with a stand alone shower and a tub. There are two other bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with 2 twin beds and a trundle that will sleep 3 people. These bedrooms share a convenient full bathroom with a tub shower combo. On the main level you will also find a dining room that seats 6 and a study with a desk should you need to bring your work with you. There is a den and eat-in kitchen that is fully stocked with all you would need to create meals with your family. The Den opens up to the breathtaking sunroom. Surrounded by windows that do open up with screens so you can enjoy this room year round. Off the sunroom is a wonderful partially covered porch that is a great place for your morning coffee or breakfast. On the basement level you will find a large covered patio with a grill and plenty of seating and fantastic views of the lake. Once inside there is a cozy den that does have a sleeper sofa should you need the extra space and another fully stocked kitchen. There is a queen bedroom and full bath as well. Along with a ping pong table in a room adjoining the kitchen. The property is very spacious and sits on over an acre and is fenced in with a gate that can be closed for complete privacy. There is a large grassy area before you reach the dock. There is a paved walkway all the way to the dock and at the dock there are cleats to tie your boat up, should you have one. There is seating at the dock to relax and also steps to walk in the water and have your own private swimming retreat. We have also just added a firepit down by the lake to enjoy the cool nights during the fall and winter seasons.
This Rental is for the entire house.
Doug Ln is a private gravel road located right off of the Waterfront Marina. There are only 8 houses located on this road so it is very quiet. The area surrounding contains a small neighborhood along with many rural areas but it is conveniently located 15 minutes from shops and dining.
There is an electronic lockbox that is used for both main doors. You will be assigned a code, which will be the last 4 digits of your phone number, upon arrival and will expire on the day you check out.
There is a fairly long driveway with a circular wrap around at the main doorway. There is ample parking for your guests. There is a garage at the top of the driveway that is kept locked and not for use at the moment. The driveway continues around to the back yard but has a steep slope so it might be best to use that as a walking path only.
Should you need transportation from the Atlanta Airport there are several transportation companies that do daily trips to the area.
Please note that the two levels are not connected on the interior. There is a convenient exterior staircase that is right off the sunroom that connects the upstairs and downstairs. We do have plans to add an elevator to the interior at a later date. We do have security cameras on the exterior of the property that only detect motion. They do not view any interior space or exterior living space, just the driveway and main exterior doors.

Wow! Awesome house. Awesome location! I would highly recommend this house for a large gathering. Our three day weekend consisted of seven college buddies in our late 50s. So a tough group to please… but everyone loved it! The pool room with poker table was a hit! The dock was awesome in the evenings and we were able to tie up our rental boat … while we briefly restocked our cooler. Very convenient pontoon rental facility is literally three minutes around the cove at Sun Life Marina (and they were superb as well)! Just an overall great experience over three days. Thank you for providing us a terrific weekend enjoying your house. Kevin

Had a family gathering with several family members that rented a place just a few doors down. Very convenient, close to good restaurants, and beautiful setting. Enjoyed spending time on the lake. Adult son was happy to have his own space downstairs while younger children could be closer to us. Would definitely stay there again!

This lake house is amazing! Plenty of room to spread out or congregate together! The house has comfy beds, clean bathrooms, and a well stocked kitchen for the cooks! There is a gorgeous sun room overlooking the lake with an amazing view. We look forward to coming again!

We enjoyed a relaxing time at the lake house. We enjoyed hanging out playing pool and ping pong, playing games by the fire, hiking at Rock Hawk, visiting Madison and bringing in the New Year sitting by the firepit. The house is clean and very comfortable and sits in a very nice quiet neighborhood. We loved this home and hope to be back.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! Not only was communication great with Casey start to finish, but her home was fantastic. It was clean, well-stocked, great location, and plenty of space for our family to spread out. My brother and his family were in town from overseas so they took over the basement; and my family + my mom took over the main floor. We enjoyed eating dinner outside every night, roasting s'mores in the firepit, playing games in the massive yard, swimming off the dock and being within 10 minutes drive to some delicious restaurants (highly recommend Lake House Gastropub and Lake Oconee Bistro!).
We 10/10 recommend Casey and staying at The Lakeside Hideaway, and we hope to come back someday!

Wonderful retreat
The house and grounds are wonderful with many amenities that made our stay perfect! The sun porch, deck, front porch and game room were favorite hangouts when we weren't on the water. We would love to return for future vacations. Casey is a wonderful host and promptly answered questions.

Our families chose this home due to the spaciousness, the location, and the beautiful lot/yard. With gardenias blooming by the front porch swing, magnolias blooming on the back patio, beautiful gently sloping yard down to a very nice dock with plenty of seating and an unbelievable view--there was nothing about it we would change. Three generations, from 60 year olds to1 year olds all had a place to enjoy and things to do. The littles really enjoyed the beautiful sunroom--they could play and see everything from a safe advantage. The man-cave room with a beautiful pool table as well as card table-- and the downstairs ping pong table were popular with the 30 year olds--as was the fire pit for an evening hang out with a lake view. Lots of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy a moment and a cup of coffee! Lots of seating capacity for eating. Two kitchens and 2 refrigerators really helped with our party of 9. Abundant parking was also great--no problem maneuvering our boat trailer either. This home has a split bedroom plan-- 2 bedrooms with a bath and a pocket door to close that whole suite off--this was great for one of our families privacy. Another family stayed downstairs-- one bedroom and bath with plenty of room for pack and plays for littles. The master suite was gracious which the seniors of the trip really enjoyed.
The host was very helpful and friendly. Everything was as stated and more. This is where you want to spend your time at Oconee.

Beautiful View
The home was in a perfect location with a beautiful lake view. Plenty of room to spread out, play yard games, and relax on the many porches and dock. We enjoyed our evenings in the game room. Kitchen provided all the necessary items for cooking. Only obstacle was not having inside access to the fourth bedroom on ground floor/basement. Thank you for being a great host.
