About this cottage rental
Traditional 3 bed terraced cottage in picturesque Holmfirth, with amazing views over Brownhill Reservoir all year round. Perfect setting for a romantic break, or peaceful getaway with family or friends. Ideal for walking and cycling to explore the local countryside. Walking distance to local pubs with incredible food. Unique location and convenient for access to Holmfirth with its array of amenities.
The cottage is furnished to a high standard and is equipped with all you could need for your stay including high speed internet connection, well equipped kitchen with large modern cooker, private garden with bbq and secure storage for bicycles. Sleeps/houses 5 adults/4 adults & 2 kids. 1 king, 1 double & 1 twin bedroom.
Travel cot, high chair and bumbo for babies and monitor for home working also available on request. Please let us know of any special occasions or requests, which can be offered at an additional charge.
The cottage has parking directly in front of the door for ease of access.
The cottage is sanitised after every stay to safeguard against the spread of COVID-19.

Cottage in th absolute best location for views, walks and relaxing. Everything as described and everything you need to hand. The Fleece up the hill 20 mins walk, 5 mins on the bus that stops outside the cottage does really good food and plenty of it, best news, 10 mins downhill walk home

Cosy, well-equipped cottage in a stunning location. Lovely views of the reservoir from all the windows at the front of the property. It feels remote yet is only a few minutes from town so offers the best of both worlds. The host, Marie, was easy to get hold of and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved the location and felt very much at home in a comfortable home. Particularly liked the armchair in the window overlooking the reservoir.
We were walking 7 “Ethels” in the Dark Peak and all were easily accessible from Martha’s Cottage so ideal for our purposes.
Pie Night at the Pickled Pheasant was also a nice discovery!

Overall very happy with the location aswell as the communication from them property owner, really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be returning.
Had everything we needed inside the cottage, local walks from the front door everything was fantastic.

Very well equipped and tastefully decorated cottage with amazing views over the reservoir and Holme valley. Local walks and places to eat are convenient. Only one thing wasn’t quite perfect. The key safe is near the ground and hard to access for those of us who aren’t as mobile as we used to be. Otherwise a wonderful place to stay.

We were a group of friends wanting to walk in the Peak District - what a great location, right by a reservoir! Holmbridge is just down the road. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything you need. Would recommend and stay there again.

If it wasn't for my boys love of Last of the Summer Wine we wouldn't be coming to Holmfirth. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed.. could ne a little closer to the town but the walks were great and the Fleece Inn was delicious.

Close to the amenities. Pickled Pheasant is a lovely pub with great staff.
The local walks are amazing but tricky with a bike!
Free parking at Huddersfield FC and at the metadrome in Barnsley.
Cannon Hall Farm was awesome.

Fabulous rural location overlooking the water. A great base for our 2 week family holiday. Walks around the reservoir are lovely and local pubs offer great food and i would highly recommend the Fleece.
One of the rooms is described as a twin but both of the 1st floor rooms seem to be single.
There are a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the house eg games, books, kitchen implements. It has all amenities required.
Unfortunately it wasn't as clean as we'd have liked.
The attic room is very cute and has great views, but not very practical with not being able to stand up straight due to the low ceiling. We both banged our heads a few times.
We encountered a few issues including the shower stall not draining at first so we couldn't use it till the handyman to came to unblock it. There was an issue with a bedroom light that continually flickered. The front door handle broke so couldn't be opened from outside. We were able to use the back door instead.
I do need to add, the owner was easy to contact and very responsive to get things fixed, which was great, and very much appreciated. She also offered us a partial refund because of the issues.

Property was in an amazingly location, overlooking the reservoir. Perfect base, visited cannon hall farm and the carding shed. And of course Holmfirth. Perfect few days.

Martha's Cottage is beautiful, in a peaceful location with lovely views over the reservoir. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need plus little extras. We wish we could have stayed longer. Loved it that much we've booked again for next year.

Lovely little cottage overlooking reservoir. Very spacious . Only problem we had was getting TV to work . Owners live in Dubai but we’re easy to contact and explained there should be two remotes . We found second one down side of settee so all fine after that but perhaps cleaner should be more on the ball !!

We were looking for a few days away from it all and this cottage was in the perfect spot! Looking out over the reservoir was just beautiful. The walk over the bridge and down the road to the village was perfect. After a visit to the pub we used the bus to get us back up the hill and dropped off right at the house! The cottage is actually larger than we predicted from the photos. Plenty of room downstairs and upstairs. Very well equipped..... cupboards in the kitchen are high and for short folk like me this was a little awkward. There is a little step provided if you're happy to use this. There is absolutely everything you need in this lovely home. Beds are comfortable and lovely big fluffy towels. The complimentary toiletries and basic provisions in the kitchen were a lovely touch. The house was lovely and warm and there was lots of hot water for a soak in the bath or a shower. Nothing to fault and I'm sure we'll be back if we need to stay over in this area another time. Thank you.

Fantastic property in a beautiful location. We particularly enjoyed the views over the reservoir and the reading spot on the landing. Very well equipped kitchen and very comfy beds. Would definitely recommend if visiting the area.

This is a cozy, comfortable Yorkshire terraced cottage! I was here alone for most of the month of March. The cottage is fully furnished with everything one might need. The hosts, Marie and Dan were super helpful, and so easy to contact! I would greatly recommend this place, if you are looking to explore S. Yorkshire!

Located in a beautiful part of West Yorkshire, the property is homely and comfortable. Stairs are a little steep and you have to watch your head in the loft room, but the views out the windows make it worth the climb. Well provisioned kitchen was appreciated.

The cottage was immaculate, well maintained and very well equipped. Cosy and comfortable - everything we needed was there. There is even underfloor heating in the downstairs shower room!
Marie and Dan are very approachable and have a little piece of heaven at Martha’s Cottage.

The photos don’t do Martha’s cottage justice; it is so clean, comfortable and well furnished. It is walking distance to some lovely pubs and Holmfirth is only a short drive or bus ride away (the bus stop is right outside). There are some great walks around the local area and it is so peaceful. We will definitely be booking again.

The cottage was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped, providing a great base to explore the surrounding countryside, with great walks and pubs from the doorstep. Also loved the views of the reservoir and beyond. The location of the shower room was slightly inconvenient, but we were aware of that before we booked.
