About this apartment rental
The Haus Apartment Situated in an architect designed and certified Passivhaus building in a quiet residential road, this contemporary apartment is just a short walk from Canterbury city centre. Built with sustainable materials and super-insulated and airtight, the Haus Apartment is ventilated and heated with a MVHR system (mechanical ventilation and heat recovery) which provides constant filtered fresh air and an even temperature.
The apartment is at garden level on the upper ground floor, above the owner’s architect’s studio on the lower ground floor. With a high, angled ceiling adding to its spacious feel, the bright and airy open plan and social living space has been finished in a minimalist, yet comfortable style. All windows and doors are triple-glazed, with external electrically-operated blinds. Solar thermal and photovoltaic panels on the roof heat hot water and generate electricity, enabling high levels of comfort with very low energy use.
The accommodation comprises: a kitchen with electric oven/integral microwave and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge with freezer (80/20) and a coffee machine; there is a dining area with seating for four people and a sitting area with sofa, armchair, and flat screen TV. A spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine gallery, with sofa bed and beanbag seating. The master bedroom has a king size bed with overhead bedside lights and a built-in wardrobe; there is access to a small balcony and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, WC and washbasin. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available on the lower ground floor on request.
The rear garden is accessed via a large sliding door from the kitchen. The private decked terrace has seating for two, overlooking a wild meadow area which adjoins the adjacent property.
The Haus Apartment is the ideal place to spend a weekend break or a slightly longer holiday exploring Kent
Free on site parking
Washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board available by arrangement.
Canterbury City has much to offer. With it's close links to the coast and fast trains into London you can use it as a base to explore. Or just meander through the historic city itself and enjoy all it has to offer; The Cathedral and The Marlowe Theatre, one of it's many cocktail bars, wonderful independent restaurants and coffee shops or one of the many tours available, including the infamous Ghost Tour! Whether you enjoy shopping, eating out or culture there really is something for everyone.
There is free parking on site but there are also buses which can take you directly into the City centre, although it's only around a 15 minute walk and you're right in the heart of the city centre.

Perfect location. Stayed with my 11-year-old son for two weeks. We did not even use the car once. -- Enjoyed it a lot. Will try to come again.

Property was ideal for my wife and I as a base for visiting family nearby. Very clean and modern on quiet road with easy access to Canterbury. Loved the eco design and high quality finishes everywhere.
Our only negative was the strange repeating beep noise coming from the bathroom each night, that would start around 3am and go on for between 3 and 6 hours. We only really needed the place as a comfortable base to sleep and sadly it wasn’t on either night of our stay. I’m sure the owner will get it sorted as I assume it’s a sensor for the Passive Haus eco system alerting to something, but sadly it rather spoiled what wasn’t a cheap 2 nights accommodation.
Will certainly consider coming back - as long as the repeating 3 beeps don’t.

Great house and location
Really easy to find and to get in on arrival. All appliances and facilities were first rate!
Slight issues - There could be a bit more information on the heat reclaim system as with the heat it was a little stuffy!
Also could do with a mirrors which is accessible where you can plug in the hair dryer to see what you are doing but minor issue!
