Excellent accommodation and facilities. Comfortable beds. Central location for local shops. Excellent local restaurants/cafes (breakfasts: Vista restaurant; Kefi cafe; dining: Seafood Cave and Grill.)

Very clean, tidy and with a lot of usual additions like travel cots, highchairs, hot tub towels, pans, plates etc.
We booked the house to celebrate my parent's 60th birthday and there were a range of ages and the house fitted us all perfectly.
Matlock is a lovely little town with lots of great places to eat and drink at.

Lovely property for the combination of maple in our family staying together

Property was well maintained and equipped.
Spotlessly clean and smelled freshly painted and newly renovated, brilliant location - 5 minutes walk to Matlock centre.
Each room has it's own ensuite bathroom and game rooms was good for the young children, the hot tub was big enough for about 7 people but we managed to squeeze 2 kids as well!.
The only minor criticism is that we were only supplied with 1 toilet roll per room (for 2 nights) and only 2 dishwasher tablets were left but other then that it was a beautiful Victorian house and a brilliant stay

The house was perfect. We loved the kitchen. The pool table and hot tub proved popular. The cleanliness was outstanding!
Thankyou

Great property with plenty of space and lovely hot tub. Games room was also lots of fun. We all really enjoyed the house and the area is fantastic.
4.8
Fantastic property in a lovely location. Host responded to queries quickly and the house itself was large enough to have our own space, yet Social spaces for family time. Kids (and grandpa!) loved the games room, which helped on the rainy evenings which was well stocked with plenty of board games as well as pool table and fussball. A dart board would finish it off!
Overall, a great property and we would definitely return.

Brilliant location & lovely house

Really lovely accommodation for a large group. Loved the hot tub and games room. Excellent location. Kitchen was great for enabling us all.ro be together and also cater. The upstairs shower in the double room was unusable though as the shower tray wouldn't drain away.

We had a family weekend for my birthday, 11 in total. The house is very well equipped and most of it has been newly refurbished. Plenty of space and the grandchildren loved the games room and hot tub. The only thing that could have been improved were the towels, not really bath sheets and with the hot tub there were a lot of showers. We might make it a regular event.

Lovely large house. Good facilities especially the hot tub. Communication with owner was excellent. Central location but in a quiet part of town. Only downside was late check in of 4 pm and early checkout of 10 am.
Highly recommended though

Property was huge. Plenty of space in all rooms for 11 of us. Jacuzzi was lovely. Central location to town centre. Would definitely book again.

Exactly as described. Perfect family weekend away. Would stay again

Great property in an ideal location with plenty of space for hen do guests.

Loved the house, only thing was one room advertised as a twin was a double which was a bit annoying for a group of friends, but otherwise perfect

Property was perfect for our needs plenty of room for us all and a big table

Great location, 2 min walk into Matlock. Fantastic house, lots of character and perfect for a large family , although needs some TLC on decor and facilities. Advertised with a Hot tub which was fantastic , and also a Sauna which we never found. Games room in the cellar really good for our family although pool table warped and half of the lights didn't work. Overall a great weekend.

An ideal property for a large group. There was 12 of us and we found there was plenty of room for us without falling over each other :)
Well located for shops food and drink. Well equipped for eating in.

The property is a good size and in a good, central location.
However, it is in need of some TLC as there are many snags:
The house was very cold when we arrived - thermostat stated 13 degrees - and we had to program the heating (without instructions) and bleed radiators to make it comfortable.
One of the showers didn't drain, so was unusable.
Some lights/light switches didn't work.
Lots of items in the kitchen were grubby and required cleaning before we could use them.
Wallpaper in some rooms was peeling due to damp.
The football table and pool table were damaged.
There were positives:
Bedrooms were a good size.
We enjoyed the board games.
The hot tub was fun.
As an extended family, we enjoyed the get together, but wouldn't return to the property.

The property was in a great location, close to shops, cafe's and restaurants. We were a party of 13 and there was enough space and seating for us all. The beds were comfy. The hot tub was a bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks

We had a great stay, just needed to be longer 😊

Great location for sightseeing, comfortable accommodation in a convenient location. Had a wonderful birthday with family .

Great holiday location!

Everything clean and comfortable, but not too pristine so we could totally feel relaxed.
Super sized rooms and space and so close to all amenities, but a few hundred yards and you're in the countryside. Garden a nice surprise with ample seating. Beautiful walks within a few miles and plenty of choices for places to eat.
If I had to make a slight negative, the loo seat didn't fit the downstairs toilet and I would have a stair gate at the door down to the cellar.
This didn't deter us from having a fantastic break.
Many thanks

We went for my 70 birthday, ages from 2 yrs to 72.
A wonderful time was had by everyone.
The sleeping arrangements were ideal for our family.

Great property, maintained to a very high standard. Very well equipped with everything you could ask for for a family break.
Our family ages ranged from 18 to 86 years and all were catered for, from the downstairs bedroom for the older guests to the well equipped games room and hot tub for the younger guests. Even the dog bed provided was a big hit with our puppy.
Thank you for great few days in Thornleigh

The house was perfect for our 50th anniversary weekend celebrations.
Although it was a bit tired there was everything you needed and the hottub was a big hit. We hired a magician to come and it was great because we all sat around the table.

We stayed for a wonderful weekend to celebrate my hen party (a sedate party as we are 40+!) we enjoyed the hot tub on the Saturday morning and the property is perfectly placed for a walk into town.
The house was clean and warm, perfect for our needs.
Only one pointer is more toilet rolls needed, but I should have remembered to take some.

Highly recommended for group holiday. It was just perfect. We arrived to a nice warm house on a snowy day in March.
Plus we made use of the logburner.
The facilties were fantastic , everybody commented on how good it was , worked perfectly for all 13 of us.
Handy for local amenities too.
Thank you.

We have just stayed as a group of 12 to celebrate my hen weekend and none of us wanted to leave!
Communication from the host was fantastic from booking to arrival.
The house itself, just wow! Absolutely stunning property and in such a fantastic location for exploring all Matlock has to offer.
Will certainly be visiting again with my family 😊

Booked this as accomodation for a group of 10.
Everything exactly as listed and the property was immaculate. We were all so impressed with the place and thought the price was reasonable too. Daniel the host was communicative and sent through a useful information pack shortly before our stay.
Can't recommend him or this property highly enough

I stayed with my family for my 40th Birthday. The house was great and the location was really good. We went into Bakwell and Matlock.

The house is very well located, 2 minutes walk from shops and was easy to find. Parking on the road is 1hr only up to 7pm but there are spaces on the next road or car park was £6 for 24hrs. We used early check in and out and although VERY expensive it was excellent to have the extra time to pack up and not have to leave in a rush. The house has SO many glasses, plates, bowls, cutlery etc so we were able to eat in both nights and the dining table and kitchen is a great space. The living room is a bit tired but adequate seating for 12 with sky tv and smart tv etc. oh the log burner seemed to be missing a grate or something from the bottom so it wouldn’t light. All the bedrooms are lovely, clean and bright with lovely views from from the front rooms. All en suites (the 4 double rooms), and the family bathroom (with roll top bath) were lovely- a couple extra toilet rolls would have been useful. We didn’t really use the games room but the pool table and selection of games was fab. The hot tub was lovely, a little worn and some jet covers seemed to be missing/ damaged so we took care with that and it was fine. All in all, a great place to have a get together and catch up with friends and family. Thank you

Everything would have been great but for the fact that the house had not been heated prior to our arrival. We turned up at 4pm and it was 11C inside and by 10pm was still only 16C.
It was seriously too cold to sit and relax.
It’s a big house and takes a long time to warm up
On the second day it was fine just a shame the heating hadn’t been switched on earlier

Lovely clean house with everything needed for a few days away. Great location

We needed a central place for all us to meet and stay for the weekend - and this was the perfect place .
Our friends from America absolutely loved it.
