Beautiful setting right on lake
House was very clean and very very well stocked
This is the first VRBO that we’ve stayed which was so well stocked with supplies, paper goods, etc
The only concern for some people would be the amount of steps/stairs
Robert, owner, was easy to communicate with
Would definitely return

Our family stayed for a week. We kayaked, paddle boarded, fished, and hung out on the dock. Loved the view from the deck for morning coffee and enjoyed the wood burning stove. Robert the host and his family were wonderful and made us feel very welcome.
Amazing place for a getaway or retreat. Would love to stay in winter for skiing as it’s all right there. I would classify this house as a hidden gem among rentals as it has it all. Comfortable beds, updated kitchens and baths, amazingly well stocked with the essentials and fairly priced. Thanks again to the host for making a uniquely beautiful place ours for the week.

Our time at the lake house was great! The views were beautiful and we had everything we needed to enjoy time out on the water and out in the sunshine!

The house & property were exactly as advertised. There were nice little touches (like for example, duraflame logs for the woodstove, well-stocked kitchen with all the utensils, pots/pans, spices & equipment, including a nice gas grill, allowing us to cook, which we enjoy), it was clean and provided the perfect getaway for a few days. loved it!

We were seeking a quick retreat for the weekend and found it at this home. It was incredibly clean, a welcoming space, right on the water, and provided the calm and respite we were hoping for when we booked it.
Highly recommend and thank you!

The house is as described...clean, adorable and cozy. The view is spectacular and the dock/water is great for fishing, swimming and relaxing. The area is really nice and we felt like we were lightyears away from NYC for such a short drive! Thanks!

Perfect Lakefront Stay
We had the most wonderful week at this perfect home on Highland Lake. The house was exactly as described with so many amenities. Our favorites were the paddle boards, kayaks, and corn hole game. The home is beautifully decorated with the perfect blend of modern touches and original features.
Our family, including our dog, enjoyed meals on the deck (prepared in the well appointed kitchen), game time at the table, and many hours on the lake. The area is so incredibly beautiful and there is so much to do nearby. We went rafting on the Delaware, hiked in the park, visited friends and ate in Sparta, and enjoyed a relaxing coffee at The Daily Bean.
Robert was an attentive host who made the whole process smooth and easy. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. We hope to return as soon as possible.

Highly recommend. Nice getaway in close proximity to the city. Short drive for a vacation feel. Property manager clearly put care into the prep, everything was clean and well appointed. Check-in was straightforward, all went smoothly. Backyard is fantastic, lake access, dock and lounge chairs. When my husband and I left at the end of our stay, we were already discussing what dates we could return... Many thanks

This place is really cute, the lake is *gorgeous*, and the neighborhood is amazingly quiet considering the number of houses along the lake and that this was the first HOT weekend of the season.
I know some people are a little bougie with what they are looking for in a rental house - don’t expect many frills here. There’s a dishwasher, plenty of cooking utensils, a huge gas grill, a tv with access to any streaming app you prefer, and a fireplace for colder weather. One suggestion: if you plan to cook, bring your own seasonings!
I was supposed to spend the weekend with three of my girlfriends but one couldn’t make it so it ended up being three of us altogether. One thing we all commented on is that the house looks bigger in the photos than it is in person. It was just the perfect amount of space for the three of us, but with four people it might have been a little tight. None of us realized that one of the three “bedrooms” is actually a loft with a full bed, a twin bed, and a half bath. Luckily we’re all pretty laid back so it didn’t matter but we felt it important to let prospective renters know there are only two actual bedrooms (ya know, with doors and total privacy).
Another thing prospective renters should know is that the stairs to the house and the lake are *lethal*. They’re slate, they’re steep and there’s a lot of them. We’re all in our early 40’s and relatively healthy but one of us has severe arthritis and getting up and down the stairs was really tough for her - especially when carrying bags. I was wearing some low wedges the night we got there and it was drizzling and I had to hold onto the railing for dear life.
Overall, this is a five-star review. We just wanted prospective renters to know what to expect. I should also mention that the property owners/managers, Robert and Lisa, were both really sweet and responsive. Overall this place is cozy, beautiful, and a literal breath of fresh air. You won’t regret renting here, and we will definitely be back again in the future!
