Beautifully situated on the bank of Wardsboro Brook, this secluded, family-friendly home is a place to find ease, relaxation, and wonderful access to outdoor recreation in every season. Skiing at Mount Snow and Stratton Mountain, kayaking and paddleboarding at Grout Pond, and hiking on the Appalachian Trail - it's all within a few minutes' drive. Snowmobiling on the VAST Trail System is just up the hill.
This peaceful, tree-lined home is nestled in the Green Mountain National Forest along Wardsboro Brook, allowing you to nap in the hammock or picnic at the water’s edge, and host family badminton or croquet tournaments in the yard. Ascending the wheelchair ramp or the unique flight of stairs brings you to the large, partially shaded deck – a place to barbecue, dine outdoors, and soak up the summer sun with a view of the surrounding woods.
Inside, the home is spread out across multiple levels. The main living space features a great room with two sofas and a wood-burning fireplace, a fully appointed kitchen with two eat-in tables, and a door that leads outside to the deck. Cozy up to the fire with a blanket and a good book while supper is cooking. Ascending up half a flight of stairs is the sitting room – a great place to watch TV, log onto the WiFi and catch up on a bit of work, or set up a board game at night. The basement features a Ping-Pong table for hours of evening entertainment as well. There is a VAST SNOWMOBILE system in the neighborhood, Appalachian Trail 6.8 miles, and Manchester shops 27 miles.
After a day spent hiking, skiing/snowmobiling, or kayaking (with two kayaks and life jackets provided), you’ll find three of the bedrooms on the main floor, including a primary suite with A/C, a private bathroom, and its own back deck. The fourth bedroom is upstairs offering its own bathroom, balcony, and A/C as well.

I loved both the welcoming feeling of this house and the owner's attention to detail. Lights and fan switches were all precisely labeled. Dining and event suggestions were both in a binder and on the fridge. Clear instructions for the use of appliances were provided. Owner's manuals were provided just in case. Everything you could think of needing was there and every question you could think of asking was answered before you asked it. It was such a soothing and refreshing stay to have everything so well maintained and ordered.

A beautifully appointed home with all you could need and then some. It is peaceful, with many places to enjoy nature's sounds and read a good book. My granddaughters want to go back!

This place was immaculately clean, and very spacious and bright. We loved that there were three bedrooms on the first floor, so perfect for folks who perhaps have problems with stairs. The additional sleeping area upstairs was also great, and three bathrooms made things REALLY easy. Plenty of room to spread out, too, and a nice selection of games and CDs if you're interested in those things. The beds, pillows, and linens were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied with a nice variety of gadgets and cookware. We were just there for a ladies
weekend so we did not really use any of the outdoor activity options but it seems like it would be fun for families and younger folks. All in all, very happy with this place and a great value for the price.

The house was SPOTLESS. The kitchen was well equipped and had all the basics for cooking (spices, oil, etc.). I rent a lot of vacation homes and this was one of the most comfortable ever. Everything was easy to find, light switches were labeled, instructions simple and easy to follow. We loved the private setting with a nice deck. Highly recommend!

The house was just as it is shown on website, which has not always been the case. Clean, comfortable and has mostly everything you would have at home. We were there when the natural disaster floods hit. Our bad luck there so most of what we planned was not possible to do. Mark did explain to my brother how to get generator going and that was very helpful to have electricity at times. Only thing would be local news access through the direct TV. We did not have internet so no ability to get information about what was happening, esp what roads were closed or open.

Super clean cozy home that was perfect for our group of four adults and four kids. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to make yummy dinners after skiing all day. Highly recommend this house.

This property fulfilled our needs. The house was super comfortable and inviting. The layout of the house was great. Three bathrooms and four bedrooms worked wonderfully. It was clean and well equipped. One reason I preferred this property over others, was because it was wheelchair accessible with the addition of a ramp. It would have better with handrails outside and in the bathrooms. I recommend these accommodations.

We had a great stay. The property was super clean and well equipped for our short weekend stay. We really loved the stocked firewood. My only suggestion is to consolidate some of the many many post-it notes with instructions into a book for the property.
