THE HISTORY The Beachside was built in 1904 as a summer home for wealthy New Yorkers who took the Long Branch Steamboat Co. ferry to Highlands, and then the Central Railroad train down what is now Ocean Avenue to reach Sea Bright. They designed a beautiful foyer entry with oversized moldings, 6' double pocket doors opening to a Parlor for relaxing, and a back hall leading to a smoking room for the men (upstairs you will find a second smoking room used by the women). Their main living space was the large opulent dining room with tin ceilings and intricate details located in the center of the home. In classic Victorian style, the rear entry, kitchen, and back stairs leading to the second and third floors were used by the servants, while the front of the home was reserved for the owners. The back bedroom on the second floor was used as a servant's living room, and they slept on the third floor. Today all of those spaces have been restored while maintaining their original charm, and they are all yours to enjoy.

We had an amazing time in this cute little beach neighborhood. The close proximity to the beach, stores, and restaurants made everything so convenient and more entertaining. The house was big and perfect for keeping our huge party entertained. The bedrooms were very comfy and the bathrooms were modern and nice. We would definitely come back.
