John and Cathy were incredible. They checked in on us several times to make sure we’re enjoying our stay. Their property was even better than the listing shows. We absolutely love the outdoor shower the location and the peace and serenity this property brought to our vacation. We will absolutely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay in this cozy little spot! It has a beautiful yard with pool and a hot tub just outside the back door! It was ideally located near the freeway so it has access to everything I needed to get out and about in San Diego. John & Cathy were very hospitable and they have the sweetest dog who came to visit every now and then when I was in the back yard! I'll definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Do NOT ever book with John or Cathy. My disastrous tale began when I booked their property for 4 adults to attend a WEDDING. I messaged Cathy re: the # of people & sleeping spaces needed. Sadly, I did not read the description closely enough & did not notice the “outside shower”. HOWEVER, Cathy knew we were going to a wedding. HOW could a person think an outdoor shower would suffice. WHY did she not reiterate this oddity? This was the first red flag. The studio is one large room with a bed inside a lofted closet with a flimsy sliding door, a couch, kitchen, washer/dryer, TV, & rocks (of which my son got hurt on). The bathroom door (which solely consists of a toilet, no sink, & is only 2 x 4 feet) did not close. The outside shower is visible to onlookers. Towels are kept outside with easy access to bugs & dirt. DID I MENTION CATHY KNEW WE WERE GOING TO A WEDDING. Why did Cathy not care? John said we could change rooms, but the other room would not be available until the next day. We could move once the cleaning lady was done (about 2 hours). He wanted us out quickly so the cleaning lady could then clean the room we were vacating. After a sleepless night with bugs we were able to clean up & leave, still in shock that Cathy accepted the reservation knowing the purpose of our travels. We met John & gave him $80 to cover the cost of cleaning. We were later told that the cleaning lady did not come to the previous room until the following day; & that we left the door open & the flimsy bedroom door was broken. John asked for $150 to which I agreed while still in shock of this whole nightmare. The new room was nice, albeit the bathroom door did not lock. Because we were attending a wedding, the night before our departure, I asked for instructions early. But only got the day before-the day of the big event. After reading these instructions I realized their facility was not COVID safe. Then I realized the game! Cathy & John knew that the first room was not appropriate. Other VRBO hosts told me that their property was not appropriate, which I appreciated. They knew the other room was going to be available one day after our arrival. They knew, if we did not stay at their property they would not have income so Cathy accepted our reservation instead of being decent, transparent & truthful. They let us suffer & return with bug bites. While John wanted me to pay $150 directly to him, I chose to pay via VRBO for obvious reasons. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Had an amazing stay. The place is absolutely beautiful and our host were great and very friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone who may be in the San Diego area. When we go back will definitely be looking to stay here again.

This was my second stay in this property and it remains clean, tidy, and convenient. The owners were very helpful and answered my messages promptly. Reasonably priced considering all of the amenities.

This was a lifeboat for me. I live nearby and needed a place to stay while a situation with the sewer at my house was being repaired. The property is neat and clean just as advertised. The owners are very professional and responsive. I will come back.

We had a very pleasant time at this unit. It has a great view and was comfortable for the 3 of us. A couple of concerns were that the toilet clogs and it was evident as there is a plunger ready for visitor to work on that. Also, we could have used a sink besides the one over the toilet to brush teeth and wash our faces without facing the toilet. We managed with the kitchen sink, though. I personally loved the garden and both my son and husband got to explore it completely. They played with the horseshoes and even got to see the mandarins out in the back. Thanks for allowing us to visit even when there was a 4 night stay stipulated. Please, change it to reflect it on the posting to avoid confusion as well as getting the price right as we did not get after paying in full for the third member of our family. Overall, it was good! We left water bottles for the next visitors as there was none for us. Happy to be helpful to others! Walter, Debora and son.
